Stayed for one night (Saturday) to see a show and do touristy stuff with my friend! Got to hotel and realised we had booked a double instead of a twin. No problem, they switched us straight away, no extra charge. Room wasn't ready as we were really early so they stored our luggage (free) and we went exploring. When we... More

Great value hotel very close to the Natural History museum. Very friendly. We visited and were upgraded to suites on entry and wee very pleased with the outcome. The rooms were roomy with a separate TV room, queen sized bed and walk-in shower. Breakfast on our deal was only an extra £5 (deal with Secret Escapes) and was brill. Bar... More

Nobody speaks Spanish so the deal was null, treat family like criminals because they charge before setting foot in the room, small room, small bath, single bed which is actually a very expensive uncomfortable couch for services offering,In Spain would have neither a star. I never will, london is very expensive and stinks of rotten oil. In forty-three years he... More

Rydges hotel in Kensington, London, is an excellent hotel. The room was very comfortable (the bed was excellent), and the hotel's location 1/2 block from the Gloucester Road tube station is very convenient. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. We will recommend this hotel to friends.

We have stayed here a number of times when visiting London and find the location ( very near Glocester Road tube) and the friendliness of the staff make this a great experience. A highlight for us is always the breakfast in the Jam Cupboard restaurant. Would recommend if wanting to stay in the Kensington area. Also very near to the... More

Rydges is a boutique hotel located a few minutes walk from the Gloucester Road underground station. This makes it extremely convenient for travelers since there's a direct ride on the Picadilly line to Heathrow and easy connections on the District, Circle, and Picadilly lines to most of the major museums and sights of London. You can easily walk to Victoria... More

A stayed in an Executive King room. The room was not tiny for central London standards, but was not at all big. Considering this was supposed to be an executive room I was disappointed and dread to think what a standard double is like. I was on the 4th floor and could hear a dull background noise from the traffic.... More

On the whole, this is a well located, smart, London Hotel with a good breakfast and excellent bathrooms. However, we booked 5 weeks prior to our visit and were put in a room in the basement. The room (no 10), has a large damp patch on the wall and looks out into an open basement, which is dirty and has... More

I was staying owing to work commitments and was booked in to a small single room, however on arrival, after a very long day, the exceptionally friendly and accommodating staff explained that they had upgraded me as they had had the availability. This was not something they needed to do, but did and made my stay very pleasurable. During the... More

Staying in South Kensington

Neighborhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
