There was nothing wrong with this hotel but nothing spectacular either. It was very centrally located (tube station close and near to Kensington Gardens, V&A, Ken High Street etc.), clean and fairly modern so will suit a lot of people. However, for someone enjoys a bit of character and boutique style hotels, it felt a bit bland. Probably a better... More

Lovely room, comfy beds and superb location. However, avoid rooms on ground floor. Our window looked directly on to a busy kitchen, the staff were so close they even waved at us. We had to keep the curtains closed. The noise of a huge fan just below the window was quite off putting and irritating too. My sister had a... More

I can't say enough about the wonderful, caring service I received throughout my five night stay. I arrived with my granddaughter and her friend after 3 flight delays and cancellations, and without our luggage! Needless to say, I was stressed out. The sympathy and kindness I received from the Rydges personnel was outstanding, especially Janel and Yema. We loved everything... More

Well located in South Kensington for the V&A, Natural History & Science museum’s. Nearby is Gloucester Road tube station so getting around London is a breeze. We had a family room, although small was good for the two nights we had. Get in for breakfast early as you can end up waiting which we did on the first day.

Booked a room for a trip to visit family with my sister. We arrived in London early and got to the hotel at around 9am. Even though it was way before the check-in time, the receptionist was very friendly in checking us in early so we can refresh and explore the city earlier. She even went out of the way... More

I really tried to look for the positive before writing this review but I couldn't. After a long haul from Sydney I arrived early in the morning, one plus was the convenience to the tube. That was quickly forgotten as I lugged my luggage up the stairs, struggled to open the door and prop it open as I moved my... More

I stayed for 3 nights at Rydges Hotel - I wasn't disappointed nor very impressed. The location is fantastic as you are steps away from Gloucester Road, which connects you well with the rest of the city (Piccadilly, Circle and District Line). There is a bus stop right in front of the hotel, but you are walking distance to the... More

The hotel can be considered a decent accommodation but has no service component to it, washrooms are very small. The staff is not very interested to help. They have housekeeping services for half day only. Next time will stay in different hotels in the same area.

There isn't a single thing I could fault about my stay here. Customer service from the front desk staff was amazing. My room was nice, clean, the bed was super comfortable. Very close to Gloucester Rd tube station which makes it very convenient to get to Heathrow. Close to Natural History Museum, Science Museum and Victoria and Albert Museum.

Well I've always heard good things about the Rydges but when we got to London I was disappointed. I know they say you get what you paid for but you expect better things for your hard earned money. We booked off the net (I think) for the accommodation and when we got there we found we were in the basement... More

Staying in South Kensington

Neighborhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
