This hotel was fantastic! The location was convenient. 2 blocks from St James. A few blocks from Buckingham and Westminster. We stayed in the corner on the 4th floor. Perfect view. There was noise usually when the bars close (not too late) and in the morning from garbage trucks. But it wasn't that bad. Easily ignored. The staff was so... More

I was lucky enough to get tickets for the Queen and Adam Lambert Rock Big Ben gig at Central Hall in Westminster on New Years Eve. I'm a big Queen fan and have been for over 40 years so welcoming the New Year in with a Queen gig was just the ultimate experience. We stayed at the Sanctuary House Hotel... More

I didn't stay in the hotel. Ate in their pub my first night with my mom. We both had pies! She had the steak and ale while I got the chicken and chorizo! They were both fantastic! We liked our pies so much that we were constantly looking for another place to get a good pie in London :)

Excellent hotel. Staff, room, everything perfect. Cannot fault it on anything. Will 100% use this hotel again if I come to London. One of best hotels I've ever stayed in. :) even get little chocolate on pillow before bed :) xx

This small hotel is within walking distance to major attractions; Big Ben, Buckingham Palace,Westminster Abbey, South Bank, the London Eye to name a few and a very short walk to the St. James tube station. Checkin was a breeze, and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. It was quiet and clean at a fairly reasonable price. Would definitely return.... More

We had a lovely time at the Sanctuary House Hotel. We arrived early from our flight, getting to the hotel before 9am. They had our room ready within the hour, which was a huge help. They held our bags while we went for breakfast, and really made the arrival easy. The room is quite nice, and the location is prime.... More

Our stay here was easy, the staff were helpful and there was a lift to take our suitcases up the flights of stairs which was great. This hotel is in a great location, close to Westminster Abbey and the tube.

Trying to find good value in London is getting increasingly difficult but this hotel combines all the elements you want from an overnight stay with a price tag that won't leave your eyes watering! Great location 'next' to Westminster and only a 10 minute walk to The Eye and South Bank. Our room was clean and a reasonable size (we... More

We ventured here for dinner on a Sunday evening after many of the area restaurants had already closed. They have Fuller's beer which was a draw for my husband. We ordered two main courses: the burger served with fries and the steak and ale pie. The burger was cooked nicely (a little pink in the middle as requested) but it... More

We enjoyed our two night stay here, especially the soft bathrobes & fresh milk for your tea & coffee. Our room was very spacious & comfortable, & warm. The location is perfect, with Westminster Abbey & Big Ben only a few minutes walk away. Having the hotel above a public house works very well with good hospitality & good food.... More

Staying in Westminster

Neighborhood Profile
If you only had an afternoon to experience London on a grand scale, Westminster would be a wise a place to start. The ornate Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey sit adjacent at a corner of Parliament Square, and a short stroll along The Mall leads to Buckingham Palace. Trafalgar Square and Nelson's Column are just up the road as well. As captivating as the architecture is, the wonders of Mother Nature are highlights of the area too. St James's Park (arguably London's loveliest), the expansive Green Park, and pedestrian friendly tree lined paths along the river showcase the exquisite manicure provided by English gardeners. Just beyond the landmarks and the gorgeous outdoor spaces, quiet residential squares and age old local pubs offer a more subdued take on this global seat of power in the heart of London.
