Stayed recently at this hotel which was located in a convenient location for my trip and very close to the Piccadilly line tube. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Rooms were clean. However the room I had was in the basement and was tiny. It was a twin room but the beds were together so there was no space. The wifi... More

Friendly, clean, efficient plus a good breakfast. Location is good in relation to tube services and plenty of taxis. "Why is it obligatory to have to use 200 words for the feedback to TripAdviser ?????"

Good points: amazingly fast broadband, friendly reception, clean, inclusive breakfast, good location. Satisfactory: breakfast ok, shower room ok. The TV was a decent size but really quite old, remote didn't work. Tea and coffee in room Bad Points: hard bed, not a full size double, had to shuffle round the bed. Just 18" gap in parts. Room was really, really... More

Stayed for 3 nights on May Day weekend. Staff very helpful on arrival and given a lovely room on first floor, complete with small decked patio at rear of hotel. Nice and quiet. Rooms are modern, well equipped and clean. Only used the breakfast room so can't comment on bar and other facilities. Breakfast on weekend was busy and we... More

Visited this hotel at the end of April. The rooms are tired and unclean. The bathroom had mould around the doorway, ceiling and shower tiles. The floor did not look hovered. Disappointed as I have stayed at many best western hotels and the usual high standard was not present here.

The location of this hotel is absolutely perfect. You are just steps from three Underground lines including the Piccadilly line which serves Heathrow. The area is full of great restaurants and attractions within walking distance. Kensington Palace is about a 15 minute walk as is the Royal Albert hall. Just a few blocks east are The Natural History Museum and... More

The Best Western The Cromwell is listed as a 4-star hotel on a couple of websites (e.g. TripAdvisor and Booking). However, on the official Best Western (BW) website The Cromwell is marked as a 3-star hotel. The hotel is most definitely not 4-star worthy. Last year I stayed at the Park Plaza Westminister Bridge Hotel, which was a true 4-star... More

Although our room was on the front of the hotel we were three floors up and that, together with the good soundproofing on the windows meant road noise was minimal. Air conditioning also meant the room was at a temperature we could control, although the unit was a bit noise (ear plugs were very handy!) The room was quite small... More

My husband and I stayed here for one night. Our primary reason for choosing this hotel was the fact that it is within walking distance of the Royal Albert Hall. The hotel is located very close to Gloucester Road tube station so getting to all the main attractions was very easy. The check in was fast and the receptionist was... More

We booked this hotel for its convenience to what we planned to do in London, and believing that as it was a Best Western hotel the quality would be assured. This was not the case. The room was much smaller than I anticipated, and located on the 3rd floor. With just one lift the wait could be excessive or we... More

Staying in South Kensington

Neighborhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
