For a couple traveling together we chose the Standard King and it was perfect. I'd say it is somewhat bigger than your average European hotel room. We enjoyed the modern styling, especially in the bath. We also enjoyed the very comfortable beds, great water pressure, and decent sound isolation. We were in a back room on the second floor. The... Located near Gloucester Road tube station, Rydges is easy to get to and from Heathrow (Piccadilly line) and Gatwick ( Circle line to Victirua, then take the Gatwick Express). Rooms are European (small) and in London (expensive), so understand the market and you won't be surprised. Rooms are well appointed, staff was courteous and efficient. Lots of shopping nearby. Harrods... More

We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel. It was quiet and clean. The staff was very attentive and knowledgeable. I travelled with my two sons (ages 8 and 10) and the staff upgraded us to a larger suite to accomodate us, free of charge! We had lots of room to unwind after a full day of sight-seeing. The beds... Had a lovely stay here. Bed was extremely comfortable, all amenities I'd expect were present. Receptions taff were friendly and helpful without being pushy. The location of this hotel is fantastic. Tube station is only across the street and has 3 main tube lines that can get you practically anywhere in London without having to change trains. Perfect for exploring!... More

We recently stayed at the Rydges Hotel which is a clean lovely hotel ,we wanted a hotel within easy walking distance to the royal Albert hall as we were attending a concert there . We arrived a little early for check in but that was not a problem as were able to leave our luggage in a secure room while... More

We were immediately concerned when the route to the room was through a narrow corridor signed ‘toilets’! Initially we thought it was a mistake. But no, the route to the room was past the foyer toilets, with some interesting smells in the corridor! The bedroom felt like it was the dud of the hotel – it was on the ground... More

This place was great. Staff was very friendly. The Polo bar was serviced by such wonderful and helpful staff. Even the front desk staff helped me plan my day out in London. Steps form the Tube, and a bus stop in front. Perfect. The room was Tiny- but that is normal in London. The mini bar was very reasonably priced.... More

I stayed in this hotel for a 2 night business trip, I had not stayed here since the name change. The overall feel of the Hotel is fresh, current and bright. The service at the front desk was very speedy and efficient and indeed all the staff were very helpful, (not always the case in London hotels!) I had a... More

I frequently stay at this hotel when Im in London for work and cant fault it. The rooms as clean and nicely decorated, and the wifi is fast. The location is great, its easy to find parking on the surrounding roads and the staff are fantastic. Great value for money.

Staying in South Kensington

Neighborhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
