I am often in London and I always stay at the Tavistock. It is a three-star hotel located near the British Museum in the university quarter. The price is very reasonable for the centre of London and normally includes a full English breakfast buffet. The transport links are excellent - 5 minutes to Russel Squere underground and plenty of buses.... More

I really enjoy my stays at the Tavistock. The staff are all very friendly, the room clean and comfortable, the breakfast great, the location perfect, and the cost for London fantastic. What more can I say, but that I look forward to returning soon. Don't expect 5 star, it isn't but it is great value. Tony Everett

We stayed for four nights and enjoyed the free continental breakfast that had excellent service. Also, the concierge was very helpful. We also ate at Jacques Wine Bar, which had good food. Although Wi-Fi was not available in the room, it was available in the lounge on first floor. I would have preferred a room with a double bed; however,... More

This hotel is in a good location for Euston Station, I would say 5min walk and you're there. The staff in the hotel are friendly and even had the door opened for us by one of them. We stayed on the 6th floor and in a well sized room, the heat in the rooms and corridors got too hot at... More

This was a clean and well-placed hotel. Easy walk from Russel Square station, Piccadilly line from Heathrow. British Museum 5 minutes walk and Piccadilly 25 minutes walk. Good for both business and pleasure. No luxury but had a good night sleep

2nd stay at Tavistock and looking forward to returning. Rooms are basic but comfortable. After visiting last year we weren't expecting much from breakfast but were pleasantly surprised and enjoyed it. Staff are friendly and helpful, hotel bar is cheap and welcoming. Only issue we had is being kept awake from the noise from the bowling alley underneath the hotel,... More

This was my third stay all one night and all for business. Very good location, Russell square tube is About five min walk. The staff are helpful and polite. I did have an issue with them not finding my booking despite my having confirmation email although this was resolved quickly and without fuss. The room looked over Tavistock square and... More

Three night stay here in April, found the staff very helpful and approachable, restaurant staff very good where we had a free evening meal as part of the deal. I would have no hesitation in staying here again and recommending to others. Very reasonable prices and ample breakfast choices.

Staying in Bloomsbury

Neighborhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
