My experience at the Astor Museum Hostel was one of a kind! Not only does this hostel have a great location (I mean, 10-15 min walk to covent garden, soho, leicester square, piccadilly....), it has an awesome atmosphere. The staff are all live in which create a really cool vibe all over the hostel. Free wifi, free breakfast, free adapters,... More

To start, the Astor Museum is so centrally located that nearly anywhere you may want to go in all of London is within walking distance. The kitchen is well fitted which is great. I saved so much money making my own food in the kitchen instead of going out to eat all the time. The rooms are neat and the... More

I only paid 12 pounds for one night. Everything was average, except one thing: the breakfast (overaverage, quite good). The location is really good. Just in front of the British Museum. Short distance walking from St. Pancras Station (if you are travelling with Eurostar) . Staff really nice. Clean rooms (clean into Hostel standards) Good in average for few nights

Lets start with the high points. This hostel is in a great central location, the bedding was comfy and clean, and the staff was nice and helpful. The kitchen area was nice if you plan on doing any cooking during your stay. I did have some issues with the hostel. Someone in my room said they saw a rat in... More

I came with a group of about 20 students and stayed between 2 rooms, staying for nights out in London. Location wise, it's not too far a walk from Russell Square, but make sure you have a map/phone. The kitchen was well kept but didn't really use it - went out for meals instead, there are a few places nearby... More

where to begin....we were a large group of students coming to enjoy London for the weekend. We have stayed in many hostels and this one was for sure the worst one yet. Aside from it being grimy and the bathrooms reminding me of a jail cell, there were many issues we had with the hostel. From the beginning the staff... More

Great Place, Great Staff, Great Location and Great people. After some research I decided to pick this hostel, because it´s great location for the price. I also had some experience from Astor hostels since i stayed at Astor Quest 2012. This was better though because it is more central and you can walk everywhere. But I like taking the tube... More

The best thing about this hostel is undeniably its location. Literally opposite the British Museum and within walking distance of Oxford Street, Piccadilly Circus, and Chinatown. The room was extremely basic (just bunk beds, a sink, and a heater) but pretty big, and the shower amenities were also basic but clean. The breakfast was actually surprisingly varied, with four different... More

This is a great place to stay in London. It is centrally located, and literally next to the British Museum. The atmosphere is fun, especially at breakfast. I remember the staff being very friendly and helpful while providing local knowledge.

I stayed at this hostel for two nights and was welcomed by the friendly staff at check in. The hostel is very small and feels like you're in an actual London home you see on British television shows. Complimentary basic breakfast is served every morning (cereal). Staff were really helpful in providing tourist attraction information. Would suggest upgrading the bathrooms... More

One of the oldest low budget hotels in London, the Museum has been helping weary backpackers and travellers loosen up since 1977! The location of this hostel makes it one of the best value hostels in London central. Right in front of the British Museum guests can access Trafalgar Square, Covent Garden and Leicester Square in just 10 minutes. Definitely the best central London hostel.A cosy budget hostel split across two buildings near Russell Square, this low cost hotel doesn't feel much like it. With a recently renovated kitchen, new reception and revamped lounge. There are dozens of sights located so close to the hostel, and is best hostel to visit as much of London as you can take in! Otherwise stay indoors with your fellow residents and enjoy a good time in the kitchen or if weather permits on our small terrace. ... more   less
