Stayed here for one night on business in July 2015. Hotel has good location behind Kensington High St Tube, though this is a less attractive station to be near since they messed around with the Circle Line. If you're travelling to/from Kings Cross or neighbouring areas, you'll have to change at Edgware Road, which is a real pain with luggage.... More

Hotel is set back from busy main streets but yet walking distance to plenty of places and or subway. Service was great...No free wifi. Breakfast, bar, restaurants are above average. Rooms clean but a bit small with dated furnishings. If you love morning runs than you will love how close and safe it is to Hyde Park.

Everything you's expect from a good quality hotel. We got a small upgrade to allow early check in which gave us the wi-fi for all our devices, a bottle of water each and a voucher for a free cocktail which was perfect for when we arrived back from our festival at Hyde Park.

Check in very smooth. Room clean and comfortable. Breakfast excellent. Concierge very very helpful. Will stay here again when next in Kensington. I can't fault it. Location is wonderful. Exterior is warm and welcoming, doorman was very nice. Overall one of the better mid priced London hotels. Only bad thing is Wifi cost. Too expensive and to be honest should... More

We spent 2 days in London this week for our 20th Wedding Anniversary and stayed at the Tara. As a wheelchair user I wanted to ensure that I have space in the room to move about and unlike many hotels in London the room was very spacious. I didn't choose the adapted room as I didn't need it but the... More

The hotel is located in upmarket Kensington area. Quite close to a few attractions. We stayed for 2 nights as part of an organised tour run by Star Tours. We were a group of 50 Indians and were extremely satisfied with breakfast. The rooms were spacious for two adults and a child. The bathroom was big enough. All required amenities... More

For the price, you can't beat this one if you are looking for a spacious room in London. The décor may be old and tired (no safe deposit box in room etc) but the spacious room is really quite comfortable. The buffet breakfast is good, with many food item including oriental congee and noodle....and they even sit you to a... More

Hotel was in an ideal location and out of the congestion charge. We used the hotel car park, which is expensive but typical for the area. The room had dramatic views across west London, we were situated at the front of the hotel. We didn't have breakfast but ate in local cafes at a fraction of the cost. The room... More

We visited for a Saturday night stay as a birthday treat weekend in London. The hotel is in a good location, a 2 minute walk from Kensington high street station, the lobby/ reception is large and well equipped with a snack shop and a gift shop. Our room was on the 9th floor and far below the standards expected of... More

Staying in South Kensington

Neighborhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
