mid-20th century furniture including mattress, thin curtains for the light and thin walls for the neighbours, dusty carpet, creaky floors, phone box shared showers and an uncooperative internet. The reception tried to photocopy both sides of my credit card (after payment had been approved) until i stopped it. There are better places on and around Belgrave Road and unless it's... More

First let me say that, for a "budget" hotel, this wasn't too bad. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. They were always polite etc. When I asked for extra pillows they were there within minutes. The bed was clean and the towels changed every day. The breakfast provided was more than adequate. There was... More

We just needed one night but couldn't get in at our usual hotel, so chose the Caswell. I had seen the RAC sign on the photo (I dont believe they have any rating.) The guy who eventually greeted us was friendly but was keen to get our card payment before we were showed our room - it literally went down... More

this hotel was clean, the staff were friendly and very helpful, and the hotel was well located (approx few minutes walk from Pimlico station). Breakfast was a lovely range of cereals, jams, juices and a stack of hot toast plus a hot croissant - lovely! Free wifi was available in the communal areas only, and there was range of shops... The staff at the Caswell was friendly, and the rooms (bed and bath) were very clean. We were looking for somewhere reasonably priced that was within walking distance of a tube station, that was safe and clean, and we found it at the Caswell. The breakfast was delicious, and always served with a smile (which I'm sure wasn't always easy).

Three friends in a room for three people. The room was small and the double bed is not intended for friends or people average weight. Okay breakfast in the basement. Bath and toilet in the hallway on two floors. Location was a bit too far away from center for me, but easy with a taxi.

We stayed here with our three older children. We have such fond memories of the hotel! We booked two rooms, one of them was a triple for the three older kids and then a double for ourselves. The rooms and hotel in general are older but that was what we expect in London. The location was FANTASTIC! Close to Victoria... More

Biggest mistake in booking ever, it's not a hotel, it's more of a guest house, shared bathrooms, in this day and age are not acceptable, we had the triple room (which is how I thought shared bathrooms came into it), as it was the only one available, which consisted of a double and a single bed crammed into one room... I realise that London is a busy, thriving metropolitan city and that things will be slightly more expensive. But seriously, over £100/day for this place is a joke. The décor and carpets in this place are not only old but are also grubby. The room I stayed was the number 9, it was old and musty. It had an en... More

Staying in Pimlico

Neighborhood Profile
Pimlico
Time spent in Pimlico is a slower-paced affair than most other Central London neighborhoods. This largely residential area orderly arranged beside the Thames, is a treasure trove of quaint pubs, subtle architectural charms and local boutiques. Here, art lovers thrill at the chance to visit the world class Tate Britain gallery for its collection of British art from the 1500s to the present. For peace and quiet and some downtime spent along the Thames, Pimlico is highly recommended.
