Just returned from a 1 night stay at this hotel. It's a 2* property that is trying very hard to be a 3*. Has it succeeded? Yes, I think so!! The exterior is very imposing, being directly opposite Hyde Park, & very central to Queensway & of cause Oxford St.. I agree that the rooms are a bit dated, but... More

I was here with the family for 2 nights as this place was recommended by family. On the outside it looks like a posh place but that's far from reality once you get inside; the interior is, although certainly not in a bad condition, outdated. The rooms are clean and spacious enough even if a bit narrow. We had rooms... More

I've stayed in various London hotels over the years and have found the Columbia to be the best value and the best situated of the lot. Providing a feeling of home, members of staff are to a person exceptionally friendly and helpful. Each request for assistance or information was responded to promptly and efficiently. Although name tags would be helpful... More

My wife and I have just returned from a 3 night stay at this hotel. Our room on the second floor was clean and the bed extremely comfortable. The room had all the usual tea and coffee facilities and plenty of storage space. Although the room was on the front of the hotel, therefore facing the Bayswater road, it was... More

We realize London hotel rooms are expensive and this is a "budget" hotel, but there have to be better options than this. I can't say we even got what we paid for. My wife and I ordered a double room (i.e. we wanted a double bed not two single beds). What we got was a closet sized room in which... More

Quite a basic hotel which looks impressive from the outside. We stayed on the 4th floor. The downside of that was that there wasn't much (or any) hot water. Taking a shower was therefore somewhat of a challenge. The plus side of the hotel is the location. It's next to the Hyde Park. For us this was the reason why... More

We thought this hotel was very good value. Bedroom was a bit dated but the hotel worked! Underground only a 5 minute walk away.. So much of London is so easily accessible from here. Across the road is the spectacular Italian Fountains in Hyde Park. Breakfast very good although coffee not to our taste! Would use this hotel again to... More

Other travelers have mentioned that this hotel is old and outdated. It is in the process of being refurbished. And the location is great. You can walk from Paddington Station. The area is safe although noisy (Bayswater Road is always busy). The staff is very helpful. I agree with the woman who said that you should overlook the outdated decor... More

Located in Lancaster Gate and Bayswater, across from Hyde Park. Convenient for walking or the tube. Rooms on Bayswater are noisy but have a view of the park. Take earplugs! Breakfast included, either continental or full depending on the quote you are given. I've stayed here twice and would stay there again. Rooms are clean. Some are very spacious, some... More
