I nearly always stay in the Tower Hill area and the Doubletree is my favorite hotel there by far! Very conveniently located to both the Tower Hill tube station and the DLR station. All the modern amenities surrounded by a history of London and the hustle and bustle of The City.

Had a lovely time in this hotel and staff and accommodation was very good. The sky lounge was brilliant but the drinks are on the expensive side. The area is good close to Tower bridge and the embankment if you like to walk. I would recommend this hotel to friends.

We visited London with some friends and stay in the Doubletree in a room at a special rate. The room was good, but a bit sober if one would have had to pay the full rate. The free wireless was not always working well (it is a miracle to me why such high-end hotels still charge for fast wireless internet)... More

I have used this place a few times for business meetings. We always manage to find a comfortable place to sit (for 4) and the light lunch menu is always good. It's not cheap but it always turns out cheaper than hiring a meeting room somewhere.

We love the Hilton group but we have never been so disappointed with the standard Standard rooms Were small, had no storage, painfully thin bedroom walls and bathroom doors......and the bed is less than half a foot from the bath. The kitchen is non existent unless you count the "bathroom sink" We asked to upgrade.......... The Deluxe room The only... More

Don't usually stay in this type of hotel. I prefer a more traditional style. However this was a pleasant surprise. Clean ,comfortable, competitively priced and the staff were first class. Especially the waiting staff at breakfast. (Maria was a delight). Not a good location for west end shows but spot on for Tower and the south bank etc

Four people, two rooms were booked for one night (a Saturday). One party decides to go the day beforehand and seeks to make an amendment to the booking (already paid)...what a nightmare in trying to do this...so...a room was booked separately and the hotel then phoned to try and 'link-up' the two bookings...we were told "no problem"...oh really?....Yes there was... We was going to the Union Chapel to see Howard Jones and decided to stay in London. as this hotel is easy to reach and by both tower hill and Fenchurch street station it was ideal for us. we had a lovely stay and great hotel. Only issue was noisy air conditioning in room. perhaps we could not work but... More

Staying in City of London

Neighborhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighborhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighborhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
