The hotel and staff were great. Rooms very spacious and comfortable and breakfast was great. Very close to tube line and access to London. This is the second time I've stayed there and will certainly go back again. My Omni membership also secured me an upgrade to my room.

I stay at the Rydges regularly for business and they always provide nice touches like room upgrades and complimentary water on arrival. The rooms are clean, comfortable and reasonably nicely decorated. The location is convenient near Gloucester Road tube station and restaurants / shops. The food at the Jam Cupboard is very decent and good value if you don't feel... More

Great location in prime area. Stayed in king suite, plenty of room for 3 adults. King bed very comfortable, sofa bed could've been better. Fantastic staff,in particular the front desk. Katrina in the Polo Club was great too. I'd recommend the Rydges !

We stayed here with friends on an annual get together. Booking was easy via a discount web site, so do your homework to avoid the 'rack rate '. The hotel is in very good order with friendly, helpful reception staff. Our room was on the intimate side with one design feature which we found annoying. Being an old building, the... More

Great little hotel stayed here March 19th till 22nd. Location fantastic, easy access to tube and bus services. I am trying to find something negative to say about this hotel and the only one that comes to mind is the "bath towels are too small!" We did not eat here so can not comment plenty of eateries around, I most... More

The hotel is directly opposite the Gloucester Street tube station, which serves three different lines and therefore guarantees easy access to all parts of the city. There are restaurants, shops and supermarkets around. The rooms are small but lovely, and the bed is very comfy! The hotel is in an old building, which is the reason why floors may crack... More

Good service at check-in. Breakfast is not as good as last year, but still good value. Room was a good size, but privacy curtains would be good as bus stop was opposite window - hence either daylight in room with everyone looking in or dark but private. Internet speed was average for a hotel but was included in price. Excellent... More

I recently stayed here from February 20 - February 26 2015. As mentioned in the title, I felt very safe in this hotel and neighborhood; I felt safe enough to go out at night after 9:00 pm. The Gloucester Rd train station is very close to the hotel so walking back to the hotel after 11:00 pm gave me no... More

If you love staying in boutique hotels like the ones in New York and LA, I highly recommend the Rydges in London. I have stayed in this hotel several times and really have enjoyed it. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Like in many boutique hotels the rooms are on the small side, but what I love about this... More

I came to London this week with my family for the first time. We had no idea what to expect- only knew that as we tried to do our research and find our way before hand on the internet there were many more scams and confusing websites than there were assured good deals. We came across Rydges because they appeared... More

Staying in South Kensington

Neighborhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
