We could not have asked for a better price on the room considering the hotel's fantastically central location just off Kensington High St (less than £100 per night!). The communal areas and bar are well decorated. The rooms were small and plain but perfectly fine. However, the heating in the room was not working all weekend and we felt cold... More

The location of this hotel is great. A short walk to High St Kensington. The tube is very close as well. What let's this hotel down is mainly lack of space. The bed takes up all the room there is no space to walk around. I had to lay my suitcase down at the edge of the built in table... More

I stayed here with my daughter. The communal areas are nicely decorated and staff attentive. We booked the hotel as part of a theatre package and with this in mind it was great value for money. If I had paid the full hotel price, this review would read differently. When we arrived the lock on our room was broken, after... More

Stayed for two nights in January. The foyer on arrival, and at all times actually, was very busy, which led to a bit of a queue for the lifts, but check in was satisfactory. My room was a double, but not a lot of room for much else. My bathroom looked to have been recently renovated, with smart white and... More

The Kensington close hotel was recommended to me as location is brilliant if you are doing all the tourist things in London and SHOPPING!! Wasn't disappointed at all, location spot on, hotel perfect in our eyes for what we wanted. Our room was spotless , & the bed was very comfortable my husband loved it.. I can't comment on food... Hotel was beautiful, great location and the staff were great. Aer Lingus lost one of our suitcases and the front desk was very helpful with updates. Rooms were modern, sleek, extremely clean, just a little tight. However, I heard that's common in London. Breakfast was awesome! We had a party of six and everyone found something to eat. Big selection... More

We were booked for 1 night via my company for a conference and we decided to stay on for an additional 2 nights to do some sightseeing and see a show. The room was supposed to be a suite but turned out to be an average small hotel room though it was well appointed with TV, coffee making facilities, a... More

Walking into the hotel was pretty impressive, the lobby and restaurant look amazing and the staff were very friendly and helpful - concierge, saved bags on check out day for several hours for free. 1 minute walk to the underground. Not much pubs etc around for a drink so had to travel, but it's a nice area. The room was... More

We stayed 1 night on our transfers out of London. Most staff were nice however we encountered a stuck up b**** at reception on our arrival who was on border of rude to us. My friend had paid upfront for the room in Australia however there was a mixup with our booking. We were told you must pay extra $... More

Yes the rooms are small but you are welcomed warmly to the hotel Good to be on this location in small nice and clean room. Even the bathroom is in a small narrow passage kind of thing. We were offered free wifi when asked. Tea and coffee available in room. The rooms were too warm and the aircon would not... More

Staying in South Kensington

Neighborhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
