We stayed here for three nights to enjoy the holidays in London. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The room was clean and cozy and compared to the rates of other London hotels I think it's a good, safe, quiet and convenient place to stay. My understanding is some of the rooms are getting updated so we will be... More

I stayed in a double room on the top floor of this smallish (about 25 room) hotel in November 2015. The room was in good condition, and large for London, and the staff were all very helpful and professional. While the decor was a bit old fashioned, everything was very comfortable. Although the hotel isn't terribly close to any attractions,... More

The inclusive breakfast does have coffee, muesli and toast but it also includes croissants, 2 types of cereal, porridge/oatmeal, yoghurt, 2 cheeses, salami, ham, 3 types of juice, 2 types of yoghurt and fresh fruit. Stayed 10 nights. Clean, quiet, comfortable, only four blocks from Earl's Court underground station and easy access to sights. High Street Kensington is only a 5-minute walk. Lots of great dining options within 4-5 blocks. Friendly, accommodating staff. This is a gem.

The room was quite small and is not too far from needing an upgrade, but it was very clean and tidy and I enjoyed my stay. The location is great and is only a few minutes' walk from tube and bus stations. The staff were friendly and helpful.

My single room (no 14) was really old and tired and very small. If you are taller then 6 feet (180 cm) like me, then bed is too short and narrow for you. View from windows is melancholic. From TV you can find only local channels and not any music channel. There is a fridge with expensive minibar. It was... More

Chose this hotel basically because it was close to Earl court tube station and cheap for London. This made it easy to get around London, and a straight shot in the tube to the airport (LHR- be aware of tube hours!). Stayed in a single room. This is a basic accommodation. Room was tiny, but as expected. Was a little... More

Dear Travellingmike167, Thank you for your review and opinions. Dues to the age of the property, 1880, all our rooms are different sizes and we have styled them all differently too. I hope that you would give us the opportunity to show you a double room by bringing your girlfriend one day! Warmest regards, Lea More

Never before has any reception staff ever been so rude... Room booked by hubby, insisted on knowing my full name too (never before has that been requested at any hotel) and manner was so very rude as noted above. Suggested we might 'forget to pay' for items from the mini bar so a deposit would be taken. Horrid noisy room,... More

This hotel is about a ten minute walk from the tube. The room was adequate. The shower was no more than 3ft x 3ft and blinds that barely covered the window. The continental breakfast was ample and the servers were friendly. Even though there is a lift, the room was down/up a few stairs.

Wonderful location, clean, friendly staff. My third stay here and I will return. Well done guys....and gals. Perfect stay in a single room with all the necessary amenities. 5 Minute walk from Earls Court Station. And they offered me the service of storing my excess shopping till I returned to London. Fantastic... allowed me to shop some more in Italy....

Very clean and centrally located hotel. I must mention the receptionist. I cannot remember her name, but she was Spanish. She went out of her way to be friendly and helpful each day. After breakfast she would ask us about here we going today, and make recommendations.

Staying in South Kensington

Neighborhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
