Having stayed at The Windmill for a number of years (since 2002) I have to say the service/rooms are inconsistent. Underwent a refresh a while back but some rooms still seem to be a bit shabby where bathroom has not been updated. Have also had a few instances where Air Con not working or dripping. Rooms can be quite dark.... More

We booked this "boutique" pub/hotel because it was located in an area we wanted to be in for a family occasion. The rooms looked lovely on their website so I was not unduly worried about it. When we arrived we were told that our room was on the 3rd floor (no lift)..the bedroom was dark, dingy and hot..oh so hot...the... More

A part having nice seatings and rooms the pub has an ordinary-not-so-delicious food menu and definetely overpriced just because the location is quite nice. Staff is arrogant and with an attitude and, if you go with your child, prepare yourself to feel like you are in a detention camp. Attentive and malicious waitresses are watching you not for serving you... More

Apart from the location and the seats in the pub, it seems that every staff has a different price for every drink. .A SMALL GLASS Merlot could be anything from £3.80 to £7.30, and once I got charged £15.20 for a large glass of Merlot and a pint of larger. Food is mostly bland, and very overpriced. Ambience is great,... More

A deserted place, not welcoming at all. It was meant to be a birthday treat for my daughter, which I had told them about. No special effort made, however. Room was dark (we had asked for a Common view, but didnt realise that ground floor rooms had foliage and bars on windows, so little light). Also very hot - windows... More

We were in the area to attend a friend's silver wedding anniversary, and this was the closest hotel. It turned out to be a real 'find' - friendly, comfortable, a great location on Clapham Common and excellent beer in the bar! If it hadn't have been for the blocked sink in our bathroom and no milk for the tea/coffee in... More

Booked this hotel at short notice because of location and availability of parking while visiting daughter who lives in a flat nearby. It delivered above expectations. A warm welcome including use of name on arrival suggesting we were expected (very rare even though you are almost always booked in advance). Efficient check in process taking a minute or so (why... The hotel room was spacious and comfortable with high ceiling and a very nice view of the park (cheap furniture though), the bathroom nicely designed but the finish wasn't perfect. Breakfast was good but not spectacular, although it was served in a nice setting. The hotel pub is nice with a welcoming atmosphere. Walking distance (appr. 10 minutes) to the... More

Stayed here in mid-February. On check-in, we were lucky enough to be allocated a accessibility room so very spacious room & bathroom. Dinner in the restaurant was disappointing with the food overcooked but breakfast was very good. Perhaps the chef had an off night? Would definitely stay there again. Thought it was good value for London.

This place is quite unique, A hotel/pub/restaurant on the edge of Clapham common. It wasn't cheap, but seems about the going rate for a hotel so near the city centre. Free parking is a bonus, where so many other hotels have you by the b*lls & charge £20 a night. The rooms are comfortable, and like the rest of the... More
