We arrived to a shock, a water main had burst directly outside the hotels therefore the kind London Bobby would not give us access to Rubens despite the fact we were standing virtually next to it, eventually one kind man wearing an Alice band guided us in through the tradesmans entrance, and still remembered to make us welcome. The hotel... More

We had afternoon Tea here yesterday. The food and tea were both delicious and the attention to detail was second to none. Our waitress "Maisie" was delightful and made our experience so enjoyable. During our visit there was a major water-leak right outside in view of all, at first gushing 8 foot into the air and causing a flood in... More

I had arranged a night out with a large group of friends and to make it more of an event decided to stay over. Being a member of Secret Escapes proved very fruitful as they had the Rubens on offer at very short notice for a Saturday night. Prior to arrival I contacted the Hotel re parking to be pleasantly... Staff was very nice and helpful. Hotel itself is interesting place with high standard and amazing attention to the detail. In terms of the food both people who like English cuisine and who are not fans of it will find something for themselves. Location is also a big advantage (close to Victoria station, parks and Trafalgar Square) what in London... More

My husband and I chose this hotel as we wanted to be near Victoria station. We were going on the Belmond British Pullman so stayed here the night before and the night after. It was our 25th wedding anniversary, which the hotel found out about as my mother called them to order champagne in the room. The hotel supplied us... More

Initially booked a themed room, but needed more space and changed for a suite. Brilliant, the service could not have been better!! We stayed for 3 days. The staff helped with all our queries and we booked visits to the Tower, and a limo tour of London. The location is fantastic, just a short walk to Buckingham Palace. A faultless... More

Staying in Westminster

Neighborhood Profile
Westminster
If you only had an afternoon to experience London on a grand scale, Westminster would be a wise place to start. The ornate Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey sit adjacent at a corner of Parliament Square, and a short stroll along The Mall leads to Buckingham Palace. Trafalgar Square and Nelson's Column are just up the road as well. As captivating as the architecture is, the wonders of Mother Nature are highlights of the area too. St James's Park (arguably London's loveliest), the expansive Green Park, and pedestrian friendly tree lined paths along the river showcase the exquisite manicure provided by English gardeners. Just beyond the landmarks and the gorgeous outdoor spaces, quiet residential squares and age old local pubs offer a more subdued take on this global seat of power in the heart of London.
