Well located hotel offering an excellent two-level suite. Review based on a one night stay in February (background of spending 80+ nights per year in different hotels around the globe). Location: The immediate neighborhood is residential but there’s a bunch of restaurants, bars and shops close by especially near the Gloucester Road tube station. This is clearly a very expensive... I took my adult family to London for the weekend and chose the hotel for location and Hilton brand assurance. The rooms were very new and clean, the service was good up until breakfast on Sunday morning which was a joke. Very few staff, dirty tables uncleared (50%) so lots of queuing for us and then no service and the... More

Me and my girlfriend stayed here last valentines. We arrived mid afternoon after a long train journey to see happy staff ready to check us in. Very nice hotel situated in the heart of Kensington. Rooms are nicely decorated and equipped with everything you need. We decide to go out for dinner so we didn't get to try anything for... More

I was a little wary after booking due to some of the negative reviews posted here but my own experience was wholly positive, all the more so as my room rate was very reasonable for the location and quality of this hotel. Good points: + Friendly efficient service from all of the staff (front desk, housekeeping and restaurant) + Excellent... More

Ask for a quiet room at the back of the hotel; it's definitely worth it. Rooms are very comfortable, clean and well presented. The hotel is perfectly placed for the Museums and shopping in Kensington and the underground station is about five minutes walk away. Staff are friendly and courteous; it's a good place to stay.

A good hotel, well placed for sightseeing, but in a quiet location. Clean and comfortable, Queen room a bit on the small side. A good buffet breakfast. Spacious and airy lounge and dining room. I recommend this hotel for a London trip.

This hotel drags the Hilton name through the dirt. The reception staff were kind and courteous and, when our first room smelt of sewage upon entering, they moved us to another room promptly. However, this was the only positive of our visit and shouldn't have been necessary. We had no supply of cold drinking water, a basic human amenity, as... More

Aircon didn't work and the room was above an aircon plant which was so loud we could hardly sleep! Funnily enough the aircon in the room didn't really work! Rooms are full with old furniture also which isn't very nice considering it was a top room.

My husband and I stayed for one night at this hotel. We had never stayed in Hilton's Doubletree brand before and I was very pleasantly surprised by the room, which had obviously been recently decorated, with its separated lounge area and bedroom (both with TV's). There was no bath, but the shower was great and the bathroom was spotless. There... More

Staying in South Kensington

Neighborhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
