I stayed here for two nights, and then came back a few days later for another three-night stay. I have to say that I had a very different impression of the hotel on each stay. The main difference was in my assigned room. I arrived at 10:00 AM, too early to check in. I gave them my credit card and... More

I cannot think how I had not come across this hotel previously. Impressive entrance hall, lovely dining room, grand staircase, near to Queensway tube. Lovely bar with a welcoming feel and appreciated the Lilee Langtry connection. However the breakfast on the Sunday was chaotic to put it mildly. Queues for the bacon, sausages etc. There was no bread for the... More

As we arrived in reception we were greeted by Julian and Binu. We were checked in quickly and efficiently. Julian asked about the flowers my girlfriend was carrying and when she said they were for her birthday he said as a special treat he would upgrade our room. We were offered water and fruit to take to our room. A... More

Very close to Hyde Park and Queensway/Bayswater Tube, the public rooms in this hotel are grand and uplifting. We chose a basic room that was fine for our stay, clean and well furnished and not cramped. Hotel staff are exceptionally cheerful and helpful. It was my second stay here and its my preferred base for London stays now.

Good hotel! Great info en help from Julian at reception. Good rooms, clean, complete breakfast. At Arrival our room was closed because there was no hot water. Julian gave us a good room in a nearby hotel and the day after, our room was available with free breakfast for 4 days. Thank you.

The Grand Royale is a wonderful hotel. I have stayed here many times, and each time I continually receive excellent service. The staff are very helpful, and kind. They are Also very accommodating. The Grand Royale is also very close to queensway station and baywater. The decor is beautiful too. One of my favorite hotels.

Fantastic looking hotel. Wood panelled lobby airy and impressive. All was going well until I reached my room (519). Advertised as 10 sq metres it was far, far smaller. I'd say 8 feet by 6 feet and certainly the smallest I've ever stayed in, with one tiny window above the bed. Advertising a 32 inch TV it was max 22... More

Arrived late at night tired after all the travel and Julian from the reception team took care of everything quickly for me and even went the extra mile to get me what I wanted for dinner instead of the after-midnight menu....That is excellent service on arrival!!

Hotel was in a great location. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Only downside was the size of the room...a bit on the small side. The bar area was beautiful and vitor was an amazing barman. Would visit again.

Staying in Notting Hill

Neighborhood Profile
Notting Hill
As West London's friskiest corner, Notting Hill more than manages to retain plenty of the same appeal that's brought the affluent area so much worldwide attention. In this attractive cobblestoned neighborhood, a delectable variety of eateries, independent shops, galleries and street vendors offer a delightful window into how to live the good life in London, with each presenting visitors with an experience that's a little more idiosyncratic and endearing than the last. Travelers looking to forage for antiques should be sure to visit the Portobello Road Market on Saturdays, the largest antiques market in the United Kingdom.
