I liked the location (10 min, walk to Natural History Museum, Science Musem and Victoria & Albert Museum, 5 min to Royal Albert Hall & Hyde Park & Kensington). To reach Westminster, Tower of London etc 15 min with the Tube. Picadilly Line takes you directly from Heathrow to Gloucester Road Station (3 min walk to the hotel). next to... More

I love this hotel. I stay here every time I am in London. It is perfect for a business trip or a couples weekend. An easy train from Heathrow, this hotel is ideal after a long flight from the US. Everything works. They always have my reservation. My room is always ready whatever time I arrive. The restaurant is always... More

I stayed at the Rydges and after encountering a few bumps in our first room (no air conditioning, electricity, mold) we were promptly moved into another room. The new room was wider and included a window. The staff were accommodating and really did show that they cared after being properly informed of the condition of our room. The location is... More

I stayed here for a week on my own. The Executive King room was a good size and the nicest room I have stayed at with Rydges. Staff were pleasant and the hotel is extremely convenient to Gloucester Rd tube. Room was good value by London standards and plus I am a Priority Guest member which got another 10% off.... More

Stayed in a superior double for Mother's Day, was a beautiful stylish room perfect for a special occasion. Kept very clean and tidy. Only issue is that there is no mention when booking of them holding another £50 on your card in case of mini bar usage which they state they will refund after you stay if you don't use... More

I emailed the concierge desk during my trip planning and received a prompt and helpful response from Janel and Laura. When we arrived, we were disappointed with our room's view but were graciously moved to a higher front room with a much better view of the street. The bathrooms are very small with limited shelf space, but both the bathroom... More

This hotel was really lovely. So clean and beautifully decorated. The staff were friendly and helpful and we would stay there again. Felt the breakfast was quite expensive, especially as you are so near to so many more reasonably priced places to eat. Also hundred pound entered on your card incase you spend at the hotel.

I have stayed twice recently in Rydges and had two very different rooms. Both booked as singles, the first was tiny, barely enough room to get in, yet still had every facility; minibar etc. The second time I got a larger 'executive' room with double bed and far more comfort. I will say the hotel itself is small but very... More

1: Describe the service you experienced. The check was a bit odd as we flew into Heathrow on an early flight from Munich so the rooms were not ready, not unexpected but they seemed a little surprised we were there early, we left our bags and went for a walk round Kensington and upon out return had to lug our... Staying in South Kensington

Neighborhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
