First of all, the location is really good. It's next to a underground station and in the center of London. Unfortunately, it's really old and too small. I was with my school class for 1 week in London, we had to sleep in the "basement". It was hard to sleep, because the underground was really loud. The service is friendly... More

I don't know how the other reviews this hotel and gave it top marks. This is the worst hotel I've ever stayed. The room not even closed to any of the pictures on its brochures. The whole building is so run down. The carpets on the stairs were ripped and dirty. The stairs were so narrow and no elevators. We... More

Location of this hotel is lovely as it is near the Paddington undergound and the Paddington Station. We had booked two rooms for three nights in late September. When we check-in, we were told that the rooms were at different buildings. We were shcoked as we booked the rooms in June but they could not arrange the two rooms even... More

is more like a hostel than a (3stars!) hotel ... is fairly clean with employees who speak very bad English. Breakfast, included in the price, is just acceptable. The only very positive note it's the location: very central London ! As a base to sleep in London, it is fine. Just that, no more.

As budget hotels go, this one was a winner. Yes it's basic, but for the money it really is a great deal. Fantastic central location & a decent breakfast included. We were booked in next door at it's sister hotel (The Dolphin), but for whatever reason we were placed here instead. If you want cheap & cheerful on a budget... More

My partner and I stayed at this hotel in August 2014. We were offered one of two rooms. One was located on the 4th floor and there was no lift and we had heavy bags of luggage with us so we took the ground floor room. The hotel was not welcoming and comfortable. We were given a room that was... More

Dear Ellen B We are very disappointed to have read this comment. Could you please give us some more information on how we could improve our service by giving us your room number so we can pass it on to our specialised interior design team. Regarding the train noise, trains in the London stop running after midnight so the noise... More

We visited London for 6 days. We got a very nice room 142, overlooking the garden. Location is great and centrally. You can either walk, bus or underground. The Italian reception was really helpful. The housemaid (room 142) is very clean, shy and overall understandable. Thanks to all the staff, you made us feel at home. The only con I can... More

I visited London with my family. We got a very nice room overlooking the wonderful garden. Location is great we walked to Oxford street, Notting hill and even south Kensington by crossing the wonderful Hyde park. Reception was really helpful helped us decide where to go and gave us top class advise. I definitely recommend.

This hotel is very cosy and warm. It's located near the Paddington station, which is one of the main ones, you can easly step to the tube and get to the heart of London. The rooms aren't luxurios but they're provided with all the necessities and basic comforts . It is an old victorian building, I guess, the staff is... More

Thank you Maddalena for your kind words. We appreciate your understanding and appreciation regarding the Victorian buildings. This is a unique hotel as we have maintained this Victorian building over the years to preserve the architectural magnificence. Regarding the supermarket, Paddington is a very well developed area and there are many supermarkets on sight. Please ask the reception as they... More

Tiny rooms. Cold rooms. Foul smelling bathrooms. Lack of proper hospitality as a whole. I travelled with a friend, and found that 2 nights before we arrived in London, that we didnt have accommodation. Unfortunately one of our few options included the Shakespeare hotel, and thats where we stayed for 2 nights. I wouldn't recommend this hotel. Only perk was... More
