Occupied three rooms for one night for family and grandchildren and had continental breakfast. Areas of the hotel a little 'tired' but very good value for money in comparison with hotel chains and staff very 'child friendly'.

This hotel is relatively cheap for London area, For approx, 100P you got a bed, a shower, and even a breakfast, breakfast means in this case, coffee, toast, and some eggs. I'm not enthusiastic about it. But in a city with so many coffee stores i can't complain about it. Location is definitely an A+ and so is the hospitaliy... More

at the sound of being repetitive . this is our 23rd time staying here for 1 or 2 nights on our London trips.. Old but charming. spotlessly clean. good food. decent bar and peaceful enough but local for central London and its sights... Funny how we see the same staff year in year out..it says a lot to me......would we... More

Spent 2 nights at this hotel. The rooms are a little tired but spotless. The continental breakfast is simple but the staff are so friendly and helpful. We had a top floor room overlooking the park. absolutely beautiful. The lift is a bit old but works fine just a bit slow. All in all a very pleasant stay with no... More

We booked this hotel through Trivago and got a very good price. However, the hotel is very old and in need of many repairs. It is in a wonderful location across from Hyde Park and close to the Tube. Hot water took forever to reach the shower (anytime of the day), and the continental breakfast was lame. I emailed the... More

The location is great, close to Queensway where there are lots of shops and restaurants and there are tube stops very close. That was very convienent and nice but the hotel itself was not a great experience. The beds were like boards, no padding at all. Our group could feel the springs on every mattress. The service was alright but... More

I came to London for a once in a lifetime trip with my three adult daughters from Canada and were very excited to stay in a hotel that was older than our country. The two rooms we got were very different. One was fresh smelling with tall ceilings and looked onto the street, lovely. The other was like a cave,... More

I loved my Aunt Ivory. She was a beautiful woman with white hair that always wore frumpy, flowery plain dresses. While the Columbia Hotel could use some freshening and some spot cleaning, to do so would change her personality and, of course, the rooms prices would skyrocket! This hotel is a bargain, as I have stayed in somewhat worse hotels... More
