Been there on new year eve, central position, 5 mins away from two tube stations (Russel Square & Euston). Real estate is pretty old, room clean but really tiny. Breakfast acceptable, staff polite but in fairness didn' t deal much with them. Heating always full steam and the radiator didn' t have any proper kmob but strange taps to activate... More

Convenient for mainline trains to the North & Midlands in 'safe' Bloomsbury. Expect approx £80 room rate, and good reduction for groups. It's one of Imperial Hotels group which has other large hotels in the vicinity; one of their promotions in autumn was complimentary (your first night's) evening meal at any one of those hotels. That was a nice touch:... More

Following a business trip to London I stayed at this hotel out of convenience based on where my meeting was located. However, big mistake the entrance is very pleasing with original Art Deco features which is rare in such a large hotel but once you reach your room total disappointment. The floor creaked like a scene from Pirates of the... More

Ok for weekend away room very basic breakfast very nice staff pleasant.location of hotel excellent for Covent garden tube station and bus stops. And easy walking distance lounge bar has sky television which was good as my husband wanted to watch his team play so he did not have to go to a pub .

I have stayed here a few times because of the excellent position, rail and road transport convenience, the price, and, why not, the very filling, but unrefined English breakfast that keeps me going all day. If you have a room that looks on to the inner courtyard, you will sleep very well. It might not be as friendly as the... More

we stayed at the Taistock hotel for one night only ,we found the room was ok for the price and the breakfast was good BUT when we got back to the hotel at about 12 at night there was a party going on in the hotel function room which was very noisy and went on until about 3 to 3.30... More

Went with family and friends (7) for the weekend to see a show. Hotel was pleasant, friendly staff (one bartender was a bit sour faced), rooms basic but clean. Good location for covent Garden, Oxford Street, Leicester Square etc and a 10 minute walk from the train station. Very good breakfast. Would definitely stay here again

This could be a nice central London Hotel if the management actually managed and the owners spent a little money on it. The decor is old and faded. The rooms and beds are very basic and on this occasion the bedding (a sheet and single blanket from the 1970s by the look of it) was hideous. The blanket had a... More

We recently went to London for a wedding and stayed at this hotel, the room we had was on the small side but was very clean, the deal we got was for 2 nights and included the first nights evening meal from a fairly limited menu but the quality of the food was fine. The costs for bar drinks was very good... More

Staying in Bloomsbury

Neighborhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
