Normally steering clear of London hotels owing to the ridiculous costs, this hotel was used on a work trip. The foyer and restaurant spaces are airy and spacious - nice breakfast. The room had a generous size - big old windows on the first floor and the feeling of a classic hotel. Only criticism is the slipperiness of the steps... More

We booked this hotel as a deal through Travelzoo as we were attending a concert at the Royal Albert Hall which is just a ten minute stroll away from the Regency. The location is good for Kensington and local attractions with plenty of good restaurants and bars. South Kensington station is just a five minute walk away. Check in at... More

In terms of price, location and general comfort this is a very good hotel. Added extras for the wifi (average speeds) and gym(poor equipment) are a bit off putting but I use this hotel for work trips, so essential. The rooms are quite nice and contemporary. The lack of bathroom shaver plug is odd. The staff at reception are efficient... More

We spent a night in Regency and everything was absolutely fine. Good, south ken location, next to metro station, buses, taxis etc. Nice interiors, fully renovated in European style. I would prefer maybe more English touch, but the room (executive) was spacey, well decorated. I only did not found a hair dryer. Very nice view on Queens gate street. Warm... More

This hotel is well placed to visit all the attractions good access to the tube (5mins walk). It's very clean, rooms are reasonable size and very comfortable. It was also quiet so a good nights sleep was had after a long day in town..would deinetley recommend this hotel.

Hotel is listed as 4* - its clean and modern and to be fair, in a great location and only 5 min walk from tube station. When you check in you will be asked to pay a £50 deposit. We advised on booking that we were visiting for our 5 year anniversary and whilst i know this is compulsory other... More

Nice hotel in a good location in South Kensington. I was upgraded on arrival and had a large room with a king size bed. Modern and clean with a decent size bathroom. Only negative was the shower which was very poor. Really nice area with loads of bars and restaurants within a 5 minute walk.

A 4-star hotel, clean, in a nice neighbourhood (lots of bars, pubs and restaurants around). Walking distance (5 min) from the tube. Staff is really friendly and kind. The room is well organized, the bathroom is small (but you're not looking for a dancefloor either !). The continental breakfast is served in a great room (too bad there is no... More

I really did expect more from this hotel. Let me start with the pro's: 1. Great Location. Walking distance to Kensington High Street station, a quick cab ride to Shepherd's Bush. There are great bars and restaurants and the Natural history Museum isn't far away either. 2. Clean 3. Friendly staff, although not overly so 4. Nice view Con's: I... More

Staying in South Kensington

Neighborhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
