I immediately knew that this was a place of quality from the start. My initial enquiry and reservation was handled most professionally. There on I was telephoned prior to my arrival to enquire about pillow choice, water preference and climate temperature . As we were Celebrating my sons birthday, the hotel arranged for ballons to be filled in his room... More

So the rooms may feel small if you are used to non central London hotels, the lack of coffee and tea making facilities a chore if you are used to making your own but really, does that matter ? The Goring offers what few else can provide – a personalized home away from home providing instant relaxation and enjoyment. From... More

A visit to The Goring is not a stay but a memorable experience. It exudes the standards and quality of a bygone age yet has been refurbished to meet the demands of the modern age. The restaurant, it's food and the attentive service are quite excellent. These qualities have seen it through 105 years to the modern day

Dear David M, Thank you for your simply wonderful words about your recent stay with us at The Goring. The balancing act between preserving the history and the heritage of a treasured hotel whilst still equipping it to both pamper and perform the needs required by a modern luxury traveller, is a fine one. Too much demand for change could... More

Attention to detail, warm welcome, I love the fact it is an old family established hotel and guests feel like old family friends. Touch of the countryside in central London. Look forward to a return visit.

Beautifully enhanced after a very sympathetic makeover, this family owned 105 year old hotel has left unchanged the most endearing aspect, the warmth of welcome from the staff. I've been a visitor for a decade, and have rarely found anything less than perfect, and in such rare cases the staff notice just as quickly, and quietly put things right.

Just had Afternoon Tea yesterday at he newly beautifully refurbished Goring Hotel and had the most amazing experience. The food was delicious!! Tasty and freshly prepared sandwiches, warm scones and a colorful selection of pastries topped up by a prompt and attentive service from the waiters made us feel like Royalties. We have been staying at The Goring for over 21 years and throughout this period the excellence of the experience has never wavered. From the moment you enter the hotel, an immediate feeling of 'coming home' prevails. Every incredible Staff member (too many to name individually) will ensure that your visit will be memorable. Dear Tricia L, Thank you so much for your review about your experiences staying with us at The Goring over 21 glorious years! The Goring was shut briefly for renovation, recently. Always slightly disturbing to read 'renovation' for anyone who likes traditional decor with solid values and service, after so many high profile and historic hotels worldwide have surrendered to designer makeovers that cleansed their history and soul forever. Has yet another tasteful hotel fallen from our visiting list to the march of... More

Staying in Westminster

Neighborhood Profile
Westminster
If you only had an afternoon to experience London on a grand scale, Westminster would be a wise place to start. The ornate Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey sit adjacent at a corner of Parliament Square, and a short stroll along The Mall leads to Buckingham Palace. Trafalgar Square and Nelson's Column are just up the road as well. As captivating as the architecture is, the wonders of Mother Nature are highlights of the area too. St James's Park (arguably London's loveliest), the expansive Green Park, and pedestrian friendly tree lined paths along the river showcase the exquisite manicure provided by English gardeners. Just beyond the landmarks and the gorgeous outdoor spaces, quiet residential squares and age old local pubs offer a more subdued take on this global seat of power in the heart of London.
