The German YMCA, aka Lancaster Hall, is located in a residential neighborhood, and is a 10 minute walk from Lancaster Gate Underground station (on the Central Line). Good location walking distance to Paddington and Lancaster stations. Variety restaurants and stores with fruits. Clean rooms, helpful staff. I had room with nice street view. Breakfast sufficient. Nice neighborhood

Superbly located just north of Hyde Park. Close to Lancaster Gate tube and with a number of good restaurants near by. We particularly liked Taormina. Simple functional bed room with all the usual facilities. Except shampoo. Breakfast was a scrum fest with all the Germans staying in the hostel, but the choice was great. I taught a seminar here for a weekend. It was warm and there was no air conditioning, but staff was friendly and helpful. It is a good location and easy to get to. Not far from Hyde Park. Nice shops in the area. Hotel is clean and easy to maneuver.

I returned to this hotel after 5 years. I still think that staying in Lancaster Hall Hotel is a wise choice. For just 90 pounds a night for three persons during the summer vacation, I would mark "excellent" for this hotel's location, cleaniness, breakfast, and "very good" for its service. This hotel is right down the street from Hyde Park, bus stops and underground railway locations. Customer service was wonderful and a nice European breakfast was included in the price.
