Stayed one night on the way to a wedding and found the hotel was in a great location to get to after flying into Gatwick from Dubai and then getting the Gatwick express to Victoria and then having a short 3min walk to the hotel from Victoria. As per usual with a more pricey London hotel, the staff were very... More

We stayed here in June for one night for my birthday and I have to say, the staff were faultless. I love the Traditional appearance, which is nice for a change after staying in more contemporary hotels My partner booked for us to have champagne and canapés in the bar, which as it was the afternoon we had to ourselves.... This hotel was the best experience you could ask for...I had injured my leg very badly on the ride in from Dover and I was unable to walk. The hotel staff came out to the bus and assisted getting me off and into a wheelchair. They then helped my husband to get me settled and sent up ice and kept... More

This is a classic boutique hotel located next to the rear entrance of the palace mews. It's around 5 minutes walk away from the Victoria tube station and another 5 minutes to the bus station. It's a great location to stay in town whilst watching a show in the theaters nearby. The building is old (as to be expected) with... More

Dear Guest, thank you for your review. I am really happy to read that you liked the boutique nature of the Hotel. We are a more traditional style, which we do feel is not only ideal for our location, neighbouring Buckingham Palace, but which we feel sets us apart from more modern Hotels in London. We hope that the regal... More

Stopped for drinks and lunch before taking the tour at Buckingham Palace, which is a stone's throw away. The pan fried Croque Monsieur is delicious. Very pleased with our meal, hotel is lovely, as well.

First visit to The Rubens. Nearest tube station to the hotel is Victoria which was heaving with people beyond belief and also a long walk from the tube to above ground. Not one of my preferred tube stations. Arrived early but the hotel had a room ready for us (room 323). The room was awkward shaped, and was decorated in... More

I recently traveled to London with two friends from the United States. We wanted to do a traditional afternoon tea, and we chose The Rubens at the palace based on its reviews. Staying in Westminster

Neighborhood Profile
Westminster
If you only had an afternoon to experience London on a grand scale, Westminster would be a wise place to start. The ornate Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey sit adjacent at a corner of Parliament Square, and a short stroll along The Mall leads to Buckingham Palace. Trafalgar Square and Nelson's Column are just up the road as well. As captivating as the architecture is, the wonders of Mother Nature are highlights of the area too. St James's Park (arguably London's loveliest), the expansive Green Park, and pedestrian friendly tree lined paths along the river showcase the exquisite manicure provided by English gardeners. Just beyond the landmarks and the gorgeous outdoor spaces, quiet residential squares and age old local pubs offer a more subdued take on this global seat of power in the heart of London.
