We had a pleasant experience staying at the Millennium Gloucester this past March. The hotels location is excellent - right across from a tube station. It is a 10-15 minute tube ride to many attractions. There are also several restaurants, cafes, drug store and grocery store near the hotel. Convenient! The hotel is also perfect for large groups. The breakfast, which... More

I stayed here for a meeting. It is very close to Gloucester Road tube station and near many reasonable restaurants. The lobby is large and bright and check-in was efficient. My room was larger than average for London hotels. Those were the good points. Sadly there were many negatives - mainly that everything was tired and needed replacing or upgrading.... More

Unfortunately, our experience with this hotel was very bad. This hotel is in a great location but would benefit from some maintenance, renovating and staff training. The concierge staff were brilliant and are a credit to the hotel. We arrived at 11.00pm tired from a day of travel and were given a warm welcome by the concierge but were made... More

Highly impressed by the hotel and the staff! We were here for five days (six nights) in the middle of April. Before we even arrived, I received an e-mail from the Millennium team asking about the details of our visit - were we coming for a special occasion, was there anything they could do to help, could they offer any... I stayed here 5 nights for business, and overall would not return by choice to this hotel. The location on Gloucester Road is just fine, and it has handy proximity to the Tube. The doormen were excellent and hailed us taxis when needed. But there were some mixed experiences otherwise: -we arrived at 12 noon. our rooms were ready, but... More

I needed to be within easy walking distance for the tube train and addresses in Kensington / Earls Court areas. This hotel is exactly that. Admin is good, despite being on my own I was given a generous double room/en-suite bathroom, very comfortable and clean. Room service fast and generous portions. Good breakfast with plenty of choice. I felt well... More

We stayed at the hotel because it hosted our conference and it was convenient. The location is great- 100 meters from gloucester road underground station with 3 lines and just 10 minutes walking from hyde park. The room was comfort and large. Clean too. Breakfast was a bit disappointing and pricy for the variety so i skipped it after the... More

I spent eight nights here recently and won't be returning any time soon. The public areas are nice enough but the rooms have been neglected and need urgent upgrades. The room safes are not large enough to accommodate a laptop. The bathroom was very small and cramped. Wifi is 10 pounds per day and its quality is very spotty. Choose... More

Staying in South Kensington

Neighborhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
