The best thing about this hotel is the location, it's with 100m of two tube stations and right next to the high street with access to all local amenities. We stayed in room 129, a twin room on the first floor at the back of the hotel. The plus point it was next to a rarely used stairwell so apart... More

To start with a positive, the reception staff were very polite if sometimes a little too chatty amongst themselves, but generally helpful and lovely. I booked this through Agoda, and requested a twin room. The room I had was so small, you could barely get past the beds. The bathroom was even worse actually having an extra small sink as... More

Booked a classic twin room but with no air con and the windows difficult to open on a 25c day the room was hot and stuffy Threadbare curtains hardly kept light out No wifi -even in the lobby and little action from manager to assist Nice lounge but it smelt like stale curry Struggled to get the idle concierge to... This is a very nice Hotel in best location. The underground stations Queensway und Bayswater can be reached in about 5 minutes. Nearby is a nice street with many restaurants and supermarkets like sainsbury, spar. The only unimportant thing which is a little bit funny is the very very small elevator! Also the hallway in the first floor isn't very... More

I stayed there for a week in at the end of June/early July. The hotel is beautiful on the outside. The lobby is well maintained and inviting. Our check in process was seamless (they do make a photocopy of your passport which is customary). The elevator is very small (max 2 people at a time). I stayed on the 5th... More

We stayed here because we needed somewhere central and couldn't have asked for better. Was only 20min walk from Kensington Palace and 10min from the tube station. Easy takeout in the next street but very little noise. Room was comfortable and cosy, good for short or long stay. Staff was helpful and housekeeping was lovely.

Visited for the weekend, it was very hot, the hotel staff were very polite, and The location of the hotel was great. However the hotel itself is run down, very basic twin room, bathroom was the smallest I had ever seen, and very outdated. The whole place appears run down, needs a good lick of paint. It's was like going back... More

The building is old and our room was very very tired. Dirty walls, carpet, floors and corners, a tiny worn out bathroom, and the room next door was being renovated and apparently used as a gathering place for the construction workers and others with their music and TV blaring, loud partying voices, while they supposedly worked on the unit. We... More

I was visiting London on a solo trip. I expected a small room, having traveled through Europe a number of times previously. but this room (216) was little more than a closet. The front desk staff were helpful but begrudgingly so. No a/c . A small section of the window opened for some fresh air. No safe for valuables. The... More

Staying in Notting Hill

Neighborhood Profile
Notting Hill
As West London's friskiest corner, Notting Hill more than manages to retain plenty of the same appeal that's brought the affluent area so much worldwide attention. In this attractive cobblestoned neighborhood, a delectable variety of eateries, independent shops, galleries and street vendors offer a delightful window into how to live the good life in London, with each presenting visitors with an experience that's a little more idiosyncratic and endearing than the last. Travelers looking to forage for antiques should be sure to visit the Portobello Road Market on Saturdays, the largest antiques market in the United Kingdom.
