I booked this hotel through LateRooms, and it certainly met my criteria of somewhere very close to The Royal Albert Hall - in fact after the concert we were back within minutes. However, as a pensioner I didn't like it too much. The floor was uncarpeted, and when I got up at night to use the toilet I was worried... More

Booked this hotel a good couple of months in advance through an independent site and I can honestly say I had no issues what so ever. Although I did not book directly through the hotel they were quick to sort additional requests when I phoned them. Staff were warm and welcoming on arrival and although we were early for check... We booked this hotel based mainly on location, as we wanted to attend an event at the Royal Albert Hall - which is about 10 minutes walk away. We made a long weekend of it and stayed 3 nights. It is a 4 star hotel apparently, but we didn't use many of the facilities. We'd booked, and paid, "room only"... More

I booked this hotel for a saturday night at the beginning of december, due to its location and the fact it is so close to Winter Wonderland whilst being in a very nice area. Having booked on the Monday of the week we were due to stay, we were then told we had been "booked out", we were not told... More

I chose this hotel for the location in a neighbourhood I know well. I booked a twin bedded room for my sister in law and myself in the summer. When we arrived we were told the room wasn't ready even though it was 2:30. We got access to room 112 which was unacceptable for two mature women with a large... More

This hotel is quite comfortable and located in an area of London where people actually live. There are schools all along Queen's Gate, so weekdays the sidewalks are full of children coming and going with or without their parents and the nearby street with restaurants and shops is obviously frequented by locals (versus tourists). Of course it's hard to find... More

I'd love to give excellent rating to this hotel because the property is so nice, but the reception and my overall booking experience ruined the satisfaction. :( I recommend this hotel to non-British European travelers the most because this hotel is very international, they do have European sockets in the room! You get ironing kit by default, and the rooms... More

The three of us stayed in room Nr. 1, which was spacious and comfortable. The location of the hotel is quite remote, if you want to visit London. On the other hand is close to science museum and hide park. In addition to that breakfast is a rip-off. I recommend coffee at South Kensington.

Uninterested rude reception staff. Manager was never available to discuss what we were unhappy with. Everytime we requested the manager the response was that there wasn't one in today, I'm sorry but having worked in a hotel for some years there is always a duty manager on shift. Can't express enough how let down I feel by this hotel. If... More

Staying in South Kensington

Neighborhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
