The hotel was close to Big Ben, London Eye, House of Parliament. Great pubs around the neighborhood. The hotel staff was very polite and helpful to all my needs. Rooms were very clean and large. I recommend this hotel for comfort and relaxation from a full day of touting the City of London.

The location is excellent, the hotel was comfortable and clean, the staff were pleasant and helpful, the food was good and the pub was typically old English, lively but not noisy. The shower fooled me like Sandi W and when we rang reception for help a young man very quickly came to our room to explain. What more can I... More

The location of the hotel was fantastic & convenient as we were there to see a show. The room was clean & modern although a little small but we didn't spend much time in there, so it wasn't a problem. The pub was great & my hubby loved the choice of ales. Great atmosphere. Would def stay again.

We needed a hotel within easy walking distance of the Houses of Parliament. Searched online and found this one - an ideal combination of a Lomdon pub (for a drink & good food) and a comfortable room for overnight stay. Booking online easy with immediate email response. Checkin faultless. Room was large, very clean & well furnished. Large immaculate very... More

The Sanctuary House Hotel is great on price, location, cleanliness, and friendly staff. I was going to an event at Westminster Abbey and wanted to be in easy walking distance since I was going to be by myself at night. I have no problems with the hotel but the pub below . . . . Good food but sat for... More

Lovely hotel, room, service and food! Couldn't fault it and wouldn't want to, can't wait to stay here again! Lovely touches like chocolates on pillow and free water in the fridge that was replenished daily. :-)

Stayed at the hotel for 1 night. Great rooms, really well appointed and very modern however 2 issues with 1 solution. My room was freezing, despite having the heater on full all night. It's also very noisy from road noise. Both of these issues are caused by only having very old single glazed windows. Apart from this a great cost... More

We were visiting Big Ben and Westminster Abbey and were looking for a local pub for a sunday roast. When I arrived at the sanctuary house hotel it looked like a stylish tea house on the outside which surprised me. This is a classy pub in a lovely part of London, attentive service, nice food and patrons.

This hotel was fantastic! The location was convenient. 2 blocks from St James. A few blocks from Buckingham and Westminster. We stayed in the corner on the 4th floor. Perfect view. There was noise usually when the bars close (not too late) and in the morning from garbage trucks. But it wasn't that bad. Easily ignored. The staff was so... More

I was lucky enough to get tickets for the Queen and Adam Lambert Rock Big Ben gig at Central Hall in Westminster on New Years Eve. I'm a big Queen fan and have been for over 40 years so welcoming the New Year in with a Queen gig was just the ultimate experience. We stayed at the Sanctuary House Hotel... More

Staying in Westminster

Neighborhood Profile
If you only had an afternoon to experience London on a grand scale, Westminster would be a wise place to start. The ornate Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey sit adjacent at a corner of Parliament Square, and a short stroll along The Mall leads to Buckingham Palace. Trafalgar Square and Nelson's Column are just up the road as well. As captivating as the architecture is, the wonders of Mother Nature are highlights of the area too. St James's Park (arguably London's loveliest), the expansive Green Park, and pedestrian friendly tree lined paths along the river showcase the exquisite manicure provided by English gardeners. Just beyond the landmarks and the gorgeous outdoor spaces, quiet residential squares and age old local pubs offer a more subdued take on this global seat of power in the heart of London.
