Shabby maintenance of rooms (carpet probably OK 50 years ago); noisy machines 24 hrs a day just at the rooms window, etc. Bathroom OK. Breakfast good service but the offer ideally suited for some anorexic guest; butter seems to be a luxury item you have to ask for, etc., etc.

We stayed here for one night, after returning from Paris. The hotel is in a fantastic little neighborhood, which is walking distance to more bustling areas. The hotel itself is very nice -- I would stay here again if my budget allows for it.

Small and friendly hotel, made to feel very welcome and service in bar and restaurant excellent, though a little expensive, but that was expected. Towels were changed each day, spotlessly clean, comfortable bed, flat screen t.v./wifi, tea, coffee in room, also hairdryer, trouser press, just about everything has been thought of. Easy access to bars, restaurants, shops, theatres, parks or... More

The rooms are small, and what is incredible, is that they charge a daily fee for wifi. The piped music during breakfast is too loud. However the staff are very helpful and amendable, the rooms and shower clean. Make sure you ask for a bedroom at the back, as they clear the dustbins every morning at around 4.30, and there... More

Nice small hotel. friendly staff. Good breakfast. Excellent location. My single room small but just sufficient. Lots of nice restaurants close by. A very nice area, both for shopping and the British museum.

We booked this hotel after booking a show in the West End and were not disappointed. Ideally situated, about £8 from Kings Cross by taxi and walking distance to shops and bars. We had a couple of drinks in the bar, not overly priced for London, we also had room service, which came quickly and was hot and tasty. Continental... More

I had used the Rathbone in the past but not for a couple of years. It is in a great location, you could eat out in a different restaurant every night for a couple of weeks without walking more than 200 yards. Thankfully nothing had changed, the staff are friendly, the beds comfortable and fitted with good quality linen, the... More

The staff really make this hotel. Stayed for 2 nights recently and nothing was too much trouble. Twin room, small and spotless though bathroom a tad tight! Vey centrally situated with lots of nice cafes and restaurants nearby. Would recommend this hotel. As we booked direct with the hotel wi fi was free.
