I stayed here for several nights while on business in London. I had previously stayed at the Citadines Holborn and found it fine, but this Citadines has seen better days - at least concerning the room I stayed in. The room was worn and had seen much better days. The bathroom was 'clean' but with mold on the joints etc.... More

Good for a little weekend stay, however the rooms were far too warm, even with both the windows open pinned back all day and night (which is not exactly convenient) woke up in a pool of sweat everyday, yuck. Air con would have been a huge plus (yes we made sure the radiators were off). luckily got a room facing... More

From the outside not an impressive place. My friend likened it to the Crossroads Motel! On investigation it became apparent that it is actually quite European with an over reliance on light coloured MDF. The room was on the small side (but it is in central London) and the location was a little down at heel (the sign on the... More

I moved to Citadines Barbican after spending 2 nights at the magnificent South Place Hotel. I spent 3 nights in total at Citadines Barbican and upon arrival I felt an urge to leave the place and book another hotel. I had previously stayed in other Citadines/Somerset/Ascott properties and had somehow higher expectations of the place. London is an expensive city... More

stayed Mon - Fri last week, I prefer booking apartments when I'm staying in London, because there's more room than a hotel and you can cook for yourself. These apartments were barely bigger than a small hotel room, with a kind of alcove kitchen with a 2 ring burner, sink, kettle and fridge. The bedroom was cramped with barely enough... More

Excellent hotel offering Studio and Apartment accommodation, Located in the Barbican and literally two minutes walk to the barbican Tube station and there is a bus stop adjacent to the hotel, catch the number 4, it goes everywhere... The staff at the hotel were also very pleasant and made time for each person, very impressive. The Breakfast in the hotel... More

We stayed for 2 nights there and although it was not cheap, it was well worth it. The room was very confortable, quiet and perfect for staying a few days. It is very centrally located, just a couple of minutes from the Barbican tube station and within walking distance to Liverpool Street Station. The Museum of London and St Paul's... More

The place is very comfortable for a family since it has a well-equipped kitchen and is very near to the Barbican underground station. Breakfast is ok, the staff friendly and always smiling. The water taps are "continental", with mixed water, hot and cold. Beds are huge and comfy. The only downside is the permanent slamming of the heavy fire-proof doors... More

I stayed here for 2 nights to do some sightseeing in London. This hotel is located very close (2 blocks) to the Barbican Underground station. It's also about a 10 min walk to the St Paul's Underground station and others. Total transit time of about 30 min to Westminster Abbey and about 30 min to the British Museum. Breakfast was... More

We ended up here not by choice - we'd booked the nearby Citadines St. Marks and were transferred here due to technical issues. Barbican is a good location - the apartments across the road are a bit grotty and give the area a bit of a run down feel, but it is safe. As a base for a long weekend,... More

Staying in Clerkenwell

Neighborhood Profile
Clerkenwell
Owing to its proximity to Smithfield Market – the site of an ancient meat market which remains in operation today – Clerkenwell boasts a plethora of globally renowned restaurants, fabulous local eateries, and some of London's favorite pubs. This isn't merely a focal point for all things foodie though. Spend enough time wondering through the area's maze of streets and you might become accustomed to the litany of slinky models passing between Clerkenwell's handful of fashion houses. Far outnumbering the models are craftspeople and designers, many of them are more than happy to welcome visitors into their studios and showrooms.
