Nice neighbourhood, right by Westminster Abby, Buckingham and St. James´s park. 10 min walk to Hyde Park or Regent street. To hotel are old, but classy and not shabby. The service is very good, and the rooms are fine. The restaurant/bar on the ground floor is very good.

The only thing this hotel has going for it is it's location relative to places like Big Ben, Westminster, etc. Otherwise the hotel does not match all the glowing reviews I found here on TripAdvisor. The floors creak terribly which means you hear everyone moving around at all hours of night. It's loud outside of the hotel late into the... More

This hotel had a great location but the room, although clean was very small. It took us a while to figure out how to use the shower. It was very quiet even though it was located over their own pub. Speaking of their pub-skip it. They were out of most of the menu items and then when we saw a... More

Enjoyed the location of the hotel as it is ideal for the major sites. Rooms were rather small for the price and beds were extremely uncomfortable and lumpy. Turn down service was a nice surprise every evening and the staff was friendly. Adjacent pub offers free coffee to hotel guests.

Walking distance to heaps of attractions, which is why we paid more money, but it was worth it to be close as we only stayed overnight. Lovely staff and room. Turn down service was a nice surprise. Dinner in hotel below was lovely and great value.

The Sanctuary House is a lovely hotel. It is close to The Abby, Big Ben, and The National Art Gallery. The rooms are quaint and the staff very nice. If you don't want to be stuck in the crowds that the tour buses drop off near the hotel, leave BEFORE 10 am. Also a little loud on the streets below... More

Family and I traveled to London this summer and were blessed to stay at the IDEAL location in Westminster. Walking distance to most everything we wanted to see in London. This hotel made it easy to enjoy our stay.

Whilst really an annex to the pub this hotel is very good, the rooms excellent, aircon, tv, a fridge in the room and a great bed and shower. It is spitting distance from Parliament Sq, the Houses of Parliament, Big Ben, the London Eye and Scotland Yard (although that will soon be gone, thank you austerity). The staff were a... More

My partner and I stayed here during a quick three day trip to London. The hotel is located on a quiet side street, a bit off the beaten path. The lack of traffic (and accompanying noise) was a boon. Very convenient to public transportation (St. James tube station is just minutes away by foot) and easy walking distance to Westminster... More

The staff's efforts are ruined by the room service team and hotel policy. We booked 2 nights but separately , so we were in different rooms each night. Night 1: Room OK but tea & coffee facilities seemed a little haphazard No milk, but a sign asking "if you'd like fresh milk call reception". Well actually we didn't have ANY... More

Staying in Westminster

Neighborhood Profile
Westminster
If you only had an afternoon to experience London on a grand scale, Westminster would be a wise place to start. The ornate Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey sit adjacent at a corner of Parliament Square, and a short stroll along The Mall leads to Buckingham Palace. Trafalgar Square and Nelson's Column are just up the road as well. As captivating as the architecture is, the wonders of Mother Nature are highlights of the area too. St James's Park (arguably London's loveliest), the expansive Green Park, and pedestrian friendly tree lined paths along the river showcase the exquisite manicure provided by English gardeners. Just beyond the landmarks and the gorgeous outdoor spaces, quiet residential squares and age old local pubs offer a more subdued take on this global seat of power in the heart of London.
