Arrived to what a appeared to be a nice hotel after looking at the photos on the internet. How wrong could I be !! We were put in a room through a fire exit with a view of a brick wall with takeaway packets everywhere. The corridor stank of urine and foist ! Rooms were basic and carpet minging and... More

The hotel looks beautiful as you walk through the front door, lovely reception area clean and modern. You go up in the lift and when the lift opens its like something out of faulty towers. The decor is dated and dirty. And as for the room, cold damp and dirty. The two single beds were uncomfortable, the sheets have holes... More

Spent 2 nights in the hotel. Beautiful reception just had a revamp. Then we where shown the room very basic and in need of a make over. We requested extra pillows and where told they had run out also could only supply one blanket when there where 3 beds. Breakfast was ok not the best quality. Would not stay again

Our room was at one end of a long winding corridor which meant going through several fire doors but it was generally quiet. Some building work was in progress after 9 am which was very noisy. The nearest fire door was not available presumably as a result of the work. The room was very clean and spacious as it was... More

Good value for the money. Situation excellent. Hotel is old, kind of dirty, staff is quite slow, breakfast was poor and run out...but for the money, ok place! I needed a place just to sleep and this place did the trick. The bed was actually really good to sleep in! I would go again if I needed to stay in... More

After reading reviews I thought what on earth am I going to, got there yes reception is temporary but so what, room 411 was my room, refurbished, spotless, bed was comfortable. Breakfast everything you could expect, sausage, beans, mushroom, scrambled egg, toast, selection of jams, fresh fruit juices, milk, tea or coffee, I found this hotel fine

Quite frankly after reading the reviews I was not looking forward to spending the night here, I was not given much hope either after we dropped our bag off in the morning, I wanted to use the loo and was was given a key to room no 14 and honestly I was glad we were only staying the night, the... The smallest en suite single room I have ever stayed in, however, the room was clean, quiet with kettle, hairdryer & tv. A buffet style breakfast served in a multi purpose entrance/reception area was basic but good enough. An exellent location nr to Bayswater & Queensway tube station & a 10 min walk from Kensington Palace, good cloice of local... More

The website was misleading. The hotel was under major refurbishment, and the first room I was shown was so filthy and run down that I insisted on being shown a different room, which, if anything, was worse. Wifi would have cost ten pounds and was only available in the lobby which, again, was under refurbishment. The staff was uninterested in... More

When I booked this place I was swayed by the photos on the website, it looked beuatiful. When I got there I soon found that the photos had been taken elsewhere. This dump has NEVER looked like the photos, it is a former old people's home or penitentiary or dose house that is slowly being refurbished to hostel standard. The... More

Staying in Notting Hill

Neighborhood Profile
Notting Hill
As West London's friskiest corner, Notting Hill more than manages to retain plenty of the same appeal that's brought the affluent area so much worldwide attention. In this attractive cobblestoned neighborhood, a delectable variety of eateries, independent shops, galleries and street vendors offer a delightful window into how to live the good life in London, with each presenting visitors with an experience that's a little more idiosyncratic and endearing than the last. Travelers looking to forage for antiques should be sure to visit the Portobello Road Market on Saturdays, the largest antiques market in the United Kingdom.
