My wife and I stayed here for the first leg of our honeymoon and for the price we were not let down. The location was amazing it was so easy to get to all the places we wanted to see. The staff were great and the breakfast was ample. The room we had was rather small but like I said... More

Very nice hotel, good cleaning in general. The rooms were recently refurbished. Breakfast was fast and good. This hotel is recommended for holidays in London. Very friendly and kind staff (Specially Odysseas at reception, was greatly charming)

Very friendly staff (especially Veronica and the breakfast staff), and ideal location are the 2 positives. The negatives - very small rooms, inadequately small bathrooms, worn out pillows and narrow beds, no free internet (almost expected in hotels these days) and bathrooms need a complete overhaul (they are completely inadequate for adults). You get what you pay for, more like... More

Clean rooms, recently renovated. Room-Heating sometimes not working. Breakfast-area very small (not enough seats) and Breakfast-manager extremely rude. This hotel is accetable for a room-only service, don't expect a good breakfast

I'm just back from staying in this hotel for the weekend with a group of friends. I was a little unsure of what to expect but I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. The location is great, 2 mins to paddington station and about a 15 min walk to marble arch The hotel is old fashioned but is clean... More

Do not stay at this hotel...ever!! The rooms were appallingly small. Every time someone wants to use the bathroom the door hit the bed. The bathroom was so tiny you couldn't get changed in it. There was no room to put your suitcases anywhere and we got a wonderful view of the tiled roof. The towels were very threadbare and... More

Dear Marie V, We are sorry you were not satisfied with your stay. Our team is trained and we all have customer service and hygiene as our main priorities. Thus your comments are of great shock to us and so we must take action. Regarding the size of the hotel, it is a traditional Victorian building and therefore space is... More

I'm in the awkward position of giving a good review which might eventually lead to the hotel price going up! My room at the Shakespeare Hotel was - Clean, warm, & quiet, facing the square. Comfortable bed. Small Ensuite, a bit chipped & a bit mouldy but clean. WHITE towels, HOT water, dodgy shower holder, laminate floor, flat screen TV,... More

The hotel is very good when it comes to services, comfort and cleanliness, but you can put as a paste, which has many stairs and has no elevator, regarding the city, it was the first time we visited London and we liked it, we plan to return.

Dear RafaelM, Thank you for your nice comments and we are happy you enjoyed your stay. Regarding the stairs, we fully understand that this is inconvenient, we hold Victorian listed buildings and are not permitted to install an elevator. We hope you understand the history of the building, however next time please request a room on the ground or first... More

The room was tiny (like most budget european hotels) but clean. We got a room on the 4th floor facing the park in front of the hotel so that was nice. Its okay if your trip is only for a few days. Sadly for us, it was the first leg of our 3 week trip so we had really big... More
