Our stay in 'The Corner House' was a unique experience. Joanna's kindness and hospitality was of great value to us. With it's ideal location, close to public transport and the Royal park of Greenwich, The Corner House is the perfect spot to explore London. The guesthouse is located just a few minutes walking from Greenwich centre, in a quite and... More

I spent four lovely days at "The Corner House". I arrived late in the evening and Joanna gave me biscuits and fresh fruit, it made me feel at home straight away. The room is cosy and comfortable, with a lovely view of the park and breakfast is delicious and very filling, I only needed a sandwich at lunchtime! Joanna parla... More

I have stayed here on a number of occasions on business and find Joanna very welcoming and accommodating. House is centrally located in Greenwich and is walking distance to the train station and off course to the beautiful Greenwich Park. Breakfasts are amazing and the decor is something between vintage and chic. Would suit couples wanting to get away for... More

A big thank you for all your hospitality. You extended me a very warm welcome and nothing seemed too much trouble - like the time Bill brought me breakfast in bed because i wasn't feeling well. I loved your well-appointed rooms and the fact that the corner house is in the centre of Greenwich. Obviously, you take great pride in... More

Stayed here for two nights just a couple of weeks ago and absolutely loved it, the location and the hospitality. The decor of this bed and breakfast is stylish and chic, with very expensive travertine flooring which can adds lots of charachter to the room. To the less sofisticated eye the natural veins in the "marble" could look "shabby". We... More

My wife and I stayed in November 2011 and liked it so much we returned for a mini break in January 2012. Rather like settling into a comfy pair of slippers the accommodation is cosy, warm and inviting. Breakfasts that burst my new year resolutions....lovely! Joanna, the owner, is very knowledgeable regarding local sights and exhibitions, and nothing was too... More

My partner and I have had the pleasure of staying at the Corner House now on two occasions. The property is perfectly located for exploring the beautiful surrounding area of Greenwich. We found our rooms extremely clean and well equipment - the antique furniture adding a special touch. The proprietor Joanna, was very welcoming, friendly and happy to suggest places... More

My wife and I stayed two nights in early December occupying the top floor en suite bedroom. The floor of the en suite was absolutely filthy. We had to cover it with towels to walk on it. No guest soap of any kind was provided. The water in the hot tap and shower ran either tepid and scalding by turns... More

We were very disappointed with The Corner House considering its price (£85 p/night for a twin room). I would say a price of half that is more reflective of the quality of the accommodation. Virtually everything was either grubby or broken, ie: unidentified liquid spilled all over bedside table, marks on bed linen, lamp not working, shower scalding hit with... More

The Corner House is perfectly placed to explore the wonderful Greenwich area, the history and beauty of the area has only come to our attention over the last 6 months and is worth a visit from any tourist to London. Joanna, our host, was friendly and helpful, her breakfast was to die for, sitting in the basement kitchen whilst she... More

Staying in Greenwich

Neighborhood Profile
Greenwich Mean Time starts here, so to speak, as the very concept of global time was established at Royal Observatory, just one of several buildings of architectural interest in Greenwich. Indeed, the whole of Greenwich's historic town center, its Royal Park and a number of related buildings (and one world famous ship, the Cutty Sark) make up the UNESCO World Heritage site known as Maritime Greenwich. Today a laser beam is shot out across the night sky from the Observatory to mark the location of the Prime Meridian. Other bold (some say brash) 21st century additions to the area include landmarks such as The O2 entertainment complex (previously known as the Millennium Dome) and the Air Line cable cars, which offer scenic transport across the Thames between North Greenwich and the Royal Docks.
