This hotel just gets it right. It's minutes from Gloucester Road Tube station in the heart of Kensington, has beautiful spacious rooms, very pleasant and attentive staff and fabulous food. Having stayed in many hotels across London, this one is by far the best location and best value. Will definitely be returning

We stayed here this past weekend. The room was a great price and was very nice. We found that the staff that checked us is was great and more than helpful in booking a tour for us and getting information about things we wanted to do. The room was very nice and clean and had a huge bathroom. The shower... More

This is a good hotel - ideally located for The Royal Albert Hall, The Natural History Museum, The V&A Museum, Kensington High Street and Knightsbridge too - all within walking distance or via the Tube. The room was comfortable, albeit relatively small, which is fine for one night. The rest of the hotel was well appointed. The first criticism is... More

Lovely hotel, friendly staff. Clean and tidy, rooms were nicely stocked with plenty of towels and bathroom accessories. The only negative was the breakfast. Very slow service, although staff were apologetic. Waited approx 40 mins for full English cooked breakfast which was overcooked. I'd have continental next time as that was a lovely varied spread of cereals, yoghurts, pastries and... More

We had such an enjoyable 8 day stay at Rydges Kensinton. The location was perfect...just steps from the Gloucester tube station so it was always very quick and convenient for us to get anywhere in the city. The staff was super friendly and accommodating...the hotel is updated and very nice looking. Our room was very clean. My only complaint is... More

This is my first time in London, so I cannot compare this hotel to others in London. However, the location is a block from the Gloucester Road Tube stop which is quick to get to all of the tourist spots in London on the Picadilly, District, and Circle Lines. It is also a couple blocks from the amazing Natural History... More

We stayed at the hotel for a weekend in January and experienced the hotel as quite recently refurbished with a "clean feel". I was there with my wife and two-year old daughter, for whom a baby crib was brought into the room at no extra charge. The executive king room was ok sized and with a good standard but the... More

Was only there for 2 nights but was a very comfortable stay especially when travelling all over Europe. The location is great right next to tube which was handy. Its a bike ride or walking distance to other areas. We got a free upgrade to an executive suite which was lovely had a lot of room to move around. The... More

Very good location : 10 minutes walk to the Natural History Museum and Victoria & Albert museum. Another 10 minutes for Harrods and another 20 minutes to reach Buckingham Palace and Big Ben.. Staff are very helpful and professional. They were a bit confused about restaurants opening hours during Christmas and Boxing days but that's normal. We had lunch in... More

Staying in South Kensington

Neighborhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
