Lovely old style hotel with lots of character. Staff were lovely, friendly and very attentive. Our room request for an upper level room was met and the birthday cake delivered to our room was a lovely surprise. Breakfast (full English) was fantastic. The room was clean, adequately equipped and met my expectations. Overall a lovely stay and I would recommend... More

Stayed here whilst in London on a works project. It's in a very quaint area just a two minute walk from Gloucester are tube station. Hotel looks very nice and the staff are very helpful and friendly. We had dinner, steak, the most expensive item on the menu and it was terrible. Tough and tasteless. Although the room was very... More

Grange Strathmore Hotel is set in an elegant mansion on a white-columned square surrounding an iron-fenced private garden. Just off Cromwell Road, and a short walk to the Gloucester Road Tube, the location is excellent for exploring South Kensington, Hyde Park, Kensington Palace and Gardens, Kensington High Street, Harrods and Knightsbridge, the Great Victorian Museums and into Chelsea. The staff... More

We stayed here a few years ago and had a lovely stay, this trip was such a disapointment. Breakfast was terrible the cooked breakfast was stone cold, the continental breakfast was sparse and not replenished you were not offered more tea or coffee and on all 3 mornings we had to request toast. On our 3rd morning we were told... More

Good standard hotel conveniently based in the Kensington area of London. Less than a ten minute walk to Gloucester Road tube station. Bedrooms were comfortably furnished with an adequate supply of tea, coffee etc and there is an ample supply of shower gel etc in the bathroom. A complimentary local newspaper was provided directly to the room. There is a... More

We had avery comfortable Room and a good Continental breakfast. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. We liked the closeness to the Museums , shopping, and the Tube Station was a short walk away. We will certainly stay there next time we are in London.

Just stayed at the Hotel for 2 nights. The hotel is nice and quiet and close to Natural History museum and Harrods etc. Very clean and helpful staff. No Air con but they put a portable in our room so problem solved. Lovely place to stay.

We enjoyed our stay. If you are looking for a 'English feel', this is your hotel. If you like modern, this is not your hotel. Our room was very small but we were fine with it. There are many other hotels in the area that were more expensive and had the same sized rooms! Our four twenty something age children's... More

This hotel was in a great location near Gloucester Tube Station and Hyde Park. It was also close to the Natural History Mus. and the VA Mus. The people were nice and the room was spacious by many standards!

Staying in South Kensington

Neighborhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
