Stayed here for four nights in late August. This hotel is in a wonderful position just a short walk (5 mins) from Euston Station and St Pancras Kings Cross. Russell Square underground is also 5 mins in the other direction (behind Russell Hotel). The Tavistock hotel is a clean and basic hotel which has everything you need for a London... More

Really brilliant. Went to Jacques for food - best decision ever. Food brilliant. Hotel great, staff attentive, breakfast fab - they know how cook the bacon !! Room okay, plenty of tv channels. Loads of hot water for the shower.

This hotel provided us with an excellent weekend break. Although it is central for Kings Cross an easy access to the many attractions in London the atmosphere is very calm. No trouble or queue booking in, very pleasant receptionist as were all the staff. Stayed on a bread and breakfast basis. Breakfast was fine self service but plenty tables available... More

The staff were all very nice. Not very friendly but not rude. Just nice. The free wifi was next to useless. Our room on the 2nd floor wasn't too bad. Until we started hearing music. It turns out there is a club under the hotel, something that they don't make you aware of on their website. It was so loud... More

If you take this hotel for what it is...then you will enjoy it. It is not a modern flash, bang, wallop style of hotel. It retains the fixtures and façade of something from a bygone age. So there are things about which a guest might reasonably say...wow it could do with a refurb. But others will enjoy the more classic... More

The service was very good. When booking (through Imperial Hotels own web site, which had the best prices) I requested a room on the top floor, overlooking Tavistock Square and far away from the lifts. They gave me exactly what I wanted. I can recommend the upper floor rooms as the traffic noise is less and the views pleasant. The... More

Good location and near tubes but very noisy. Reception looks impressive, Art Deco, but that stops at the lifts! Our twin room was very basic, bathroom was tiny, only one medium towel each and a tiny bar of soap that was worse than useless. The shower was cranky but tons of hot water. The room was very stuffy, it was... More

We started our visit with a welcomed early check-in, which was really needed. We had a room on the first floor overlooking Tavistock Square. The room was tiny but quite functional. Coffee and Tea corner is "filled up" every day. Only simple soup is provided along with one type of towels. The Wi-Fi connection is good in the first floor,... More

OK, so it's not luxurious: decor is a bit tired, breakfast is not that great (particularly as regards the bread and the tinned fruit) but it is very good value for the location. 5 minutes to Euston station in one direction, 5 minutes to Russell Square underground station in the other (a particularly good station if you are travelling to... I stayed at the Tavistock for four nights as leader of a study abroad tour with University students. The location is fantastic. Very close to King's Cross train station and entrance to the "tube". It was fairly hot in London at the time of our visit so we had the window open to make the temp tolerable. Found out fairly... More
