This is a cheap hotel and the room I had showed that fact. It was small - so much so that there was no bedside table - something I think of as a necessity. The bed was clean and comfortable, and the tiny shower cubicle was adequate. Breakfast was served at the nearby hotel - which could be a nuisance... More

The rooms are the size of a postage stamp. One small closet a bed and bathroom. That's it! No chair, no clothes cabinet. But, clean and comfortable. Wonderful location, walking distance to best parts of London. Two nearby tube stations. Many good restaurants in the area at reasonable prices. If it is just a place to sleep while you are... More

This hotel has no elevator! Be ready for lots of stairs especially if your room is on the 4th floor. Our room was small but had everything we needed, clean. The bathroom had recently been remodeled, shower pressure was good and plenty of hot water. Very little counter space in bathroom. Wifi worked well most of the time. Room was quiet.... More

Recently refurbished so room was lovely. Unwelcoming to be signposted to the posh hotel next door after 5pm to get in and again for breakfast. 4 floors & no lift. BUT for london room once you recover from these irritations the room is v v pleasant & they are all being refurbished - top floor was first. Thoughtful to provide... More

We stayed in London for 10 days and this little hotel was an excellent choice for us. The room was very comfortable (triple room) and very private. My wife and I felt we had a 4 star visit at this quaint and simple 2 star hotel. The location is great and only 3 minutes to Bayswater or Queensway underground and... More

This hotel advertises thatit has wireless. It does NOT have dependable wireless. I needed to do work in my room in the evenings but there was never any wireless connection. I could get no one to help me. This hotel is owned by the Phoenix Hotel next door to it. I was told to go there for help. The woman... More

I stayed for three nights in early May. The hotel is a bit "tired" (scruffy), but clean and so well located. The neighborhood is excellent - a couple minutes' walk to Bayswater Tube, a couple minutes more to Queensway; if you walk north and then along Westbourne Grove, you'll find yourself on your way to Notting Hill, and to the... We were very happy with the accomodations, including the continental breakfast at the hotel. The service was exceptional, especially the people at the desk. I want to specifially thank Kornela who went out of her way to help us, including straitening out a situation when two taxi's both arrived for our aiport trip. She cam out and talked to the... More

The smallest room I have ever been in an hotel (and I have spent thousands of nights abroad in hotels!); no room to move around - ridiculous space between the bed and room walls or furniture; unclean floor carpet; untidy bathroom/shower;no service provided after 5 pm - we have to go to the Phoenix hotel, next door, which means leaving... Lovely family hotel attended by very kind staff. Room was small but warm and confortable. Location is excelent. Hotel is at a quiet square, but near to tube stations, restaurants and shops. Breakfast, served at next door Hotel Phoenix, is very good too.

Staying in Notting Hill

Neighborhood Profile
Notting Hill
As West London's friskiest corner, Notting Hill more than manages to retain plenty of the same appeal that's brought the affluent area so much worldwide attention. In this attractive cobblestoned neighborhood, a delectable variety of eateries, independent shops, galleries and street vendors offer a delightful window into how to live the good life in London, with each presenting visitors with an experience that's a little more idiosyncratic and endearing than the last. Travelers looking to forage for antiques should be sure to visit the Portobello Road Market on Saturdays, the largest antiques market in the United Kingdom.
