Excellent facilities and good value for money. The hotel is 2 tube stops from Kings Cross and less than a 5 minute walk from Barbican tube station. It is scrupulously clean with excellent security (you can't access the lifts without a key card) and offers free in-room wifi. It was brilliantly equipped with dishwasher, microwave, 2 ring hob, toaster, fridge,... More

Conveniently located by the Barbican - the room I had was a decent size with comfortable double bed, some cooking facilities, reasonable sized bathroom so overall had everything I needed for a one night stay. Staff could be a little more friendly on the front desk but overall no complaints at all - I didn't try breakfast here but if... More

The hotel is well located near to the Barbican station. Rooms are well insonorised even if they are a little bit small. The kitchenette is very practical for breakfast and when you are tired to eat in restaurants. The supermarket nearest the hotel (Tesco) is practical but they are not very friendly and it is quite expensive.

We were here as part of a group of 13 family members, to celebrate my husbands 50th birthday. We stayed in 704, a fabulous apartment, with everything you could need. It was absolutely spotless, and as a hotelier myself, I expect no less. The staff were courteous, friendly and very helpful. Reception was lovely, free coffee and tea 24/7 which... More

Absolutely great place to stay when you're in London for a weekend and just need somewhere to sleep and relax between exploring. 5 mins from the tube station so very easy to get around London. A ten minute tube journey will get you to more central places. Barbican itself is a quieter area with a few small restaurants and shops.... More

A lovely hotel in a great location, just 5 min walk to Barbican Underground Station. Tesco express is just a couple of meters away. Rooms are very clean and comfortable. The kitchenette has all what is required such as dishwasher, a stove, a sink, a microwave, toaster, kettle, utensils & fridge with a freezer. I will surely revisit when going... More

The Citadines Barbican Apart Hotel was a good place to stay for a few nights. I found it to be a good location with nice and helpful staff. The room was a bit tight as soon as the bed was unfolded. Yes, it needs to unfold :) but being there by myself I did not miss the space and I... More

I've been staying at Citadines Barbican for 5 years. It's one of my favorite hotels. First and most important: it's got a nice kitchnette in each room. I like to have coffee, breakfast, and read before I start my day. That's totally doable. There's a Tesco Express a block away, so after I check in, I do a quick grocery... More

I had a long stay here (>8 weeks). And it was very comfortable stay. Let me start with the cons. The rooms are small. But what do you expect right in the heart of central London! If you are staying in the Studio with fixed bed, you don't have much space to move about near the work table and the... More

Staying in Clerkenwell

Neighborhood Profile
Clerkenwell
Owing to its proximity to Smithfield Market – the site of an ancient meat market which remains in operation today – Clerkenwell boasts a plethora of globally renowned restaurants, fabulous local eateries, and some of London's favorite pubs. This isn't merely a focal point for all things foodie though. Spend enough time wondering through the area's maze of streets and you might become accustomed to the litany of slinky models passing between Clerkenwell's handful of fashion houses. Far outnumbering the models are craftspeople and designers, many of them are more than happy to welcome visitors into their studios and showrooms.
