This hotel was a super pleasant stay the staff were friendly, and helpful. I stayed here whilst attending London fashion week so I wasn't there much. I found it lovely to come back after a long day and be able to have a bath or shower. The beds were super comfy and I slept wonderful. It was quiet which is... More

We stayed here on a Sunday night at a cost of £64 - unbelievable value for this area of London. We had a great nights sleep in a comfy bed, and while the continental breakfast was unremarkable, there were lots of options and gave us enough fuel for a full day's sightseeing. The room was a good size compared to... More

Stayed at the Grange Strathmore on the weekend. It was very satisfactory, very close to Gloucester Road Tube Station and a short tube ride (or a walk if you aren't carrying a suitcase) to the museums of South Kensington. The staff were very pleasant. The room we stayed in was small but it was fine as it was only for... More

Just stayed in the Strathmore Grange for a 2 day trip to London. My girlfriend booked a room for under £100 in the middle of South Kensington, within 10 minutes walk of the Natural History Museum and Royal Albert Hall, it was the perfect location for our trip. We were upgraded to a family room on arrival for no extra... More

I complained about the shower being cold but this wasn't rectified and I wasn't moved to a different room. The room was so small it bordered on claustrophobic and the bed was painfully uncomfortable. So much so I tried sleeping on top of pillows and my duvet to stop my bad back getting worse. I'm still in pain two days... More

I'm sitting in the lively lounge bar at the Strathmore now. I've had an excelkent stay. The staff have all been friendly, but very professional. Managed to get into my room early and enjoy a drink while waiting for my sister. Every staff member I spoke to was accented, but there english was perfect, so I can't understand complaints in... So! I stayed here for work purposes! The hotel was all paid for so hank god I did not pay a penny! The Hotel decor is actually very nice! I was staying for work purposes with my sister so the company booked us a Twin Executive room which was tiny, it was so small you could barely walk around! We... More

My husband and I went to the UK for a "babymoon"/New Year trip for Dec. 2013/Jan. 2014, and this hotel was our London base. We arrived on a red eye flight from the U.S. and got to Heathrow while it was still dark. The sun was coming up as we got to the hotel and the front desk very helpfully... More

Thank you for your review. We are pleased you enjoyed your stay. As the hotel is a townhouse hotel, the former home of the late Queen Mother's Father, the rooms are varied in size, there are some rooms which are extremely large and would have plenty of space for your new son. Best wishes for a happy New Year. More

We stayed in this hotel in September this year. The hotel was great, rooms a little small but that's London. We picked this hotel because its close (walking distance) to The V & A Museum, The Science Museum, Harrods, Hyde Park & Kensington Palace. The Gloucester road tube station is a pick up point for the Hop On Hop Off... More

Staying in South Kensington

Neighborhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
