Spent two nights here on business easy to find right next to Royal Mail Mount Pleasant. Good quick check in room usual standard but annoyingly I couldn't open the window the handle had been removed. Hotel had a pool which I didn't use but I believe they charge for the use of it. Parking limited. Breakfast very good and bar... More

No sleep, the fire alarm is sounding every 10 minutes and the staff do not know how to silence it. The hotel is full of people wandering about with no idea of what to do at almost 3 in the morning...every time I come here lately there seems to be some sort of drama. Don't book it.

Thank you for your review and for staying with us. I can confirm only that another guest discharged a Powder Fire Extinguisher in the hotel, which then set off multiple Fire Detectors at 2.27am. Rest assured that we take your personal safety very seriously and the individual was arrested. We appreciate this incident was very disruptive for everyone involved and... More

I have to be honest, I wasn't expecting much from a Holiday Inn (sorry, lovely Holiday Inn peoples). Especially near to Kings Cross. However! I was booked into the newly-refurbished seventh floor and it was lovely. Freshly-decorated room, complementary water and chocolate each day in the fridge. Two small complementary bottles of wine were brought up just after I arrived... More

Staff were very willing and helpful and check in for our group was quick and painless. Our room, on the second floor was minute, there being little space around the bed. There was little room to store clothes and this is why I say it is ideal for one night. The room I thought would have been suitable for a single traveller... Friendly reception. Free wifi. The hotel is not easy to get to if you don't drive/take a taxi as it is about 15 minutes' walk from either King's Cross or Farringdon underground station. The room stank of cigarettes despite having asked for non-smoking room. By London's standard, the room is also tiny and in dire need of refurbishment. But at... More

From the word go, the staff were friendly and inviting. They were helpful and did not mind when you asked for help. The rooms were clean and tidy. Each having a TV phone and enough wardrobe space. The bathroom was clean and tidy. The beds were comfortable and I slept fine both nights. A good review all round

Stayed here in one of the refurbished rooms on Floor 7. Aside from fridge door falling off, was absolutely fine. Enough space in room and bed comfy! A tip - a nice (and well priced) gastro pub across the road called Union Tavern was a great find for dinner.

As a Gold Elite member who uses IHG hotels all over the world and regularly Holiday Inn's in London - this is the worst. It is a good 15 minute walk from Russell Square Tube. The reception, bar area and dining room are all very faded and 1990s. Although I booked through IHG - there was no recognition of my... More

Stayed here for 1 night over the Bank Holiday, 2 adults & 2 children. Seen some of the reviews which haven't been that great! If you are looking for a clean room with a comfortable bed we had a family room which was big enough for the 4 of us. Bearing in mind this is just somewhere to sleep and... More

Staying in Clerkenwell

Neighborhood Profile
Clerkenwell
Owing to its proximity to Smithfield Market – the site of an ancient meat market which remains in operation today – Clerkenwell boasts a plethora of globally renowned restaurants, fabulous local eateries, and some of London's favorite pubs. This isn't merely a focal point for all things foodie though. Spend enough time wondering through the area's maze of streets and you might become accustomed to the litany of slinky models passing between Clerkenwell's handful of fashion houses. Far outnumbering the models are craftspeople and designers, many of them are more than happy to welcome visitors into their studios and showrooms.
