I will start with the positive: The hotel is in a great location. As other reviewers have stated, it has easy access to the underground via the Lancaster Gate station. It's also convenient to Paddington Station if you come in via the Heathrow Express. The staff was polite and helpful. Breakfast was good. The beds were comfortable and the linens... More

My husband and I have stayed there twice in the last 13 months--both for a week at a time. It has become our "go to" hotel in London. The location, as mentioned by others, couldn't be better. The staff is wonderful--very helpful and friendly. Yes, it is dated, but it is comfy and the rooms are a good size and... More

I stayed here with a friend for five days, and before arriving was a bit nervous because of the reviews on here. After staying here though, I have nothing but positive things to say. Yes, the rooms are a bit dated and could maybe use a makeover. But they were also comfortable and clean, and I'd rather have those two... More

Acceptable hotel with a nice location near Hyde Park and the Metro. The rooms were small but clean and functional. The breakfast is not worth spending time on. A plus is free Wi-Fi just, they don't advertise for it, but just ask for a code in the reception.

If you are keen on location ,it is excellent but the room especially the bath has not been renovated for ages and no internernet access in the room. Many people spend thier vacation at lobby just to access the wi fi.

Just spent 8 nights at the Columbia, Lancaster Gate. The hotel is made from five former town houses, which during the 50s-70s, formed the Columbia Club for American military officers. Love the grand staircase to the reception. Yes, the hotel's is a bit dated, but comfortable. I don't know about other people, but I do not spend my entire vacation... More

I stayed here recently for a conference. On the good side, the staff are very friendly and helpful. The position is excellent in relationship to Hyde Park and surrounds. My single room with en suite was on two levels. The room smelled of insecticide spray, bed probably hasn't been replaced in 40 years.Carpet threadbare and ripped. Curtains hung off their rail... Stayed at Hotel Columbia at the beginning of June in a twin room in the 4th floor for 3 nights and paid around 210 Pounds. Good Things first. Staff was nice and polite, didnt have much knowledge of the area though. Very centrally placed, just opposite of Kensington park, and three metroes within 2-15 minuttes walk. Nice pub ( The... More
