Having read previous reviews booked with trepidation! ! Couldn't get in anywhere else apart from paying ridiculous rates! If you just want a bed for the night this is fine, no frills but my bed was very clean, the room had coffee tea making facilities and the en suite was in need of upgrading but if you overlooked the broken... I can not find words to describe this place, looks nice from the outside but something else awaits you on the inside. It took us all of 5 minutes to check in and check out. The only good thing was our money was refunded immediately without question!

I stayed at the Hallam for 1 night in July 2015 and paid £79.00 for the night, including breakfast. Wifi was an extra £2.50 which is reasonable. Yes, the hotel could do with a big update - it has a 1970's feel to it. However, the bed sheets were clean and crisp, and the staff happily moved me to a... More

Quite a mixed bag of reviews but I would say it's not a bad budget hotel. Rooms are small, but that's to be expected, but not a bad standard. 24 hour reception is good and the location is great, only minutes walk from Oxford Circus and right next door to the BBC

I am quite a short man, but the impossibly tiny bed in this 'hotel/hovel' was even too small for me.... If you are of any hight please do not book in here... The room was literally the size of a cupboard, and the toilet door did not close. This hotel was almost spectacular in its bleakness.... Please do not stay... More

Fabulous old building 10 min walk from Oxford street and Euston Station. I paid £70 including breakfast and was amazed to be so close to everything. Brilliant pubs, restaurants, shops and cafes on the doorstep. Yes, the hotel is old and looking a little tired so it could do with an update but the sheets were crisp, clean and white... More

The only people that would appreciate this hotel are homeless people. I paid £80 to stay one night in a single room and it was no bigger than a shoe box and was falling to bits. The door was hanging off, and the tiles in the toilet were horrendous. Look elsewhere for a hotel and don't stay here.

The carpets on the stairs and landings are pretty dirty which put me off and the lift is terrifying but our room was really clean and not as small as I expected (we got the double room!) Shower and toilet also clean. Our room was very very warm which made it difficult for me to sleep though. Staff are helpful... More

I pretty much sat up all night, hoping I wouldn't catch anything. It's filthy. The room they put me in was damp and mouldy and within a few minuets triggered my asthma, so I asked to be moved to another room. They charged me an extra £6 just to be moved to a room that wouldn't put me in hospital!!... More

I stayed here when the normal hotel I stay at was sold out. The front desk clerk was friendly and explained that I had to take the lift to the top floor and then walk up a flight of stairs to get to my room. When I got to my room I was shocked. It was barely bigger than the... More
