I stayed in this hotel with a school group of Kansas and it was absolutely perfect. The lobby was the perfect place to discuss plans for the day and meet up at night. Breakfast each morning was served fast and the wait staff were very nice. I stayed in a three person room and it was huge. The bathroom was... More

Just stayed the one night here after attending a convert at The Royal Albert Hall. 5 minutes walk tops - very comfortable - good service - room was upgraded too - had an early breakfast delivered to the room - £2 extra. Good value and woud defintely use again.

This hotel was the posh London estate of the 14th earl of Strathmore, the maternal grandfather of Queen Elisabeth II. It's 5 floors and is built in the 1850s. Our room on the 1st floor was 5-6 meters in height, comfortable with thick silk curtains. It's very quiet although it's close to the busy Cromwell Road. The underground station is... More

My sister in law and I have just got back from staying 2 nights here! We had the most beautiful room with a huge balcony overlooking the park opposite, the hotel was very quite for the location as its lucky to be off the main road! Great location for the museums and also shopping with all the big stores! Harrods,... More

Four of us stayed here overnight during a trip to the Albert Hall, very nice hotel , clean with comfy rooms and polite and helpful staff. Good place to stay reasonable prices and within walking distance of restaurants and cafes etc, would reccomend and would definitely stay again.

My friend and I payed our annual visit to the Strathmore for two nights when we went to the Albert Hall. It was predictably good, always calm and serene in this historic hotel. The staff are very friendly and keen to be helpfull. I wouldn't stay anywhere else, I just love it at the Strathmore.

The Hotel is in a good location, a short walk to Gloucester Road Underground. After a very long flight we arrived very late, the lift was out of order and was out of order for whole stay, we were down in the basement rooms the stairs where a little step when carrying heavy bags. The room was very spacious clean... More

We stayed here in order to go to the Albert Hall for our daughter's 17th birthday treat. It was perfectly located. We arrived before check in time but were able to leave our case with the concierge while we explored & found the Natural History, V&A and Science museums were all just a block away. We were also able to... More

This hotel was a super pleasant stay the staff were friendly, and helpful. I stayed here whilst attending London fashion week so I wasn't there much. I found it lovely to come back after a long day and be able to have a bath or shower. The beds were super comfy and I slept wonderful. It was quiet which is... More

Staying in South Kensington

Neighborhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
