We had a twin room including breakfast which we booked for a very good price for two nights (£165). Was not expecting the standard of service we received. It was superb and nothing was too much trouble. We were able to have breakfast in our room (full English with all the trimmings) for no extra cost, which was delightful, and... More

I booked a superior double room in August 2015 for a stay in February 2016. On arrival we were informed that there were no double rooms available, I questioned this and had to prove I had booked a double room, after 10 minutes of debating this, a double “superior” room became available. The room wasn’t in fact a double and... More

we chose this hotel mainly because it is in walking distance of the main museums and the Albert hall.It is not great to look at from the outside but we have been very happy there and have used it for 3 trips so far.Easy stroll from tube station to hotel,we recommend it for anyone going to London for the Albert... Came here with my wife and son. We ordered three beds in one room but when we arrived there was only two beds. However a quick call and the bed duly arrived. Nice place in pleasant location. We got a good deal and it was great value for money. The staff were all friendly and the room was to a... More

The Tara Copthorne is a good value comfortable hotel. Although the bathroom was a bit dated, and the corridors a bit aged, it was extremely clean & comfortable. The air conditioning worked brilliantly, and our room was nice Breakfast was tasty too!

Lovely central London hotel with values ! London bar prices but a good room only deal. Couple of issues, 6th floor window didn't seal well so was noisy and draughty and hearing didn't seem to work. Great shower and cleanvwell presented room, staff very professional and polite - don't like being charged an automatic service charge through. Overall very good... More

Another great stay at this hotel, this one was a free night too with their customer loyalty programme. Perfect location. Great room lots of space and I got the side of the hotel that doesn't have trains pass it :) Food was great had room service pics attached.

I booked three double rooms each one provided with an extra bed for a child. My wife and two daughters had planned a three night break with our three grandchildren to explore the sights of London at the half term school holiday. The rooms were adequate and just large enough to accommodate the extra beds although drawer space was a... More

I was received warmly by the young lady on reception. She was amiable without being intrusive making you feel welcome. From the hustle and bustle of South Kensington High Street it was pleasant to find the hotel nestled behind a quiet spot. The room was clean and the facilities ideal. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice.I did not have... More

Staying in South Kensington

Neighborhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
