Stayed here for two nights on business. Check in smooth and friendly. The lift is tiny the rooms not much bigger! However as a single traveller it was OK. Beds comfy, room clean so no complaints. Continental breakfast I would miss not very exciting at all. There are some great options within walking distance offering great deals...I'm a local I... More

Nice hotel but very small/cramped lift. The wardrobe was also small and only fit three coats in it so lived out of the suitcase. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. That apart the food and service was good. Close to the station and a short walk to Kensington gardens/Hyde park. Convenient for our needs. Enjoyed the historical decor of... More

Arriving from Spain. The strathmore were unable to contact me regarding them trying my card, and it decling due to my bank freezing the account because of fradulant activity. This, according to their policy means, if they cant take a pound, the room will not be held for you. So god help you if your phone isnt in your hand... More

A clean and comfortable hotel despite the small room size, very courteous staff. We had continental breakfast included with our room but the fare was not very varied, so there's room for improvement in variety and quality but overall a good stay.

We spent just one night at this hotel as we were attending a concert at the Royal Albert Hall. We found the booking process, especially the Express Check In on-line, excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful, the hotel very clean. We had the continental breakfast which was adequate and always a good sign was how tasty and sweet the... More

My friend and I stayed here last night,as we wanted somewhere close to the Royal Albert Hall... What a nice surprise to stay in a hotel in London that was great value for money, smiling staff and reasonable bar prices. We were also amazed at how clean the hotel was...when we came down in the morning after a restful nights sleep,... More

Stayed at the Strathmore for one night after a concert at the Royal Albert Hall. I was really impressed with the decor and style of the building, lots of polished wood and stained glass windows. Our twin room was on the small side, facing the back overlooking a sweet mews, but the room was of a high standard and really... More

The Hotel is located in a very nice central part of the city. The room was cramped but we liked it anyway. The hotel itself is a little bit old and needs renovation inside.Friendly staff and good breakfast. My only disappointment was Wi-Fi which was not free, I believe this is not acceptable for a 4* hotel.

Stayed one night at the Grange Strathmore as I was going to a concert at the Royal Albert Hall. I booked direct with the hotel (via the Grange Hotels website) and was surprised at how cheap it was compared to other hotels in the area. On arrival I was told that although I had booked a single room my booking... More

Very pleasant and comfortable stay whilst celebrating a 60th birthday celebration in the West End. Didn't need to upgrade the breakfast as the complementary continental was very sufficient. Would not hesitate to return. Nearest tube Gloucester Road, approx 10 minute walk.

Staying in South Kensington

Neighborhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
