We were here as part of a group of 13 family members, to celebrate my husbands 50th birthday. We stayed in 704, a fabulous apartment, with everything you could need. It was absolutely spotless, and as a hotelier myself, I expect no less. The staff were courteous, friendly and very helpful. Reception was lovely, free coffee and tea 24/7 which... More

Absolutely great place to stay when you're in London for a weekend and just need somewhere to sleep and relax between exploring. 5 mins from the tube station so very easy to get around London. A ten minute tube journey will get you to more central places. Barbican itself is a quieter area with a few small restaurants and shops.... More

A lovely hotel in a great location, just 5 min walk to Barbican Underground Station. Tesco express is just a couple of meters away. Rooms are very clean and comfortable. The kitchenette has all what is required such as dishwasher, a stove, a sink, a microwave, toaster, kettle, utensils & fridge with a freezer. I will surely revisit when going... More

The Citadines Barbican Apart Hotel was a good place to stay for a few nights. I found it to be a good location with nice and helpful staff. The room was a bit tight as soon as the bed was unfolded. Yes, it needs to unfold :) but being there by myself I did not miss the space and I... More

I've been staying at Citadines Barbican for 5 years. It's one of my favorite hotels. First and most important: it's got a nice kitchnette in each room. I like to have coffee, breakfast, and read before I start my day. That's totally doable. There's a Tesco Express a block away, so after I check in, I do a quick grocery... More

I had a long stay here (>8 weeks). And it was very comfortable stay. Let me start with the cons. The rooms are small. But what do you expect right in the heart of central London! If you are staying in the Studio with fixed bed, you don't have much space to move about near the work table and the... More

Stayed a few times here for business, never more than one night. Rooms are relatively basic, but do the job nicely. The beds are huge and comfortable. Some rooms face onto the road, which was a noise concern, but I was never disturbed by any noise. On a recent stay I was given an entire apartment suite, well-appointed kitchen, living... More

Stayed 2 nights at the Barbican Citadines. Overall enjoyed the stay and liked the hotel. Good points: -Clean -Convenient position for tube; -Safe and secure (key needed 3 times to use lift and access room); -Good room facilities-kitchen includes: fridge, microwave, sink, dishwasher, kettle, enough utensils, small hob. Room also has an iron and ironing board; -Plenty of storage; -Comfortable... More

This hotel is a good choice for travellers that don't want to eat outside. The kitchen is simple but sufficient, staff is helpful and overall impression is good. It is possible to have breakfast there but it is "nearby Tesco made" so not the right choice.

Staying in Clerkenwell

Neighborhood Profile
Clerkenwell
Owing to its proximity to Smithfield Market – the site of an ancient meat market which remains in operation today – Clerkenwell boasts a plethora of globally renowned restaurants, fabulous local eateries, and some of London's favorite pubs. This isn't merely a focal point for all things foodie though. Spend enough time wondering through the area's maze of streets and you might become accustomed to the litany of slinky models passing between Clerkenwell's handful of fashion houses. Far outnumbering the models are craftspeople and designers, many of them are more than happy to welcome visitors into their studios and showrooms.
