This is a wonderful B&B in a great location! Hampstead is one of our favorite boroughs of London! The staff and owner were very accommodating. Due to air travel delays, we arrived at La Gaffe much later than we expected, and the owner waited up for us to arrive at no extra cost. The room was clean and quaint. There... More

The position is perfect, 5 min walk from the tube and very close hampstead heath. A family run hotel in the heart of Hampstead at a very reasonable price with buffet breakfast. The ground floor is the restaurant (Italian). The restaurant servers excellent food. We ate in the restaurant on the evening of our arrival and had a good meal... More

We were traveling with three children and booked two rooms. The rooms have small bathrooms. Clean, nice beds. The staff are very hospitable and the place is small and have an atmosphere of the old days. It is very nice to live a bit outside of the busy center when traveling with kids. It is a family business which gives... More

We stayed at this hotel for four nights and booked it based on its location in the heart of Hampstead. It was a very pleasant surprise to find such a place with character, rich history, warm, friendly and hospitable staff that made us feel welcome. The rooms are clean, basic and functional, breakfast is adequate and coffee great. The tube... More

This really is a very special place. La Gaffe has been in business for 53 years as the press clippings on the wall testify. It is a small, independent family business which is embedded in the life of its local business community and which is quite exceptional in what it does. At first sight you could easily under estimate La... More

London can be too expensive so it's good to find a reasonably priced and charming place to stay. Great as well to stay at an independent rather than a soulless chain hotel. Stairs may be difficult if you have mobility problems. Hampstead itself is an unusual and interesting part of London (it has hills for one thing), and you should... More

The heart of Hampstead village is a charming place to stay with the convenience of the tube nearby. Staying on the main street side of the building does add some traffic noise, but doesn't interfere with a comfortable night's sleep. The staff members were all warm and hospitable. Breakfast was especially good. And the restaurant's dinners were delicious. This is... More

I stayed recently, together with a few friends and can't think of anything negative to say whatsoever. The staff are so helpful and accommodating and would not hesitate in recommending it. The location is perfect - in a nice area with local amenities, but also very close to the tube station so getting around is easy. Will definitely be back.

Just returned from my third stay at La Gaffe and had to write another review, because this stay was as wonderful as the others. While the location is a top reason for staying at La Gaffe, Lorenzo and all of his staff are a very dedicated reason to return. It's so true what's been said in other reviews, coming back... More

We used to live just down the street from La Gaffe and regularly dined there and were never disappointed, the rack of lamb is something else! La Gaffe hosted our family from Australia and around the UK when we got married in 2012 and everyone loved it. We had no doubt where we would stay when we came back from... More
