Do not be fooled by the pictures of this hotel online.... the hotel is advertised as newly renovated but it is in poor condition and not worth the money. In fact the particular room we stayed was even unsafe with the shower enclosure glass enclosure actually falling on us. On top of the shoddy condition of the room.. see the... More

First of all, I would like to apologize for all the inconvenience and stress caused. That morning we had an issue in the room below yours. Water was coming without stopping from the ceiling on room 407. After investigating this matter, we find out that the damage water pipe was coming from an elbow on the central heating above the... We stayed one night and found it perfectly acceptable and fine. The floors are hard surfaced so we heard our room neighbour coming and going but did not hear them once in their room. The hotel bar made decent soup and was packed with visitors. The breakfast was average - edible with decent choice. We would consider staying again if... More

For a London Hotel this was a good value. I was in London a week with my 12 yr. old son. It is a safe, comfortable location right beside the Natural History Museum and The Science Museum. I emailed in advance and asked for a bright room on the larger side as we were there multiple nights. The room was... More

My husband and I stayed here for 5 nights and thought it was quite nice! We arrived early in the morning and there was only one room available, which was on the lowest floor (aka, the basement). We were allowed to take a key to determine if we would like to stay in that room, which we thought was extremely... More

I booked this hotel through Travelzoo at an excellent price for a birthday present for my husband. We were upgraded to an executive room which was modern and spacious only gripe if any was no view but didn't bother us as in London not much to view anyway. This would have been ***** but for one problem. On arrival the staff were very helpful, we arrived just after 12.30, check-in is from 3pm, they checked us in at 12.30. we dropped the bags and went out returning at 5,.30pm. We were appalled that our door had been opened and was left open by whoever went in. Fortunately nothing... More

Great hotel, well place with two tube stations 10 minutes away. Natural History Museum, V&A and Science Museum within 15 minutes walking distance. I stayed in this hotel on business, and although my room was lovely and clean, it was almost impossible to sleep. I could literally here the people in the adjoining rooms taking a shower or using the bathrooms, it was terrible. Whenever somebody flushed the toilet, I could hear the water in the pipes, which did not let me sleep.... More

Staying in South Kensington

Neighborhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
