Had a 5 day reservation, and got in late, so stayed one night, ( barely 7 hours there) before packing up, cancelling the rest of the reservation. Noisy, smelly, run down place with incompetent staff, no working lights in the washrooms, and the staff seemed apathetic to traveller's needs. Horrible experience, you can find better, for the same or a... more

Hostel- Small is an understatement when it comes to the Astor's Victoria. It's cramped and at times claustrophobic. The lounge/ reception area is about the size of a closet; not worth hanging out around here. However, if you are on a budget and are looking for a place to store your luggage, then this is your 'get in and get... more

Astor Victori is a really pleasant Youth Hostel, the employees are cool and nice, the place is so British! it's very easy to meet new people from a lot of different places, it's very welcoming! However, the rooms are very small but clean and well organised! But the big problem of astor is the showers, they are very small, humid... more

The room and check in area is ok, but the bathroom is dirty in the morning from the previous nights pub crawlers. breakfast is bread, jam, and cereal with skim milk. It's quite a walk from victoria and if you arrive at night, you'd be confused with the street name changes, keep walking, you'll see it nearer to the end... more

IMPORTANT NOTE! If you are over 35 this hostel will refuse you lodging in no uncertain terms. This policy is not clear on their website. It doesn't say they will refuse you when you arrive and that you will not be able to get your deposit back. Do not book lodging here if you are over 35! more

So I spent a night here and let me tell you its a little bit scruffy. They've tried their best to renovate the place with paint and a nice kitchen and TV room on the ground floor, so it wasn't terrible. At the same time you could tell the building was quite old and there was no elevator, but I... more

This place has a cool atmosphere. I think it needs to update it's facilities. Especially since a lot of newer hostel have 1 shower for 4 people. This hostel had 2 showers per floor and 1 floor hosted 18 people. If you find a newer hostel, I would try for those. more

I stayed here with a friend for four nights last December and loved it. I was worried about two young girls (both of us were 19) overseas sharing a room with strangers, but it was not a problem. I was probably the most annoying one, leaving early (around 4 AM a couple of days) and returning late (well past midnight).... more

Stayed there for two nights while taking a short break in London. I got an all-girl 6-bed dorm with ensuite shower for about 20 pounds a night. Problems: 1) Noise - in typical hostel fashion, the noise level was extremely high at night. Lots of party-goers and drunken backpackers going in and out of the hotel all night. 2) Space... more

I decided to stay at this hostel due to it's great location, well that seems to be it's best quality! While it's named Astor Victoria it is in fact much closer to the Plimco uderground then Victoria station. I stayed in a 6 bed dorm for 1 week. Overall the hostel was kinda clean but a little old and run... more
