The room (on the 7th floor) was small, with a tiny TV, and the bathroom is also a bit small, and felt a bit claustrophobic. The first day we arrived, the towels in our room were dirty, which I didn't notice until it was too late, as I was already showering. Possibly because the room was on the 7th floor,... More

I stayed at The Tavistock for 10 nights in June 2015, with a Travel Study group of 13 of my students. I assure you, the photos on their website are misleading. I'm attaching real photos. This hotel was not clean. From the day we arrived, we experienced unfriendly, incompetent staff members. Wifi in the lobby doesn't work most of the... More

I stayed at the hotel last week. It is an old hotel but is generally not a problem . It is centrally located and is between the Euston station and Russell Square station. There was no problem with the cleanliness . In the bathroom there is only soap and toilet paper. The breakfast is only cereal with milk and fruit... More

Very handy spot. Easy to get anywhere in london. Rooms good size. Great shower. Rooms refreshed every day. Good breakfast. All original decor from 1930s. Good overall for price... Opposite park and close to eating places

The Tavistock is a great old hotel in a perfect location. Don't expect fancy or elegant. Expect good service, good breakfasts and a fine pub off the lobby. I've stayed here numerous times and the price, location and super staff keep me coming back.

Well located. Good underground conections and less than 20 min by foot from the main places to visit first time: british museum, trafalgar square, Soho, parliament houses, ... But wifi is only available in the hall, most of the rooms dwo not have air conditioned and those who face the internal square are very noisy Breakfast is basic basic Services... More

Despite ups and downs over the years, this is still the place I'd stay in London. Good location and direct train to Heathrow. Reasonable for London and mainly friendly staff. Same old breakfast and same greeter all these years.

I've stayed here many times now. Its good to be recognised by staff. And its helpful to know precisely what you are going to get for your money: basic but convenient. But why oh why can't they be a tad more generous with their welcome tray

Staying in Bloomsbury

Neighborhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
