I booked the Lords Hotel for one night, on route during my travels. After reading the reviews, after booking, I was sick with worry I had chosen a dud. I was pleasantly surprised! The hotel is close to Bayswater Tube, so was able to walk with my heavy luggage - and is close to all other cool locations such as... More

This is the third time I have booked the Lords Hotel. I have never been anything other than satisfied, because it is a clean bed and hot shower for a really reasonable rate. Yes, it's not the best breakfast, but it does the job for what you pay...and yes the bathrooms are tiny, but so is your budget when you... More

I spent ages looking for a room in London to accommodate a family of 5. We stayed in a 6 bed room , small bathroom and TV. This was a very reasonably priced hotel in a great location for traveling with a 3 kids aged 11,9 & 7. After reading some reviews here I was a bit apprehensive but thankfully... More

I'm not sure if I tried I could create a hotel room as shockingly bad as what was on offer at Lords Hotel. I think the term 'Lords Hotel' is an sarcastic in joke among the staff rather than a hotel that was designed for actual Lords. These are the highlights (lowlights): - Rather than an en-suite they had installed... More

Tiny room , but very clean and economical to London standards .Well located and small breakfast included . No lift and enormous stairs to climb with luggage. They do not provide hot water and there arent tea or coffe facilities .But you get what you pay for - this is london

Nice spacious rooms in a very nice building, friendly receptionists. The only thing that bothered us were the two ladies serving breakfast, very unfriendly and demanding. Waking up with a nice breakfast and being served in a friendly way is always a very good start of the day. This is an important matter that the management should focus on.

This is a great small hotel in a very good location, 5 mins from tube stations and Hyde Park. The rooms are clean and fairly spacious with TV, ensuite shower/toilet and hairdryer etc. I was in a twin room at the front of the hotel which was great. Good quality breakfast included in the price. Would certainly recommend and I'll... More

Yes the room was extremely basic and the fixtures and fittings had seen better days but Hyde Park was within strolling distance. Reaching the third floor was hysterical. We had to have a break on the way up. However what really recommends it is the staff. Behind the reception desk and toiling in the restaurant preparing breakfast they could not... More

Staying in Notting Hill

Neighborhood Profile
Notting Hill
As West London's friskiest corner, Notting Hill more than manages to retain plenty of the same appeal that's brought the affluent area so much worldwide attention. In this attractive cobblestoned neighborhood, a delectable variety of eateries, independent shops, galleries and street vendors offer a delightful window into how to live the good life in London, with each presenting visitors with an experience that's a little more idiosyncratic and endearing than the last. Travelers looking to forage for antiques should be sure to visit the Portobello Road Market on Saturdays, the largest antiques market in the United Kingdom.
