This hotel is very nice and positioned perfectly close to transport as well as many of the sights in London. The rooms are immaculate and the staff were very helpful as I'd dropped my mobile in a black taxi i'd taken from Heathrow and didn't realize it until the cab was home in east london, but a few quick phone... Great staff. Lovely, welcoming and roomy reception. Comfortable and clean room. Amazing concierge service. Good selection for breakfast. Good central location, right next to tube and other attractions if you are visiting London for the sights/Oxford shopping. A little of the pricey side however. I suppose you do get what you pay for!

Having had an upgraded room with my friend for some retail therapy, I was disappointed to see how the standard had fallen. The first room heating was broken so having to go back to reception to change rooms, some 40 minutes later only to find the alternative room in places was dirty. What a shame when this hotel used to... More

Thoroughly enjoyed my first stay at The Cumberland. I have previously stayed in the sister hotel The Tower on business trips but this one was for pleasure. Ideally located at Marble Arch. Great transport links on the doorstep. Room was comfortable and clean. Staff were very attentive. Breakfast was great ample choice. Had Sunday lunch in the Carvery it too... More

The good: Location. Relatively cheap. The bad: Everything else. Noisy hotel attracting particular customer profile. Very busy, lifts packed and slow (no stairs to use). Poor food, rooms need refreshing. Tends to get very loud at nights. Staff inconsistent - from super friendly to mega rude. No parking (there are some third party ones within walking distance, but beware as... More

This enormous hotel is seconds away from the Marble Arch Tube Stop on Oxford Street. The room was very small but pretty clean (we both woke up in the morning stuffy so the carpet, drapes or something must be dusty) and the staff was helpful although the front desk didn't put in for our requested wake up call. We had... More

The location of the hotel is great with quiet rooms despite being on Oxford Street. One word of warning is the size of the executive rooms once you take the upgrade package - ours was tiny and having stayed there for 6 days, it felt claustrophobic for two people. I complained at checkout and was advised that the room that... More

Not impressed in the slightest : 1)There's no access to stairs , after waiting 20minutes you still can't get onto an elevator 2) you pre book your room 4 months in advance and you still do not get what you asked for 3) the general demeanour of staff is shocking . Young modern girls get frowned upon and have their... More

Staying in Marylebone

Neighborhood Profile
Marylebone
Marylebone offers what so many London neighborhoods cannot: a village feel coupled with urban convenience. Much of its success rests in its location. Wedged between the northeastern corner of Hyde Park and the southern end of Regent's Park and with a number of Tube stations within easy reach, Marylebone is as pedestrian friendly as Central London gets. The bustling shopping mecca of Oxford Street separates it from Soho and Mayfair, exclusive Regent Street marks its border with Fitzrovia, and cosmopolitan Edgware Road serves as its western edge. Within this enviably situated quarter are an array of outstanding restaurants (from Michelin darlings to down and dirty cheeseburgers), an impressive assortment of independently owned shops, and some of the city's quietest and most pleasant nooks, crannies and cobbled lanes.
