This is the second time me and my husband visited so we liked it enough to go back. Last time was a hot summer weekend this time was for my birthday in November. We went for a champagne weekend offer including breakfast and dinner. We got a free upgrade to a suite (which we had paid extra for last time... More

This hotel is not 4*. It's very poorly maintained with wallpaper peeling carpets coming up, light bulbs out, dents in walls and lifts. The worst part is the uncleanliness though. Room not hoovered, hairs in the bath, old coffee marks on the cups, tables at breakfast not even wiped down. Staff are friendly enough and try to help but there's... More

Just arrived back from a National Holiday stay of 4 days 3 nights. The room we had was very large and everything in it was lovely. Very nice chandelier and bedside lights. Good TV. No sign of threadbear carpets and the bathroom was very nicely appointed. Very good shower. The only thing that was not up to scratch was the... More

Great location at Canary wharf. Old property and rooms are old styled. Staff is very friendly. Wifi does not work most of the times. Stayed for 8days still no wifi service. Restaurants are good. Breakfast is same everyday and low on variety.

Have not been to this hotel for about 8 or 9 years. In that time it looks like that have done nothing to maintain or decorate the hotel. Furnishings are tatty - stair carpet from third floor down is thread bare, bath has chips in the enamel, bathroom tiles are chipped, half the tap covers are mussing from the taps,... More

A one night stay for a quick shopping trip to the capital, check in painless and pleasurable, young lad gave us a free room upgrade to a double with jacuzzi bath. The hotel has character! And yeh, could do with a bit of tarting up but at least it's not like the small can't swing a cat 'pods' at cheap... More

Paid in advance and when we checked in the staff had no room allocated to us. Had a lazy day and when we put the 'room to be serviced' sign outside room, this was not done. This was despite us saying to reception we wanted the room cleaned. When we complained we were told this was our fault for leaving... More

I stayed here because I was headed to a wedding and this was the hotel they chose that they wanted everyone to gather at. The decor is shabby, the hotel is a little old and you had to pay extra to use the gym. I didn't have any huge gripes, all I cared about was that the room and bathroom... More

Overall, this hotel is inspiring, with a "wow" factor. However, closer inspection reveals that is more than a little shabby. Signs of wear to the furnishings and carpets. Tired would be an appropriate adjective. Breakfast excellent, but seems to be "on the cheap". Buffet style, and quality and quantity of food is excellent. But "do it yourself" coffee ? Or... More
