Location is near Lambeth North underground station, which makes the access to central London much easier than finding a hotel at the heart of the city. I must of been a bit confused with the streets in the area since there is about a 7 way intersection as soon as you exit the subway. The rooms are 3 tier bunk... More

We were staying in the soulless Day's Inn just next door, but I spotted the Steam Engine as we arrived so we looked in for lunch, and I'm pleased we did. We ate a most delicious four cheese pizza served with shakers of oregano and chilli flakes and drank a couple of pints of excellent Summer Lightning. There was a... More

Stay in a 12 room bunk room, sheets were clean but the was no place to put your backpack. The had lockers, but maybe 10 x 10 x 10 in size. In the morning the rooms were crowded with everyone and their bags. Besides that it was decent, free breakfast and wifi. The was a room downstairs were you could... More

The staff were incredibly rude. Shower was absolutely disgusting, no room for luggage as lockers were very small. The only thing that was ok about the hostel was the sleep was ok and clean bed sheets.

I could not say enough good things about The Steam Engine. We just checked out yesterday and we're already missing it. The rooms were clean, the beds comfortable, and the bar a real winner. However, the staff is really where this hostel shines. Not only are they approachable and friendly, they are helpful and kind. The free wifi, 10% off... More

My friend and I stayed in a 12 people room. There were 4 bunkbeds with 3 beds each. The beds were comfortable and the sheets seemed clean. There was no place to put you baggage, though. You had the option to leave them downstairs in a room next to the reception, or you could try to find a place for... More

The bartenders and employees were extremely helpful during my stay, and they offer 10% off drinks and food in addition to good service. The location is perfect also as it is extremely close to North Lambeth metro, only 4 stops from Piccadilly - ideal really! Free wifi, room was a little cramped but bed was super comfy and the vibes... More

The best were the employees and bartenders, nice people, also location is great, close to big ben, with free wifi, but the room was too tiny, 9 square meters for 12 people, we were like birds in a cage, no chairs or other staff apart from the beds. The toilets were not properly cleaned.

We spent 3 nights in this hostel. The rooms have lots of beds but the linnen is REALY clean! There are not to many toilets/showers which can be an inconvinience. Anyway, this hostel is in a such a great location! 5 minutes walk and you are walking throught Londond's attractions which is great because underground/bus tickets can get expensive... Breakfast...
