Double Tree is under Hilton group and I had some expectation here. Not as I expected the room is small but the price is not cheap. Also the reception service is not as good enough when we try to book the tickets they asked us surf the web ourselves. Also when we want them to call and book the restaurants... More

Located within walking distance to financial and insurance businesses, in addition to several of the iconic and historic sites that London offers, The Tower Double Tree by Hilton couldn't be better. I've stayed at several hotels while on business in London - all are four to five star providers - and I must say this facility is my first choice... More

We stayed here for one night on the late May bank holiday Sunday. It's in central London. At reception we were greeted with a warm cookie each. Always a nice way to start a visit. There were tea and coffee supplies in the room. We also had drinks in the Sky Lounge, nice drinks, not as expensive as some London... More

It was my husband's 65th birthday on 23.05.15 and our 43 wedding anniversary on 27.05.15 so I used my avios airmiles to book a four night trip to London and stayed at the Double Tree by Hilton Hotel, London, Tower of London. The staff were extremely helpful. I couldn't get my laptop to link with their wi-fi and one desk... More

Stayed for 8 nights, queen room is slightly small but comfortable. Had access to lounge so very convenient in terms of drinks and snacks. Wifi is not too stable and very different to download email or file. Room furnishing needs a bit of updating - carpet stains etc. what balanced the hard ware is the service level. Mej of guest... I travel a lot for work so I stay in a lot of hotels worldwide. This week long stay was booked by my company (part business, part pleasure), an extra day was booked by error and therefore myself and wife arrived one day later than the initial booking. The clerk called a lady supervisor of asian appearance who behaved really... More

Dear 'ULDan' Thank you for your review. I'm terribly sorry your arrival experience and the delay in having items removed from your room had caused you to feel disappointed overall. I don't mind to pay for a decent hotel. But when I pay good money, I expect value for it. I wasn't quite satisfied with this Doubletree hotel. I've stayed at Doubletree hotels before, and up to now the experience was a good one. But this hotel near the Tower of London certainly did not meet my standards. I terribly... More

The hotel has a great location and very handy is you are wanting to do some of the tourist attractions as the underground is a 5 minute walk away. The hotel itself is great - from the welcome you receive - hot cookies!, to the rooms - each with their own Apple computer which will help those needing to do... More

Staying in City of London

Neighborhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighborhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighborhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
