Took my youngest on a museum tour...V&A, Science and Natural History. Time was short so went online and found the Marriott. A short walk or even shorter Cab ride and we were there. Very warm greeting from Francisco and we were in our room in about 15 minutes. To be fair the room could do with a refresh but the... More

Francesco at front desk was rude and condescending as a marriott gold member given a room next to air conditioner unit outside plenty of noise even though I told agent I am a lite sleeper Room is old and tired. Claimed they would have to change my rate because marriott hadn't provided mu certificate completely powerless staff on duty at... More

Service at this Central London hotel was excellent. In particular the front desk (Chloe) and the restaurant staff at breakfast. Food was good throughout our short stay (dinner and breakfast) with good choice and quality. Would recommend.

This is a great Marriott - have been a rewards member for a few years now and I've always had an impeccable stay here. The staff on the front desk are extra friendly, they even remembered me from my last stay last summer - they welcomed me back. As a rewards member I get free internet now which is great... More

Great location with clean and modern room (although quite small but no different from other London hotels). The bed was exceptionally comfortable and the staff very helpful. The one letdown was breakfast - the staff told us that we hadn't paid for it when we had (which they finally accepted) and the service was chaotic. It wasn't clear where you... More

Just got back from a one night stay at this hotel. The location is good & easy to find. Car park is Very Small & run by a different company, however residents pay at the Hotel reception. On arrival our room wasnt ready so we paid the Extra £30 per Room & went to the Executive lounge to wait. Like... More

Firstly the Kensington Marriott is a fabulous hotel. On arrival the front desk team were superb! Basit made it BRILLIANT by spoiling my girlfriend by putting flowers in our room and making us feel at home the instant we walked in. What a top guy. The rooms cleanliness was second to none and was a perfect size. And to top... More

The hotel is a well maintained property, in a convenient location, with a generously stocked Concierge Lounge (referred to as Executive Lounge), as well as a nearby tube station. My high expectations as a frequent traveler were clearly exceeded. In particular, the level of staff service was remarkable; always pleasant and helpful, with a clear focus on guest satisfaction. Perfect location for both business and pleasure. Great hotel with very knowledgable and friendly concierge staff ( amazing restaurant recommendations). The executive lounge is nice but could really use a revamp with their food offerings. After being at the Marriott in Amsterdam perhaps we were just spoiled!

The best thing about this hotel is its location -- a few blocks from 2 tube stops, across the street from a Saintsbury's grocery store, close the V&A, an easy walk to Hyde Park, and close to a number of good restaurants. The rooms are not large but are comfortable. Temperature control in the room can be a bit difficult... More

Staying in South Kensington

Neighborhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
