We has a fabulous double / double room with a sofa bed too so more than big enough for three adults although the downside was that there was an additional charge for making up the sofa bed!! And breakfast was extortionate price overall we had a lovely stay but we think the st pancras is better value and much nicer!... More

1. Wifi not free 2. Loud Air con 3. Really loud humming sound from the outside - especially annoying during the night 4. Annoying flashing lights in the night from behind the TV 5. Duvets too thin for winter - we chose to switch off the heating over night as it was way too loud and suffered from freezing in... More

Last Saturday we stayed here, as we have done for the last 3 years. I’ve done reviews of the hotel before, everything was as you would expect. However, previously we booked one of the executive rooms with 2 beds for us and our 2 daughters. Then we had enjoyed access to the executive lounge. The girls enjoyed the muffins and... More

Dear Stephen D, Thank you for reviewing your previous stay with us. The room category you are referring to is our Superior Family room, which sells at a lower rate than our executive rooms. However we do offer upgrades to the executive lounge and do still have Executive Rooms with king size beds to book. I am sorry this was... More

I stayed at this hotel for 6 days in December. I am a Marriott Platinum Elite member and have stayed at almost Marriott properties in central London. This hotel measures up poorly compared to the othesr. The recent renovation has made the lobby and restaurant modern looking, albeit soulless and without a sense of place. Unfortunately some of that renovation... More

Dear Ruvarah, Thank you for taking the time to provide us with feedback regarding your previous stay. I am proud to hear that you found our hosts to be very helpful, attentive and friendly. I am glad you got to enjoy our executive lounge offerings including the fresh food our chefs prepare on a daily basis. Please accept my apologies... More

Simply some of the best customer service ever! Asked for early check in because we were flying in on a red eye. Done. No problem. Concierge service is over the top. Very, very helpful. Front desk, more of the same. Restaurant staff, just great. Friendly and willing to answer typical tourist questions with a smile on their face. Hotel is... More

I booked the Marriott hoping to have a nice luxurious weekend in London with my wife. The lobby was ok... Nothing great... The room, clean, was tiny and had absolutely nothing, besides the basic amenities you get in premier inn which is half price. This place is overrated for what it is... Will not recommend.

Very recently we celebrated my daughters graduation and our stay here was just perfection. So much so we decided to book to celebrate my sons 18th Birthday and Mr James Thomlinson the Hotel Manager again looked after us in a very special way. The hotel has the best location with Marriott standards but the way that James goes out of... More

Thanks to all the staff at this wonderful hotel for my lovely leaving gifts and final upgrade to the Brompton Suite. I've been staying at this hotel 4 nights per weeks for the past 2 years and for 3 years in 2005 - 2008 so am it bit of a regular. I'm occasionally known to complain as after spending 5... More

I had recently booked to visit London to see some friends and was unsure on which hotel I should pick as I wanted to be close to the city and all other attractions. WOW. Not only did this hotel provide this for me being only 4 tube stops from City and a 10 min walk to Hyde park, but the... More

A very good location for the shopping and tourist areas of West London - unbeatable for the big museums. Our room was big enough to unpack a large suitcase with ease, had a comfortable bed and was in clean condition. The bathroom was more than adequate. Having an iron in the room was great - ideal for touching up a... More

Staying in South Kensington

Neighborhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
