We spent 3 nights here in June, 2011 with our two teenage children and we loved the location! Right on the Thames at the Eye, walking distance to the Westminster Tube and Westminster Abbey, Parliament, and a short walk to Buckingham Palace. Our room was spacious and included a sofa bed and chairs in addition to the two queens. We... More

We stayed at this Marriott using points so it's hard to judge value. The location is wonderful, less than 5 minute walk to Westminster tube station, directly next to London Eye, at a stop for the tour buses. The room was large and very nice. We faced out the side of the building, not facing the London Eye. Our windows... More

This review relates to spa, not hotel. I called to book a massage and was told it would cost 50pounds for a 30 minute massage (there are no prices on website). Arrived 5 mins before 2pm appointment and was given form to fill in. Then was told to wait for therapist. By time she'd appeared and I been taken to... More

Overall we had a very nice time at this hotel, the staff was extremely friendly and helpful and the location could not be beat. We upgraded to a large room with a view of Big Ben and a little closer to the elevators. We had two double beds and a rollaway for our 18yr old daughter that was very comfortable.... More

On a recent business trip the Marriot was ideally placed for my interaction with government and other contacts . Fab hotel , lovely helpful staff , food just OK , and superb views of quintessential heart of London BUT over zealous gymn manager quoted UK Health and Safety when she threw me out of the EMPTY state of the art... This was my second trip to London, and my first stay at this hotel. I normally spend 70% of my time on the road within the US mostly, and have stayed in almost every hotel available. Based upon my travel experience, I’d have to say this is one of the best hotel’s I’ve ever visited for the following three reasons.... More

Luxury on the river. My family and I loved this hotel. It was a prime location with an even better view. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The beds were so comfortable. The rooms were spacious enough to fit a rollaway bed. Although the building is old, the rooms are not, with modern amenities and furnishings - even a... More

I stayed here for a night. I loved the location but it's not a place for kids. It's geared towards the upper class and businessmen. In other words not cheap. Staff was great and very accommodating. The view from my room was disappointing, as it looked into a service courtyard. But the room was excellent.

I stayed at the Marriott County Hall for approximately two weeks while in London on business. First, the property is expansive. There is a single bank of three elevators that services the rooms, and if you get a room not close to them, it can be quite a long walk getting from one to another. The only other "knocks" I... I got a great rate on the website that included breakfast and executive lounge access. Our flight was late so we arrived at nearly midnight. The video of Big Ben striking midnight from our small deck was probably worth the cost of the room. Ridiculous tourist moment? You bet! All the staff we encountered during our brief stay (less than... More

Staying in Southbank

Neighborhood Profile
Southbank
Big time attractions such as the London Eye and a thriving theatre scene (compliments of the National Theatre and the Young Vic) are but a few of the reasons that Southbank is such a collectively cherished part of town. With plenty of family friendly activities and venues lined up along a pedestrianized river bank between Westminster Bridge and Waterloo Bridge, visitors can always expect a casual and festive atmosphere. On top of all the fun stuff to do at Southbank is the opportunity to simply sit back and admire photo-op views of iconic landmarks like Parliament and St Paul's Cathedral, just on across the Thames.
