Tucked in a side street a block away from High Street Kensington, the Copthorne Tara has a fantastic location. You can find a wide array of restaurants and retail in the immediate area. High Street Kensington tube station is short walk and there is a Whole Foods Market close by. The hotel is average and perpetually busy. It is popular... More

I stayed at this hotel for one night. Very impressive front reception area. I drove to hotel as they have an underground car park. For 24hrs the charge was £25. Great location 5 mins away from High Street Kensington underground station and shops. The hotel catered for me as I needed a room for 3 ppl. The breakfast was buffet... More

I stayed with my family at the Copthorne Tara Hotel for a week and it was great. We were very happy in a way that Mariann went out of her way to accommodate our situation when were there. The hotel is very accessible and it was very easy to move around London.

We stayed in a 12th floor Club Room, supposedly top of the line. The view from the room was spectacular, the housekeeping good, but there were some faults/problems: (1) Weak water pressure resulting in problems flushing the toilet; (2) "tired towels; (3) no bathrobes or bottled water; (4) torn wallpaper. Nothing awful, but not what we expected based on several... More

My Husband and I stayed for 2 nights Bed & Breakfast last weekend as we were attending the Wimbledon championships on the Monday. This hotel is in a great location and very handy for the tube. The hotel upgraded us to a Club room as it was my Husbands Birthday that weekend (Thank You Very Much) it was a lovely... More

Check in: I arrived at 2pm which I thought is a normal check in time but was advised it was 3pm but could leave bags, so I go for a walk along kensington high street about 2 minutes away and return at 20 past 3 and room not ready so they gave me 2 free drink vouchers for use in... More

Pretty good value for money considering the location (within walking distance of the Royal Albert Hall) but pretty average in most respects otherwise. If you want a breakfast for 2 it's worth taking advantage of their £25 room upgrade (although the breakfast isn't that great), as you're getting a slightly better room, free Wi Fi and 2 free cocktails (as... Staying in South Kensington

Neighborhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
