just want to start by saying I DO NOT at any circumstance recommend this place what so ever! Terrible terrible teribbleeeeee! As me and my three friends entered our room at this basic not well looked after "hotel" we were greeted with what I can only explain as the most foul stench ever, it basically smelt like gone off fart,... Hotel is tempting due to it's cheap price for such a decent location. Rooms are absolute bare basics. Mattress was fairly average and propped up off the floor on a plank of wood - I kid you not. Bathrooms are nothing short of horrendous, some sort of all in one portaloo style installation in the corner of the room that... More

As one might have guessed from the title, this is by no means a fancy hotel. If you are looking for something high class, stay away and be prepared to spend a few more extra hundred pounds. PROS: - in the centre of London - very close (5-7 mins) to 2 metro/underground stations and several buss stations - clean sheets... More

This was a very big surprise to me; this was excellent value for money in the centre of London, paying £42 for the night in a single room. Always nice to get an upgrade; but this was more than welcome. The room was very clean if a little dated in decor. The bed was comfortable and the linen clean and... More

Situated close to the pubs and restaurants of the Bayswater road in a very quiet residential location this once very grand house is now a slightly tired budget hotel. The rooms are small and very basic and be warned - there are over sixty steps to the fourth floor, no lifts and if you are in room 39 you have... More

The hotel is basic I stayed a couple of weeks ago for one night with my niece. Our room was at the top of the house and there are no lifts so be prepared to climb stairs. The room itself was basic, we had 3 single beds in our room, they were clean but not the comfiest in the world.... More

Staying in Notting Hill

Neighborhood Profile
Notting Hill
As West London's friskiest corner, Notting Hill more than manages to retain plenty of the same appeal that's brought the affluent area so much worldwide attention. In this attractive cobblestoned neighborhood, a delectable variety of eateries, independent shops, galleries and street vendors offer a delightful window into how to live the good life in London, with each presenting visitors with an experience that's a little more idiosyncratic and endearing than the last. Travelers looking to forage for antiques should be sure to visit the Portobello Road Market on Saturdays, the largest antiques market in the United Kingdom.
