Downstairs this hotel is great, lovely reception, nice bars, friendly polite staff and feels upmarket. Then you get the rooms, back to 1984 deco, clean but worn. I booked the superior which I can only assume means you get a door chain extra. I was kept awake but people talking in next room. All said, it was fairly well priced!

During my university studies, my campus got a case of legionnaires disease. Much to our collective anger, they shut down the place and shipped us all home or to temporary accommodation. During this week, I was forced to sleep in a small room above the main building of the university. It was small, cramped and someone had left milk in... More

I had read a few bad reviews of this hotel after I'd booked, so was worried about our stay. However, we had nothing to worry about. From the second we arrived in the car park, it was great, the attendant got us a space and was so helpful. Nothing was too much trouble for the receptionist and she even gave... More

We stayed for a week end at this hotel it is in a great location and we recieved an amazing welcome from a young lady called Olga. The hotel is very comfortable and good value for money. You can walk from the hotel to a great food hall,it is called the whole food market and stocks an amazing range of... More

For comfort and convenience this hotel is hard to beat. Tube station, bus stops and Ken. High Street shops within 4 minutes walk. Museums just a few bus stops away. Good service and helpful, friendly staff.

Rooms are clean, good size for central London, staff are super helpful (Mariann on reception was a star on my last stay getting me an upgrade to a club room and generally giving great service. ) Given the frequency that I have stayed at copthorne it... I just wanted to say a very big thank you to Ash on the reception desk, she always makes my stay feel more like being at home than being at a hotel, she is always polite and extremely helpful. I have been staying at this hotel for over 2 years and I would recommend it to anyone staying for business... More

The Hotel is very convenient for the tube and central London. The room was more than adequate, the reception welcoming and the bar and restaurant OK. Reception tried to get us to pay extra for a room with a view but we did not think it worthwhile. The hotel is near lts of shops and there are quite a few... More

I had carefully read the other Trip Advisor reviews and decided that the location was its best asset and a little wear and tear wouldn't be a problem. We stayed in four different rooms for a total of two weeks (with a 3 day side trip to Bath) - from mid December to 2nd January 2015. It was advertised as... More

We booked the Copthorne Tara mainly due to ample on site parking. The hotel was clean and comfortable and the staff very welcoming. The breakfast is buffet style with a good choice, but the cold section could be better.

Staying in South Kensington

Neighborhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
