I stayed twice at the Brunel Hotel during a recent three-week trip to the UK. The hotel is so centrally located - 5 minutes from Paddington Station, and 5 minutes walk from Hyde Park. During my first visit, I was put in a basement room, having booked a single room. Yes, it was rather small, but I had two single... More

Stayed here Feb 1st - 3rd, compact hotel, great location for exploring London, 5 min walk from Hyde Park and underground station. We stayed in room which had 2 double beds and single bed recently refurbished so modern and clean, had everything we needed, breakfast was buffet style with plenty of choice, staff friendly and helpful. Hotel is undergoing further... More

Let's get this straight right from the start: the Brunel is a small hotel with small rooms. It also happens to be a very cheap hotel, and in my book that means it's great value for money. We (family of 5) used it as our base in London for 12 nights, and found it to be very adequate for our... More

I did not know what to expect when staying here. The room seemed good online. I was not horribly disappointed. The room was modern, but a bit cramped (a bit is an understatement) for three people. The beds were very hard and there was a bit of waking up at random points of night. Also if you left your window... More

The hotel rooms are very dated. Stains on the bedsheets and we were put in a basement room which was tiny!!!! Could hear everything going on from reception including the receptionist scrapping the chair on the floor. Walls extremely thin. Not good if you want a lie in as opposite our room was the breakfast area. Not unless tables to... More

I am used to the smaller hotel rooms generally found around Europe, but this room gave a new meaning to "small". I am 5'6" and weigh 115, so I'm not fat, but I had to literally turn sideways to get into the bed - the wall was that close. But the room was very clean and well organized. Included breakfast... We were in the vicinity for one night and made a last minute booking at this place. As it was just the one night, all we needed was a crash pad for the night and this fitted the bill. Fairly standard stuff - small foyer, smoky stairs and landing areas (who smokes in the landings?!) and room small but adequate.... More

The hotel is clean but basic. Our room was on the small size but acceptable. Equipped with personal safe, TV and fridge; (Empty for your use; Very Good). Because there was no double glazing the room was very noisy though out the night from the passing traffic. The room would benefit from some extra shelves and coat hooks. 2nd night... More
