Even before we arrived we knew that this was going to be a good weekend as Daisy had already e mailed to check whether we needed anything. It was a combined anniversary/birthday weekend and The Montcalm didnt disappoint. We were warmly welomed when we arrived by all the team and Daisy then told us she had arranged an upgrade for... Stayed 4 nights, my colleague moved across to the main Montcalm at size of room, but I thought looked nice spec despite being small. Over 4 days been less impressed - raw plugs showing behind curtains, broken window lock, wobbly tiles in bathroom, noise & smoke coming from next door (hence discovered window lick just). Not 5* in my opinion... More

This Hotel is an eclectic mix of new and old, it reminds you of times gone by, especially with the charming doormen and includes some real unexpected quirks, (I'll come back to that). The location is perfect to explore this part of London, the surrounding back streets are filled with incredible and individual restaurants and bars, allowing you to diversify... More

Really quite disappointed with the location of this hotel, not really central to anywhere, not a lot happening near by. Marble Arch tube station just a short stroll, so that was ok. Hotel quite nice, but stayed in the rooms opposite the main hotel, again disappointed with this. To be fair room was nice and immaculately presented, bathroom was rather... More

We cannot fault the Montcalm hotel one bit. From the moment my husband arrived really early and was made to feel really welcome when room wasn't ready to when the housekeeper accidentally threw away some facial products (travel samples) only to be replaced by a whole gift of full sized products. Laura has been truly amazing in looking after us.... More

This Hotel cannot even complete a booking without making a catalogue of errors. Quoted for a room that was not possible to take the number of guests who intended to stay in it. Rates changed and never in line with website prices When calling central reservations no-one can help you they say someone will email - they don't! Finally got... More

We were given a very large room - two double beds. So we had loads if space which is unusual for some London hotels. Lots of useful features in the room, USB charging ports, iPod dock and player, good quality hairdryer amongst other things. A trouser press in the room would have been useful for my partner's clothes. We had... More

I consider myself relatively well travelled and have stayed in some great hotels around the world - the Montcalm at Marble Arch ranks up there with the very best. As always it starts with the staff, and they were all excellent: courteous, professional and knowledgeable. Special thanks to Laura who looked after us from start to finish. We were lucky... More

Lacking in amenities, but clean rooms (albeit small), friendly service, free wifi (that actually works...) and location very close to Marble Arch tube station make it very good value for money, particularly for business travelers - easy access to the the West End, the City and Canary Wharf.

Staying in Marylebone

Neighborhood Profile
Marylebone
Marylebone offers what so many London neighborhoods cannot: a village feel coupled with urban convenience. Much of its success rests in its location. Wedged between the northeastern corner of Hyde Park and the southern end of Regent's Park and with a number of Tube stations within easy reach, Marylebone is as pedestrian friendly as Central London gets. The bustling shopping mecca of Oxford Street separates it from Soho and Mayfair, exclusive Regent Street marks its border with Fitzrovia, and cosmopolitan Edgware Road serves as its western edge. Within this enviably situated quarter are an array of outstanding restaurants (from Michelin darlings to down and dirty cheeseburgers), an impressive assortment of independently owned shops, and some of the city's quietest and most pleasant nooks, crannies and cobbled lanes.
