The previous sharing menu was good value and good. However their new menu leaves much to be desired. For £5 you can treat yourself to 4 (shop brought) bread sticks or 'salt and pepper' squid with neither salt nor pepper and hardly any squid. The nachos lacked cheese, the chips were cold and the chicken over-cooked. I would definetly recommend... More

I have stayed in many hotels in London, and the rooms can be a bit hit and miss. Some are opulent and roomy, others are shabby broom cupboards. I must admit when I first looked at the pictures on-line, I was a bit sceptical due to the location and price of this hotel, I had low expectations. How pleasant it... More

Good location, nice room & staff & very comfortable bed. What more could you ask! So convenient, minutes away from St James Park tube station. Pub below does lovely, unpretentious pub grub. Recommended.

me and my boyfriend stayed here for the marathon weekend...very close to everything (Big Ben, London eye) which we were pleased about! Hotel is nice and clean room was lovely bed was really comfy...would stay here again but make sure our room isn't next to the staff 'store room' next time as on our first morning here we were woken... I stayed two nights at the Sanctuary House Hotel, and I had an excellent experience. It is a few steps from the tube and Westminster Abbey/Big Ben. It is also a short walk to Victoria Station and Buckingham Palace. You can't ask for a more centralized location to the sights. The desk staff was very accommodating in storing my luggage... More

A friend recommended that when looking for a pub, we try to find one that is sponsored by Fuller Brewery. The Sanctuary House is one such pub. The food was excellent, and the service was impeccable. We both had sandwiches and a glass of wine - both of which hit the spot after a long day of sight seeing in... More

Sanctuary House is really well located for visitors to LOndon with many of the sights within a short walk. We were there for a wedding and know London well but it was just a short walk to the Abbey so that was great. The room (101) is on the corner - it is a good size with a well equipped... More

We booked through Hotels.com and got the room at a great price for central London. Check in was easy, room was a great size. There was a fridge and safe available in the room, plenty of coat hangers, and a dressing gown each. It was a short stroll to St James Park tube station, allowing us to get to Leicester... More

First time in London, and we were glad we picked The Sanctuary House Hotel. The staff was friendly. The location was great (just 2 blocks from the tube). We were able to walk just 5 min to big ben at night and get some great pictures. Breakfast that was included was a great value and delicious. I was excited to... More

My friend and I stayed here for a night during the Christmas season and it was lovely. Very nice hotel with a charming old feel to it. Our room was great! Very modern, classy and spacious and I was really happy with the coffee and thee facilities in the room. So nice to come back from a cold day out... More

Dear Samantha, Thank you very much for your lovely review. Christmas is always a brilliant time to come and enjoy the city and soak up the incredible atmosphere whilst taking in the sites, which of course, we are perfectly located for. I am happy that our little touches, such as our selection of hot drinks and biscuits, made the chilli... More

Staying in Westminster

Neighborhood Profile
Westminster
If you only had an afternoon to experience London on a grand scale, Westminster would be a wise place to start. The ornate Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey sit adjacent at a corner of Parliament Square, and a short stroll along The Mall leads to Buckingham Palace. Trafalgar Square and Nelson's Column are just up the road as well. As captivating as the architecture is, the wonders of Mother Nature are highlights of the area too. St James's Park (arguably London's loveliest), the expansive Green Park, and pedestrian friendly tree lined paths along the river showcase the exquisite manicure provided by English gardeners. Just beyond the landmarks and the gorgeous outdoor spaces, quiet residential squares and age old local pubs offer a more subdued take on this global seat of power in the heart of London.
