I stayed here fir three nights and got a room on the 17th floor with beautiful views of London. Exceptional customer service throughout our stay, lovely breakfast. The gym is bit small but there were never too many people.

I paid £116 for a room in xmas-party season mid-week - that's pretty competitive for a 4 star hotel reasonably close to the centre of the city, so I'd use it again. It's a bit tired looking - not sure when it was decorated, maybe the 80's?! However, it's fundamentally clean, so liveable with. Very tall building - so despite... More

We had asked for rooms high up but when we arrived at 5.30 pm they said the rooms were not cleaned so we got larger rooms on 4th floor. They were not especally large, the fridge was torn out with an empty space in the shelf, cold air from windows and a baby cot mounted in half of the floor... More

A nice clean convenient Kensington hotel with decent food and well-appointed rooms. Our third stay here in two years and we would gladly come again. Very handy for the museums and for access to the West End by tube.

My other half and I recently stayed at the holiday inn for a weekend treat away in the Capitol. We had a lovely time. Staff were mostly friendly, the hotel was inviting, excellent location and not too far from Gloucester Tube station. I loved the snowman and Christmas tree in reception, made the hotel feel homely for the time of... More

Stayed twice in a matter of days, one night each time. Check in both times took forever, and there were no queues. First night ordinary double and second executive double; there is not much to pick and choose between them, tho the latter was much better appointed in terms of e.g. dressing gown and comfortable armchair. BUT, WIFI is chargeable... More

We stayed here for 4 nights. The bedrooms are big and very comfortable. We paid for breakfast but as its a big hotel you can be unlucky and have to queue for breakfast. We went to a cafe next to gloucester road tube station 2 mornings and for under 10 pounds for 2 breakfasts its great value.south kensington is a... More

Upgrade are reserved to airline crews until 9:30 pm, so if you are a loyal customer, even with the highest status, i.e. Platinum, you will never be upgraded ! Front desk tells you that they are fully booked upon arrival, after controlling I discovered that they had plenty of executive rooms available but reserve them to airline crew as mentionned... More

The number 1 knock on other reviewed hotels in London was room and bed size, which, in my opinion only matters if you plan to spend most of your vacation in the room. Not only was the room adequate, the bed was just right for my size (6' 5"). The amenities we're excellent and it had all the comforts of... More

Staying in South Kensington

Neighborhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
