First of all, I booked a Classic Single Room in December 2014. It advertised a whole host of room amenities, and was quite a reasonable price for such a central hotel. Arriving at the property I found it is just 2 minutes walk from either Bayswater or Queensway underground stations (which, conveniently are on two different lines). It's also a... More

This hotel is now my London base, I am in London 1-2 times a year. I have stayed here some 5 times now, and I am satisfied. As London hotels goes in the cheap to medium price bracket the rooms are small, and the hotel as such is neither modern nor high class. But the staff - including maid -... More

Booked a twin room for one night, when we arrived it was a very warm welcome from the staff who were extremely helpful. The room had one double and one single bed which were comfortable and the room was very warm which was great for mid December! The shower was a bit cold but other than that everything worked perfectly.... More

I stayed for 3 night in a rather small room...as I opted for the cheapest (anyway)! In overall, being a single traveler and spending most of my time outside, it was quite OK. However, some repairs is needed as the side table has disconnected from the wall. The staffs are friendly and helpful. If I am going on a tight-budget-trip... More

Room very small Very cold breeze coming through closed window Mattress was terrible. Old and lumpy, had to ask for extra duvet just to lie on top of it. No iron Poor hairdryer Paper thin walls, could hear conversation from next room! Major makeover needed, bathroom ceiling needed paint Drinks in the bar was poor, overpriced and clearly not knowing how to make cocktails.... More

I was staying close by and walking past this restaurant it looked ok. I ordered the meat satay as a starter - source was nice, but the meat quality was tough and chewy. I choice to not complain. For a main course I ordered the chefs recommended spicy chicken (chicken being a safer option usually to not be tough). Surprisingly... More

Eden Park might seem a rather highfalutin name for the Bayswater Berjaya, but it is an interesting establishment, with multi-ethnic staff and quirky inter-floor travel: ten stairs up then three down to reach a tweeny lift that travels from the first to the second. The cornucopial buffet breakfast alone makes the stay worth while: juices, fresh fruit, yoghourt, fromage frais... More

Stayed at this hotel for 5 days. The room was a bit worn and had seen better days. There was almost no hot water in the bathroom and the cleaning was not satisfactory. We found dirt on the nightstands every day. The positive about this hotel was that the staff was very friendly and the food in the restaurant was... More

Was initially worried by all the bad reviews, seems like it a 'hit or a miss' with some of the rooms. Had 7 night stay at the hotel in the classic double room. Room was tiny especially the restroom, but I guess this is because it is in an old building. I had a large luggage (28") it was quite... More

If something looks too good to be true then it usually is but very few of us find a bargain hard to resist and so with a couple of clicks I booked a classic twin room in central(ish) London advertised for £291 reduced to £90. On arrival we walked through a pleasing restaurant and light and airy lounge to the... More

Staying in Notting Hill

Neighborhood Profile
Notting Hill
As West London's friskiest corner, Notting Hill more than manages to retain plenty of the same appeal that's brought the affluent area so much worldwide attention. In this attractive cobblestoned neighborhood, a delectable variety of eateries, independent shops, galleries and street vendors offer a delightful window into how to live the good life in London, with each presenting visitors with an experience that's a little more idiosyncratic and endearing than the last. Travelers looking to forage for antiques should be sure to visit the Portobello Road Market on Saturdays, the largest antiques market in the United Kingdom.
