As everyone says the location cannot be beaten and in fact the public spaces are great and the rooms are spotlessly clean and the staff very friendly and very helpful - both is very important and I have been to luxury 5 star hotels where this is not the case and would opt for this any day over rude staff... Similar to the previous review, we stayed for a family trip to London. A family room includes four single beds with clearly clean sheets but throws which definitely aren't cleaned after every visitor. Bathrooms not totally clean, a few black hairs left over from the previous visitor but at 23:30 we didn't complain. We ordered four different breakfast between us... More

This was once an awesome hotel. The Stones used to stay here in their day and I suspect they used to love it. The location is great and if you love an avocado bathroom suite then you'll love it too. The service is friendly and rooms are clean. Road noise is significant in some rooms. If you're after a cheap,... More

We have just spent 2 nights at The Columbia Hotel in London. We knew it was going to be basic and basic it was! We had a family room which had four single beds. The bedding was clean which is my main concern. The bathroom was useable but pretty grim and in need of attention. I feel compelled to write... More

The Columbia is a great, old fashioned hotel in the middle of everything if you are a tourist or a Chelsea - fan(one hour's walk to "The Bridge") The rooms are ok, the staff is very nice and serviceminded and to have Hyde Park as a background scenery while enjoying an English breakfast is fantastic. An hotel we revisit over... More

Booked for a concert at Hyde park. The location was excellent & outside of the hotel looks lovely. The rooms are clean but very dated. Like walking back in to the 70's and the floorboards creaked very loudly when walking across the room . The room was over £100 cheaper than any other hotel in this location for the dated... More

We have stayed in this hotel for 3 nights on May 2015. During these days, we had breakfast and leave the hotel to visit London, than turn back in order to sleep. So, we used only for bed and breakfast. Overall the hotel was old, basic and clean. Advantages: The location of the hotel is very good. You can visit... More

My wife and I first stayed at this WW2 American Officers' Club in 1968, and have been there perhaps six or more so times since then. This is not at all fancy but it is clean, well run, and well serviced, and the full English Breakfast is included in the very reasonable (for London) rate of about 102 pounds a... More

Stayed here many times over the years. The price and location are amazing for London. They do take school groups and there is some noise from the kids, but I overlook that for the value, nice common areas, free wi-fi, nice people and a bar. I will be sad one day when it is being remodeled. The price will be... More

Went there with my family, and it was a bit of a disappointment evne though with a reasonable price, you can have some expectations. The beds were hard and uncomfortable. The room was quite spacious, we were 4 so that was ok. The general service was average. But I have to state do not buy the breakfast, it was ridicilous.... More
