Spent a long weekend at this hotel. The staff is very good and helpful. The location is good as a base to wander along the Thames and see the sights. It is very easy to get to the hotel from Heathrow via the Express and a 30 minute tube ride, or Gatwick via the express or Thameslink and a tube... More

We were very happy with our stay at this doubletree. It served as a great base for visiting the tower of london, doing the silly (and fun) London bridge experience, and taking the (incredibly great) Jack the Ripper londonwalks tour. It was also easy to get out and about the rest of London from the nearby tube station. The accomodations... More

This is a great hotel! Close to everything you might want to see in London. There is an underground station nearby which will take you just about anywhere. The staff is the best, very friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful. The room is very clean and the bathroom, although small, is impeccable. However, I'm not sure what happened to the towels.... I was lucky enough to stay in this hotel for a night or two and boy was I impressed. The hotel is well presented, in a beautiful location and really handy for the sights and the City. The room was spacious, the staff very helpful and the food fabulous. Especially wonderful is the view at night from the sky bar... More

We stayed in the double tree Hilton hotel situated across the road from the Tower of London and just around the corner from Tower Hill underground station, everything went just like clockwork, the booking in was seamless we were even given a couple of yummie biscuits to take to our room, they were scrumptious, the staff were pleasant and very... With the Tower Bridge and the Tower of London within walking distance, this hotel is the perfect base to experience London. And the amazing view from the Sky Lounge can make for an evening well spent without even having to step out. We felt the Hilton touch all through the four nights we spent here, from the smartly designed rooms... More

We stayed at Easter for my husbands birthday and chose this hotel as we have been there before and were very impressed. The staff are very attentive and nothing is too much trouble. There is always someone on hand at reception to help you. The only one criticism we had was that the food in the executive for breakfast was... More

I have stayed at the Double Tree Westminister, but this is my first visit here. What I found particularly good, is the consistent, high level of service. Whoever is doing the staff recruiting and training is doing a great job. They are all friendly, authentic and genuinely helpful. The rooms are fine. Nothing fancy but everything works well. The bed... More

Staying in City of London

Neighborhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighborhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighborhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
