The Cumberland boasts a prime position at the end of Oxford Street, perfect for Christmas shopping or a theatre-break. Since I last stayed here - a worryingly long time ago! - some of the lighting etc in the lobby has been toned down slightly, which makes it feel more like a modern hotel & less like an art installation which... My wife and I booked a standard double at The Cumberland for our three night stay in London. The room that we were allocated was small considering the tariff paid. (It was not particularly cheap when measured against other comparable hotels that we have used in Central London) To make matters worse the small double bed was situated against a... More

We stayed this weekend at the Cumberland and although the room was small it was clean and comfortable. The hotel was perfectly positioned for the tube, shops and Hyde Park. The reception staff were very helpful and so very patient and pleasant. Hossam Hegazy was great, so kind with a really good sense of humour, which was very much appreciated,... More

The location is very good. We were not satisfied with the room we got the first night. The noise was more than we are used too, couldnt sleep. The next Day we spoke to someone in the reception and as soon as we mentioned the problem and the room number she knew what we were talking about and gave us... More

The stay as a whole was good, room was adequate. Breakfast the first morning very good, second a disaster. Staff wondering around not a clue what they are doing while a queue of people waited to be seated. Staff hit and miss, some lovely others not so much, staff needs training. Overall a good hotel but probably wouldn't return.

Stayed here for my partners 21st. They couldn't do enough for us. They upgraded our room, organised a bottle of Cava and gave us access to the "lounge" where we could help ourselves to food and drink as we pleased. Breakfast was good and the beds were super comfy. Hotel location is literally opposite marble arch.

Have stayed here on a few occasions and will always return if in London. As always the staff were so helpful & of course courteous at all times. Our room was so well prepared for our stay. Thank you so much. will be returning in due course. Of course another bonus is that the Tube is just around the corner.

The hotel is ok but so impersonally. For 5 years ago the breakfast was super but in this days everage, not bad at all but they saving money because the rate for a breakfast is more expensive now but at lowerquality. The staff is super, best ever!

We had to change our room. It was very small with an addition of a bed for our child. There was no place to move with your luggages. There was a small space for the clothes. This is the first hotel that I have to leave my clothes in my luggage. We all have carry-on luggage. Breakfast was good. But,... More

Staying in Marylebone

Neighborhood Profile
Marylebone
Marylebone offers what so many London neighborhoods cannot: a village feel coupled with urban convenience. Much of its success rests in its location. Wedged between the northeastern corner of Hyde Park and the southern end of Regent's Park and with a number of Tube stations within easy reach, Marylebone is as pedestrian friendly as Central London gets. The bustling shopping mecca of Oxford Street separates it from Soho and Mayfair, exclusive Regent Street marks its border with Fitzrovia, and cosmopolitan Edgware Road serves as its western edge. Within this enviably situated quarter are an array of outstanding restaurants (from Michelin darlings to down and dirty cheeseburgers), an impressive assortment of independently owned shops, and some of the city's quietest and most pleasant nooks, crannies and cobbled lanes.
