The front door obviously being the first port of call, what a sincere, warm welcome the doormen give you on arrival at The Goring. They cannot do enough for you. This is precisely what I experienced the last time I was there. Similarly, when you get into the lobby, smiles and helpfulness permeate from the reception team. We were there... More

This is probably the best hotel I have stayed in. My room is compact but well equipped, spotlessly clean and most tastefully decorated and furnished. The normally ugly television set is, for instance, in a beautiful cupboard that is easily opened. The bed is most comfortable although, like many hotels these days, a duvet is used rather than my preferred... More

We've stayed at this hotel repeatedly over many years and it never disappoints from the doorman's "Welcome Home" greeting to the cordiality of the staff it's always a favorite. We've stayed at most of the better London hotels but we always come back to the Goring and now we use it exclusively. The rooms are nicely done, some larger than... More

If you want to experience true customer service then this is a must. Enjoyed the pleasure of this utterly fantastic hotel and restaurant twice in a period of three weeks, it was utterly faultless. Book and you will not be disappointed

This famous old hotel is located a few blocks from Buckingham Palace; unfortunately it is also right around the corner from the massive construction activities connected to renovations for Victoria Station [Dec 2014]. The neighborhood is badly disrupted and the streets are not pleasant to walk through. Not the hotel's fault. Some technical issues with the room (slow drains in... More

After many visits to London, we have settled on The Goring as our hotel of choice. The property has retained its turn-of-the-century elegance, a sense of which can be gained from its website. The size of rooms varies (as does the price), but even the most modest are quite comfortable and include a commodious bath. What the website cannot convey... More

Faultless. From the moment I got out of the cab to be met by the doorman, everything was 1st class, yet not pretentious in any way. Afternoon tea was delicious, as was the glass of Bollinger. Very relaxed atmosphere. Staff were very friendly, and provided excellent service. Perfect way to spend an afternoon.

Back again for our once a year treat to this beautiful hotel. Warm welcome on arrival then invited into the bar restaurant area. Started with a served cup of tea followed with Welsh Rarebit & The Goring sausage roll plus nibbles. Once again fantastic service by The Team with that extra smile always from Niki. When in London you must... More

Have long had The Goring on my list of hotels to stay in London, and this time it was there turn. Heard and read great things and with there reputation, they had a lot to deliver, and I am happy to say they did. From the moment I arrived outside in the taxi to the moment I left, it was... More

The hotel bar is a very popular place although it does get crowded and noisy. Afternoon tea is very popular and looked very nice. Negative side of sitting in the bar is that people who wish to smoke continually go out to the garden so in winter this is a great inconvenience for all the guests sitting within the proximity... Staying in Westminster

Neighborhood Profile
If you only had an afternoon to experience London on a grand scale, Westminster would be a wise a place to start. The ornate Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey sit adjacent at a corner of Parliament Square, and a short stroll along The Mall leads to Buckingham Palace. Trafalgar Square and Nelson's Column are just up the road as well. As captivating as the architecture is, the wonders of Mother Nature are highlights of the area too. St James's Park (arguably London's loveliest), the expansive Green Park, and pedestrian friendly tree lined paths along the river showcase the exquisite manicure provided by English gardeners. Just beyond the landmarks and the gorgeous outdoor spaces, quiet residential squares and age old local pubs offer a more subdued take on this global seat of power in the heart of London.
