Tucked away off Bayswater Road, the interior lives up to its name, everywhere is very palatial and grand. The breakfast lounge is lovely and the service is first class. It's help yourself but there's lots of choice and plenty of it. Rooms are quite small (we even had a deluxe) but well laid out with plugs either side of the... More

Pros: superb location in central London, close to everything and to 2 tube stations, unique building and atmosphere, very clean, quality beds, excellent breakfast, excellent service, attention and personal contact (we were upgraded because we complained about the room size). The rooms are well equipped with coffee & tea. Cons: the rooms are indeed very small, the standard ones are... More

This hotel is centrally located to the tube and Hyde Park with easy walk to Portabello Markets. Restaurants and shops are just around the corner but the rooms are very small. Great for a few nights but any greater than that and you may want to consider something else. The hotel staff are very polite and the breakfast is first... More

Stayed for 3 nights. The staff were very welcoming and the personal card was a wonderful touch very much appreciated. The room was very clean and had most that anyone could want. Yes it was on the small side but certainly didn't stop us loving our stay and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the hotel. Thus hotel has a great... More

This was an alright hotel, in a central, quiet zone in London, close to two tube stations (Bayswater and Queensway). Pros: -The staff at reception are friendly -All the common areas of the hotel retain their antique charm. - The breakfast is really good and offers good variety. - The bed is firm and comfortable. - There is a free computer... I stayed several times in this hotel, privately and businesss wise, and always a warm welcome. The rooms looks good, with fruit and biscuits when you arrive there. Some 1 person rooms are a bit small. The 2 persons bedrooms are good. The hotel itself has a nice English style, and is always very clean. Great area across Hyde Park... More

Really impressed with this hotel, staff friendly and helpful, very clean, lovely building, breakfast was one of the best we've had, with lots of choice. Was just a bit disappointed the bar didn't stay open a bit later.

The hotel is excellently located adjacent to the Hyde Park and a walking distance from Bayswater tube station. It is a wonderful heritage building, ornate woodwork everywhere, very nice dining area with large sunlit interiors and evoked an age gone by. Unfortunately the rooms are matchbox size, which makes one claustrophobic. The attached bathrooms are so tiny that one could... More

Staying in Notting Hill

Neighborhood Profile
Notting Hill
As West London's friskiest corner, Notting Hill more than manages to retain plenty of the same appeal that's brought the affluent area so much worldwide attention. In this attractive cobblestoned neighborhood, a delectable variety of eateries, independent shops, galleries and street vendors offer a delightful window into how to live the good life in London, with each presenting visitors with an experience that's a little more idiosyncratic and endearing than the last. Travelers looking to forage for antiques should be sure to visit the Portobello Road Market on Saturdays, the largest antiques market in the United Kingdom.
