We booked a room at this hotel for 2 nights. We found quite a good deal on bookings.com and paid £300 for a standard double room for the Friday and Saturday night. The hotel looked lovely in the pictures so we were excited to stay here and it was in a good location. Our taxi driver couldn't find the hotel... More

First surprise : I've booked a room for the Shaftesbury Suites London Marble Arch (n°41), but as it was apparently full, I had a room in the Marble Arch (n°31 same street)... Nobody informed me about this during the booking, so when I arrived at n°31 (noted as Shaftesbury Suites on my booking..), we finally had to go to the... More

Myself and my partner stayed there on New Year's Eve after reading many good reviews. The hotel itself is excellent and in a prime location but the reason I'm giving it a bad rating is because our entire corridor reek of cigarettes when we first got to our room and the smell infested everything so we decided to leave as... Ok hotell close to Oxford street. The rooms were nice but claustrophobic. Breakfast ok. Service at the desk...well they need more training. Check-in took a long time and they never explained why...we just had to wait and wait.

Perfect location. Staff is very freindly and providing all necessary assistance without any delay. Internec connection is stable and of good quality. Single room is small, but very clean, confortable and providing all necessary facilities for short term staying. Good selection of TV channels with many languiges.

Booked a weeks stay via internet only to find I was staying at the poor and much smaller hotel across the street with a similar name. The room was tiny, basement level and obviously had been a smoking room cause it smelled horrid. I suggest strongly checking out accomodation before committing, it was an expensive mistake.

Check in was friendly but slow. Then I got the room 916 and I thought great a room on a high floor. Unfortunately they seem to count the floors in reverse order and I landed in a small room with a high up window because the room was almost in the basement. In addition one could hear every word from... More

Staying in Marylebone

Neighborhood Profile
Marylebone
Marylebone offers what so many London neighborhoods cannot: a village feel coupled with urban convenience. Much of its success rests in its location. Wedged between the northeastern corner of Hyde Park and the southern end of Regent's Park and with a number of Tube stations within easy reach, Marylebone is as pedestrian friendly as Central London gets. The bustling shopping mecca of Oxford Street separates it from Soho and Mayfair, exclusive Regent Street marks its border with Fitzrovia, and cosmopolitan Edgware Road serves as its western edge. Within this enviably situated quarter are an array of outstanding restaurants (from Michelin darlings to down and dirty cheeseburgers), an impressive assortment of independently owned shops, and some of the city's quietest and most pleasant nooks, crannies and cobbled lanes.
