We went on a coach tour to London for the Mothers Day weekend. There were 49 people in our party and at our booked time we were ushered into a rather dark room with tables which seated 8. Our party were served by 2 members of staff who insisted on pouring everyone their first cup of tea or coffee. There... More

The reason I gave this review four instead of five stars os because like most hotels in London, the elevators are tiny. Also, the breakfast was good, but I have had better, at less expensive hotels in London. Although the hotel is a bit pricey, you pay for great location for sightseeing access. The staff was friendly and the hotel... More

We loved the Rubens Hotel. They took great care of us and helped us celebrate our anniversary with little surprises all along the way from a cake waiting in our room to a special anniversary tea beginning with champagne. The hotels location was perfect for what we wanted to see and do. We could walk everywhere if we wanted although... More

we were here for a 2 night break in February, great location, overlooks side entrance to Buckingham Palace, friendly staff, really nicely decorated bedroom, fantastic deluge shower in bathroom, very good selection at breakfast, not one of these buffet's where you keep coming round to the same food again and again. Included in our stay was afternoon tea, normal price is... More

I've eaten at the Rubens before but had never stayed. The quality of the hotel is astonishing given its location and the price. The room we had wasn't large but was perfectly comfortable and well equipped. Even though we were on the Buckingham Palace Road side of the hotel it was quiet in the room. Staff are excellent and the... More

The hotel is located in a very central area, very accessible to most major sites. The rooms are small by American standards but well furnished, clean and decorated nicely. The staff was very helpful and polite. I have to say that the restaurant was a good treat. We enjoyed tea time and two dinners in the bar area. The food... More

We had not been in London for fun in a number of years. Friends had warned how expensive it has gotten but we were still surprised at how pricey things have become. The Rubens was a nice choice for us. We booked early and were able to obtain a nice discount. The room was small but very well appointed. The... More

From alighting from our taxi to be met by the most wonderful concierge we were made to feel like royalty. All of the staff were incredibly helpful with genuine smiles and sincere greetings. Breakfast had a wonderful array to choose from and once again we were served by very attentive staff.

Stayed here during a work trip. This place was quite nice and convenient. There are restaurants and shops walking distance. You can pretty much stay here, wake up and run out to the Victoria Memorial to witness the change of guards in less than 5 minutes. Loved the stay and wished it was longer and not a business trip.

Having spent three nights at the Rubens, I have to say it was rather nice. The decor feels a little old fashioned but its meant to feel that way. The breakfast was great and the afternoon tea we got was also wonderful. When we arrived our room wasn't quite ready, but a complimentary drink was offered whilst we waited, which... More

Staying in Westminster

Neighborhood Profile
Westminster
If you only had an afternoon to experience London on a grand scale, Westminster would be a wise place to start. The ornate Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey sit adjacent at a corner of Parliament Square, and a short stroll along The Mall leads to Buckingham Palace. Trafalgar Square and Nelson's Column are just up the road as well. As captivating as the architecture is, the wonders of Mother Nature are highlights of the area too. St James's Park (arguably London's loveliest), the expansive Green Park, and pedestrian friendly tree lined paths along the river showcase the exquisite manicure provided by English gardeners. Just beyond the landmarks and the gorgeous outdoor spaces, quiet residential squares and age old local pubs offer a more subdued take on this global seat of power in the heart of London.
