To being with, Earl's Court is fairly centrally located, close to the West End, about seven minutes' walk from an Underground station and with buses passing at the end of the road. The staff is lovely - my stay began with an argument over Vegemite vs. Marmite and a very helpful recommendation of a local courier shop to ship my... More

it is on the Piccadilly train line. Therefore, it provides direct link from Heathrow Airport to London city. Location and convenience wise, you cannot beat this. We were lucky to obtain a ground floor private room considering the hostel does not have lift access. The steps to the other floors are steep and narrow. Luckily we need to drag our... More

I actually stayed in this youth hostel while looking for a place to live in London, and I chose it because it's close to 3 underground lines at least, and literally IN South Kensington (so Kensington Garden and the museums are nearby). You can choose between a unisex room or a mixed one, and you can also choose how many... More

I found YHA Earls Court online. Don't be fooled by their website! The bathroom and toilet facilities were atrocious. One morning when I was showering, an alarm starting going off. Someone came down to see what was wrong and it was closed since. No odea what happened. When I arrived there was no toilet paper on the toilet. The cold... More

The accomodations were Good. In general, the hostel, the toilets, the bathrooms were clean. Bad smell in the rooms near the kitchen (ground floor and bellow) (didn't get one of those! thank god!) The kitchen was sometimes very full and there was not enough utensils for everyone. The kitchen was the dirtiest part of the hostel.

The toilets (used two different ones) smelled strongly of urine, so much so that I held my breath when in them. It was so revolting that I left halfway through my booking, opting for an inexpensive single at a B&B. This surprised me because earlier in my trip I stayed in the YHA London St. Paul's hostel, which was clean... More

The location of the hostel is good, it's just located nearby the the earls court underground station. Friendly staff. The lounge area s nice as it's well-decorated. The shared bathroom is not clean enough. Found stain on the floor. The light sensor is not working properly, cause it will sometimes switch off itself even there's someone inside. Wifi connection is... More

The place smells musty, or maybe drain smell, I was on the top floor, very smelly, tiny and shabby toilets and showers, not clean, peeling grubby paintwork, the place is a disappoint ment relative to other yja hostels I've been .I would have left except I had paid for several nights up front on arrival.

The hostel is close to underground station, just around 8 minutes away. The room is clean and safe, and grateful to have locker provided. Room card is required to enter bedroom, kitchen and the floor where bedroom is located, therefore, safety is guaranteed. There are just 3 people in my 6-people room during my stay so it is comfortable and... More

The YHA London Earl's Court is one of the nicest low budget accommodations I've been to in London. It's very clean, with separate showers and toilets, a self catering kitchen that opens to the prettiest courtyard, and really nice staff. It also has some private rooms that open to the same courtyard. I stayed in a same sex 4 bed... More

Staying in South Kensington

Neighborhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
