Room clean, mattress fine, bathroom good and I had a good view of The Shard. Wi-fi was a bit of a joke/con depending on which option you went for and the prices for anything in the hotel were unacceptable. Parking was also a right todo and £39.00 a night. Looked forward to returning to the country

The location is fantastic. Barely 2 minutes walk to Gloucester Road tube station which is on the picadilly, circle and district lines. The restaurant and lounge have efficient and friendly service but a meal is on the pricier side even if delicious. The negatives... The check in was unfriendly and abrupt, the wifi expensive and the room was small and... More

I spent a week here on business this month. The location is wonderful, two minutes to the Underground and walking distance to plenty of restaurants. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Food in the restaurant is decent -- a 7/10. Breakfast buffet is fresh and varied. The pub is a bit lacking in terms of service. The entire hotel... More

I recently stayed nine days at the Holiday Inn Kensington. Check in was not good at all. I arrived at 11:30 and was told check-in was at 2:00 but the gentleman would pre-check me i and at 2:00 all I wold have to do is get my key. When i went back to get my key I was told I... More

Stayed here for one week on business. Conference was in the hotel, so I got to know it reasonably well. It is a favourite for airlines to put their visiting crews, which tells you that the quality is OK without being lavish. Good: excellent location just a few steps from Gloucester Road tube, spacious rooms by London standards, good water... More

We had just flown in from Venice, Italy and stopping for the night January 21 2015 before heading North to Rotherham. Mistake # 1 was thinking that this was close to Paddington station where the LHR express disgorges people. Mistake #2 was to take a cab through rush hour traffic to get to the hotel since it was close to... More

This a great hotel location, only minutes away literally from some superb attractions. I was very impressed by a dining offer which included two courses for £20.00 including two drinks. I expected a catch to it being something like a “buffet” style menu but not at all. I had the garlic mushrooms and a burger, the food was great and... More

Staying in South Kensington

Neighborhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
