Took a suite for 1 night at £150. Quality and size of the suite was excellent. They even made a fantastic room service meal at 3 am, possibly the best cheeseburger I have ever had delivered within 20 min. Only slight gripe was that the bathroom could have been warmer, though it was very cold outside and perhaps I was... More

This is a boutique hotel in an old Brewery. It's a nice place and very close to underground so its easy to move around in London. Clean and new tough I personally found the room a bit small. Service was also very good.

I am going to write a combined view of the London City Suites and the Montcalm at the brewery. I was at an event at the brewery and wanted a hotel close by. This was the cheapest option. Firstly I had to find it. Well it was dark by the time I got there. I found the brewery and the... More

We stayed here whilst attending a 60th Birthday Party in Shoreditch. Great London City hotel with superb rooms in very modern and chic decor. The bed, quilt & pillows were to die for and the bath towels were huge and soft. Fantastic bathroom (there is an electric blind if you don't like the openness of the style) which has lovely... More

Stayed for 3 nights for business. Travelled alone. Booked “Single Deluxe room” via “expedia.com”. Both the hotel and Expedia websites failed to reveal that the actual size of a “Single Deluxe room” is just 6.5 sq. meters (60 sq. feet) - quite unbelievable. Being so surprised by the size of the room I double-checked the figures at hotel reception. I... More

Really nice experience, Mattress extremely comfy, all is clean, all is new. But no view at all outside the windows, so really good for staying inside and rest. Not animated area though but clean and easy access. parking available about 500m for a reasonable price (22p per day)

The hotel is top notch! If you're looking for a quick getaway or are in London on business, I would highly recommend this hotel. The hotel itself is very modern and extremely well appointed. The room was really nice and comfortable and the amenities were great. The hotel is a straight shot from Barbican station (about 3-5 minute walk underneath... More

This was the first time we have stayed at the Montcalm, but will certainly return. We were very lucky to be upgraded to a Wow suite , which was sheer luxury. The hotel was fantastically clean and the staff were so pleasant and helpful. We highly recommend the Montcalm.

Staying in City of London

Neighborhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighborhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighborhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
