The finest hotel in London. This really is a top class hotel. It's no wonder it is a favourite with the royal family and Kate Middleton chose to stay here the night before her wedding. There were a few teething problems with our room but everything was quickly sorted and we got a bottle of champagne with compliments to make... More

Seven of us came in on a Sunday afternoon and enjoyed a wonderful high tea in a superbly surrounding. Staff was patient and helpful. It took us 3 minutes to get to the Tube and 10 minutes to walk to Buckingham Palace, so the location is unbeatable.

A great place to stay with bags of history of the British Royal Family. The restaurant is the best dining room I've seen in the country. The food is as expected very British. The waiters and head waiters are very professional. The bar is excellent. The drinks are reasonably priced. You will see a lot of American families staying there.... More

Like the song for the US TV show...a place where everyone knows your name. A hotel where you know that you are welcome. A hotel with superb customer service from the curb to reception to your room and beyond. I have stayed here over the past 25 years and hope to visit for another 25 years. Beautiful rooms, great lounge,... More

The Goring is a quintessential British hotel in the heart of London. Situated not too far from Victoria Station it is ideally located for the West End. The staff are very friendly but in my opinion the hotel lacks service for the early bird. I needed to leave the hotel at 7.00am and was informed no hot breakfast available prior... More

Came here for afternoon tea with friends and has been by far the cosiest afternoon tea I've had. Lounge is beautiful and staff cannot be beaten. This really feels like your home when you sit there. In winter as for a table by the fireplace but do book in advance, they fill up quickly. Could spend hours in this lounge.... More

Was a delight to be able to return to the Goring yet again - an annual trip each January that I make, and can't look any further than this hotel. Simply put, it is one of the very best, not just in London, but the whole of UK and Europe (at least in my humble opinion...) Looking forward to seeing... More

Stopped off at The Goring for tea after husbands birthday dinner at a different restaurant. Staff surprised us with a complimentary cake when they realized the occasion. We sat in the garden and played croquet !

We had the sheer pleasure of a night at The Goring on Saturday and cannot recommend it highly enough. Service is exceptionally attentive and kind and the rooms a total delight. Great attention to detail, amazingly comfortable beds, true luxury and the best British breakfast ever! We will be back for sure!

The afternoon tea was lovely and the staff were very attentive and friendly. The staff asked us if we wanted refills when ever our plates were empty. We had a quick drink in the bar before hand which was equally as good. Both of us are looking forward to coming back.

Staying in Westminster

Neighborhood Profile
Westminster
If you only had an afternoon to experience London on a grand scale, Westminster would be a wise place to start. The ornate Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey sit adjacent at a corner of Parliament Square, and a short stroll along The Mall leads to Buckingham Palace. Trafalgar Square and Nelson's Column are just up the road as well. As captivating as the architecture is, the wonders of Mother Nature are highlights of the area too. St James's Park (arguably London's loveliest), the expansive Green Park, and pedestrian friendly tree lined paths along the river showcase the exquisite manicure provided by English gardeners. Just beyond the landmarks and the gorgeous outdoor spaces, quiet residential squares and age old local pubs offer a more subdued take on this global seat of power in the heart of London.
