I stayed at this property for four nights recently and was pleased by the central location, quality service and overall cleanliness and ambiance of the hotel. It's a two minute walk from the Tower Hill tube station, from which you can access anywhere you'd want to go in London. The room (queen) was clean and quiet- no frills or art,... More

Stayed here two nights for my wife's birthday weekend. What a great location, could see the Gherkin from our room and the Tower of London was just around the corner! There's even a Wetherspoons pub for a cheap meal and good ale! Also right by Tower Hill underground so easy to access all of the city. Room was clean, modern... More

Stayed 1 night in November. We came down to London to see the Poppies at the Tower and this was convenient. Also as a Hilton Gold VIP I look at them first. The parking was full on arrival late on a Saturday night, cant reserve. That’s fine what wasn’t was the couldn’t care less attitude of the lady who told... More

Doubletree Hilton by the Tower of London is amazing. Beds so comfortable, everywhere is spotlessly clean, and the breakfast is fit for a king. The hotel is so near Thames for river cruise, or a visit to the Shard, or to the Tower of London...underground (metro) is closeby so links to the West End easypeasy. The staff are just lovely... Very comfortable stay. The room was clean, and quiet. The staff were very helpful, allowing us to keep our luggage there for later pick up. The room was of good size, and had all the amenities needed. Chocolate cookies at check in, still warm from the oven. Great location near Tower bridge area. Hop on Hop off bus located very... More

Check-in was quick & easy, and we were each given a warm cookie on arrival which was a nice touch. We had an executive room which was not particularly large or small, just about standard size I would say, it was modern and had a refridgerator and tea/coffee making facilities. The room was quiet which was nice, I couldn't hear... More

I stayed here for 3 nights on business. It was my first trip to London and I wanted to do a little site seeing when I wasn't working and this was a good choice. It is a block from the Tower of London and about a 15 minute walk to our London office near Liverpool street train station on bishops... More

We got a good deal here for a couple of nights to celebrate our anniversary. The hotel is very comfortable and the roof terrace bar is great. Handy for the Tube. I'd come back. Our room was quite small but the bed was very comfortable and having an iMac on the desk was a definite plus.

Dear 'SirNigelC' Thank you for deciding to celebrate your Anniversary at the DoubleTree Tower of London and for saying you would return which is excellent news! Staying in City of London

Neighborhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighborhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighborhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
