The hotel is located in a lovely area, Hampstead, with beautiful local shops, just next next to Hampstead Heath, one of the best parks in London. It is very quite and the old building looks very beautiful from the street. The restaurant space is also very nice. On the other hand the room was a bit small and not very... More

We were so pleased with our stay at La Gaffe which we found through a local friend. Lorenzo greeted us, showed us to our room then brought us coffee and tea. This hotel is truly one of a kind, no two rooms are the same, and a most atypical breakfast which was included. Our room was quite small and the... More

In the quite residential area of Hampstead, La Gaffe is a warm hotel where to spend a relaxing stay. The underground station is very close and you can get any place you want in a very short time. You will breathe the traditional Italian atmosphere talking with the owner (Lorenzo Stella) and his assistants. Breakfast is lovely and we also... More

La gaffe goes far beyond your conventional concept of a hotel. La gaffe actually transforms your experience of the city. In the midst of the picturesque Hampstead village, a few meters from the legendary Heath, lies the very embodiment of the thought that crossed god's mind when he invented family boutique hotels. I could have gone on and on about... More

Family run small hotel. On a rather busy street (cross carefully) but with a room in the back you won't hear a thing. The main problem I had was the stuffiness of the room. I came at the end of a heatwave and even when the heat broke the room remained hot. I guess because even with an overhead fan... More

LaGaffe is a small inn and Italian restaurant nicely situated in Hampstead, well away from the tourist crush of central London. We stayed there several times in the past, going back to the late 90's, and recently returned early in June. We were delighted to find that LaGaffe has retained its special qualities. LaGaffe a wonderful place to stay, and... More

My wife and I visited England, Belgium and the Netherlands and August and September, 2014. We've been a bit busy since then and are just now catching up on posting reviews. We chose La Gaffe based primarily based on Trip Advisor reviews. The Hampstead location was ideal for us - close to the city but in a quieter, less hectic... More

This hotel was perfect for our recent trip to London. It was very close to a Tube station. They provided everything we needed, including a wonderful breakfast. Everything was exceptional! The restaurant was amazing with wonderful food, wine, dessert and the coffee was the best we had in the area.

I stayed at La Gaffe on two occasions in June. Both rooms were very well appointed and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious with a lot to choose from. The restaurant serves excellent dinners as well. Lorenzo and his staff were so helpful and go out of their way to help their guests in any way they can. Hampstead is a lovely,... More

La Gaffe is a family-run and owned small business in the heart of Hampstead (in my opinion, one of London's most wonderful neighbourhoods). So location-wise, you're already doing well. The place is owned and run by Lorenzo, who is incredibly helpful, and Giuseppe (his right hand man) will make you a great cappuccino. The rooms themselves are compact, but -... More
