Hotel is in a good location with Gloucester road and south kensington tube stations both a few minutes walk. Reception staff were ok, not the most friendly or helpful in the world, just ok. Room was nice and nothing wrong with the size of the room as others have mentioned. We thought it was an average sized room for London.... More

The reception staff were robotic, giving their information and not actually listening to the question. "And how do I get to the room please?", "You are in room 306", "But where is that?". And then proceeds to look at me like I'm thick and points towards lifts around the corner... Room was good, small but well equipped. Very comfortable bed.... More

lovely hotel, rooms are a good size. you don't go to London to sit in them all day anyway! so I don't see why there is complaints of small rooms! bathroom lovely! high standard of finishes in the room and hotel throughout! staff were very friendly! tea and coffee in the room and a kettle! lovely lighting around the bed!... Rooms are very small. Small than anywhere else that I have stayed. 2 people in one room can't move. One should stop and let the second one move ))). View from rooms is nothing. Windows are so small. Breakfast was so so. Only personal is working good. Service is ok. Nothing related with staff. But for overall hotel is bad.... More

Very good hotel, we enjoyed our stay, the staff were polite and helpful, there was a problem with the room key which did take sometime to sort, however everything was clean and the hotel is well sited.

We stayed at the Regency Hotel on 22/23 July, a date now graven in our memories. First impressions were not good. On arrival, no-one smiled, not one (we were just back from a Swiss Hotel on the Italian Rvievere where it was smiles at every turn). Reception a bit reminiscent of British Rail in the bad old days. Room looked... More

I haven't stayed here for three years and it wasn't as bad as I remembered 1. Location very good to South Kensington tube station and some on the road parking which I was lucky enough to park for three days right outside the front 2. Staff still there was three years ago but some of the staff on reception needs... More

As with many hotel rooms in Europe, those in this hotel were quite small, but sufficient. The desk staff, restaurant breakfast, and cleanliness were first rate. The location was superb as the hotel is in a residential area with many fine restaurants and shopping within walking distance. The Royal Albert Hall is also close by.

We stayed at this hotel as part of a tour. The location was excellent - we could walk to many museums and shopping. There was a tube station a couple blocks away so we could easily get anywhere we wanted. The room was small but functional. The bed was comfortable. Wifi was 10 pounds for the entire stay. No mini... Tiny room, small bed. I have staying in better travel lodges. Extremely disappointing for the cost of the room. Had two unexpected visits from the cleaners during our one night stay, 3.30pm and 9am! I will not be staying here again, much better options in the area.

Staying in South Kensington

Neighborhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
