We stayed at this Hotel for a few days before and after our bus tour of London and Ireland. It was a very busy hotel and check inn was a little chaotic. The rooms we had booked were not available and the staff assisted where possible. Concierge is extremely helpful with tours, bookings, etc. Breakfast buffet is great and so... More

Start of my birthday weekend celebration, a show at The Albert Hall and stayed over night at The Holiday Inn. Easy walking distance from London Underground and plenty of pubs, restaurants close by. Very helpful, friendly customer service from the time we arrived. Very comfortable bed with pillows to match. The hotel had lots of eateries and a pub located... More

Booked two nights for a theatre visit 23-25 January. Everything was scant, from the inadequate miniature flat pillows, poor tea tray, one shampoo and one shower gel despite two guests staying. Inadequate staff on check in and very long waits for lifts. The rooms have had fridges removed and a gaping hole just left, one 'easy chair' - bare minimum!... More

Found my room to be clean and comfortable. I had a room with two single beds, which was fine for my needs but small compared to American sized rooms. Property was clean every where. Great food and staff. The concierge desk was always helpful. Restaurants had great food.

Good hotel, very close to underground station and pretty much everything you need for daily life, pharmacy, supermarket, fast food, bars and resutaurants. Decent room size althought i found the room door is a bit narrow, even i am not large size person. Good gym facilities and plenty choices for breakfast, the mini pan-cake machine is just rediculously funny (in... More

Lodged in this hotel with my family for a business/family trip. Rooms are quite small, no minibar inside and I was expecting it in a HI hotel. Breakfast is very good and the hotel position is very good once you are ready to go by underground. Very close to Gloucester station. Business/meeting rooms are good, coffee break cornes is well... This was a nice hotel with friendly staff. Lots of good facilities and nice rooms. A little more choice for breakfast than most hotels at this grade. Only fault is there needs to be more staff on reception at busy times for check in/out. I've stayed here before and will do so again!

It was a good choice, ideal location, staff polite and efficient, Hotel is in a great location near Gloucester Rd tube station and shops and restaurants near by. The hotel itself is well run, clean and the breakfast was excellent. But what I didn't like at all is The hotel procedures of collecting the fees, when you check in they... More

We often use hotels in this chain but had never previously stayed at this one. It certainly ticked all of the boxes, particularly as it was less than a 5 minute walk from the tube station. Check in was very quick and efficient and the room was very clean and comfortable. We were able to walk easily to the shops... More

The hotel was average at best. For a more expensive business class oriented hotel, I expected more. No free wifi was a huge disappointment. The water pressure was horrible...a 10 minute shower turns into a 40 minute event here. I've stayed at nicer establishments that cost only $50/night. Although the amenities are great (gym, Starbucks coffee, pub), I would've preferred... More

Staying in South Kensington

Neighborhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
