Second time in two years I have stayed at this hotel (also known as the Sheraz Hotel) on a self employed work trip so price was attractive. Great location, great shower - I'm afraid to say that's all that's great. Corridors are all laminate flooring so you can hear everyone (inc staff) up and down all night. Doors have no... More

The hotel is small and very cute. It has a very steep stair case when you enter, so this is not the place if you have a looooot of luggage. The staff is very friendly, and the rooms are quit large (this is London!) and clean. Its very good value for money!

Ideal for virtually everywhere as only 5 minutes from the Tube (Aldgate East) - we stayed there for a gig at the O2. Very reasonable price considering the quality of the room. Wooden floor, very clean, comfy bed and air-conditioning. To be ulta-picky, no tea/coffee making facility in the room, but that's not a dealbreaker. Will be booking this place... More

This is a great hotel in a great part of London. The room was really good value for money having a good size en-suite, comfy double bed, air conditioning and TV. The only draw back from the experience was a very random knock on our door at 11pm when the manager tried to walk into our room and ask if... More

Our room was overlooking Brick Lane, but wasn't noisy at all. Good-sized room compared to many London hotels I've stayed in. Shame they didn't use a bit more of the room space to make the bathroom bigger, though - *very* cramped! Whatever you do, don't pay for breakfast here: it's cheap, but then it's only a small box of cereal,... More

After booking we're cheerily advised that we are staying in what was one of the notorious pubs frequented by the poor of this area and where Jack the Ripper picked up his first victim only to do the dastardly deed a few doors away (now gone). Happily there were no entrails draped around the room! The advertised restaurant (advertised as... More

The hotel has everything you need for a basic overnight stay. Very clean and modern rooms. Bathroom a little small. Our original booking was the 'sister hotel', but on arrival we were told we were being moved to this one, which was disappointing considering we had booked it for the convenient location and this one was miles away. On arrival... More

Staying in Whitechapel

Neighborhood Profile
Whitechapel
Whether you're here for its dynamic street life, world class galleries or famed curry houses, you're bound to be wowed by the uniquely cosmopolitan flavor of Whitechapel. Long gone are the days when Jack the Ripper stalked its streets. And despite his mysterious legacy bringing throngs of curiosity driven tour groups to its back alleys and otherwise serene garden squares, these days you're more likely to catch a cutting edge fashionista scurrying through its age old lanes than criminals of any sort.Whether you're here for its dynamic street life, world class galleries or famed curry houses, you're bound to be wowed by the uniquely cosmopolitan flavor of Whitechapel.
