This past weekend we stayed in a basement room that was not on the street side. I have no clue what the larger rooms are like so i can't comment. I paid $160 for a small room with two twin beds for my traveling companion and me. I wouldn't say it's four star by Aussie standards - the room was really, really small, but this is typical of Europe, and the decor was nothing special - just basic.
