If you love the quirky, the homely, the elegant, and the warm - in all senses - then look no further. I consider myself fortunate to have been welcomed into this delightful house, treated with great consideration for my own needs, yet never intruded upon. Each room has been fitted out in a unique and interesting way, with lots to... More

Stayed here for 4 nights in October. Was a bit dubious, as it has received mixed reviews. However, as a single female with a not-huge budget for accommodation I was more than happy with it. I didn't interact with Ann-Marie a lot, but when I did I had no problems. The amenities are 'quirky' but I wasn't in London to... More

hi there - i was there in dec for a long weekend sightseeing around London. The place is a gem - a ten minute hop from the tube stop - quiet and safe. We stayed in a three bed room - adequate in size - the bathroom/toilet was a bit cramped but fine for a short stay. Having said that... More

We stayed here in December for 3 nights. We were delighted with the place. It has so much character - very different to the normal soulless hotels you can find. The location is second to none - in beautiful Hampstead village very close to the wonderful Hampstead Heath (nicest park in London). It is on a very quiet road which... More

The lodgings here are very overpriced. Worse yet was the fact that I ended up paying double the (very overpriced) cab fare from Heathrow because the owners did not read the e-mail I had send (well in advance) regarding a cancellation of my flight. And, even worse yet, Ann-Marie, far from being apologetic, berated me for not having traveller's insurance... More

If you only feel at home in a 5-star hotel with a Caribbean style pool or at least a state-of-the-art bathroom with digitally remastered water temperature and flatscreen near the toilet, please choose one of these Kensington places. But, if you fancy staying in a Victorian lodging where you can live in truly British style, with the unexpected always lurking... More

This couple (Ann Marie and her mute husband) masquerade as hoteliers. Basically they have a big house and rent their chinzy rooms out for a bit of pocket money. We stayed in a double, the duvet was far too small and didn't reach across the bed! The breakfast was tiny, one sorry looking sausage one egg and one chewy bit... More

"The Gaia Foundation entertains many visitors from abroad and if we cannot accommodate them in our own house we turn to the Hampstead Village Guest House.  This is one of London's best kept secrets, and it is a real 'home from home'.  Recently one of our close colleagues from South Africa, with his wife and two young boys stayed for... This is the most wonderful, cozy, interesting place I have stayed at in London. The attention to the detail of the decor is amazing, with vintage furniture, extraordinary knick-knacks, William Morris wallpaper and so much more. Every time I stay, I start by exploring the room, which takes me about half an hour because there is so much to look... More

The Hampstead Village Guesthouse is a wonderful family owned place. I stayed there several times, and I always felt very comfortable and at home. It is situated in a lovely area close to Hampstead Heath with easy access to the centre of London. A little gem to stay at while you are visiting busy London.
