Basically, if you're out and about all day and not being in the room much, sure, stay here for a few nights. But if you plan on a week or longer holiday, or staying in the hotel for the morning/afternoon, consider another place. What's really frustrating about this hotel is the steps up to the front door, the fact there... More

Fairly good hotel for London located just behind the British Museum and 5-10min walk to Great Ormond Street Hospital and also to Russell Square metro station. Both the room and the bathroom are not crampy but not very spacious (don't expect a big room, just enough for 1 person to walk around the bed, two is a crowd) and ok... More

A lovely room in a nice, central part of London - Oxford Street and Covent Garden are close and we walked here really easily from Euston. Adjacent to The British Museum. Only concerns were: breakfast, drinks, etc are really, really expensive, we kept getting our door knocked and the cold tap delivered tepid water - not nice to clean your... More

The rooms are pretty modern and really very pleasant. Good bathroom and toiletries and the hotel literally backs on to the British museum. Its close to Oxford st and Covent garden too so the location is really superb. Nice little bar and amazing city garden out the back. I sat out on a summers evening and had a cup of... More

Varvara very helpful and provided extra special help which we were very impressed with and appreciated. Rooms are comfortable. Bathroom nice big and plenty of room to move about. Wifi tv, we did not have a car so do not know about parking. Very close like just around the corner from the British Museum, and Russell Park. Oxford st easy... More

We just returned from staying here. It was part of a theatre ticket deal with ticket tree. The most redeeming thing were the excellent tickets for Charlie and the chocolate factory. The hotel is a bit tired and shabby. Our family room was one of the downstairs rooms converted which would have been OK if we weren't all on 'put... More

Opt for a room at the back overlooking the gardens, lovely and quiet meant could sleep with window open due to no air con. Staff are a fabulous bunch, so nice and helpful an asset to the hotel. Recommend and look forward to next visit.

After most of the faceless chain Hotels I usually stay in this was a little step back in time to a more gentle pace of life. The room was large clean and well appointed overlooking a beautiful Garden.

We stayed here on a friday and we were not meant to check in til 3 but we got there around 1 and our room was ready.. the hotel itself for the price was nice enough and the garden at the back was lovely. It was in a great location on russel square, only 5 minutes walk to Russel Square... More

Staying in Bloomsbury

Neighborhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
